Also I did check clutch for the recommended free play. It's within the required range. But still gearbox sometimes sounds horrible.
And with the recent oil change to mineral oil I got the tappet sound too when bike is heated.
Hi regarding hard shifts. I had that happen after service where they tightened the chain more. Manual spec is 40-45mm slack which feels loose for mechanics. And they tighten more. Happened both services from different places. The second time was much tighter. Haven't gotten a chance to redo it yet.

When you buy Oil from anywhere, any brand. Manufacturer certifies the Oil.
There are two certifications. SAE and JASO.
Its like sizes of shirts. One certification says Shirt sizes should be like 40/42/44. Another one says shirt sizes should be like S/M/L/XL. Both are almost same, but slightly differ.
        For FZ25,
        - SAE 10W-40 JASO MA
        - API SL or Higher.
Any oil, which meets these specs should be fine. Yamalube /Castrol/Servo/ any brand. Almost all brands follow these.

          Question was what type?
          Fully synthetic?
          Semi synthetic?
          Mineral grade?

They missed on the type I guess

            Missed it.
Default is Mineral Grade, unless specified explicitly. Semi Synthetic is just mineral oil, with additives. SS is just marketing jargon.

I would prefer to wait until 2018. If you decide to sell the bike down the line after years of riding, booking now in 2017 would reduce the resale value. But again resale prices are not going to be roof high.

                        ALERT!!!!
Chain slack is the culprit....it was 30 mm ...tightened during service. Today correctly adjusted to 40 mm using scale. Rode the bike to work and back and the result is very positive.its a 70 km ride so I'm pretty happy how it preformed. So I suggest everyone having hard noisy shifts to check chain slack. If it's not in 40-45 mm range adjust. Also the clutch freeplay should be adjusted .

And thanks . So the recommended grade of engine oil is mineral oil for fz25? Can anyone else confirm it?? Can mineral oil handle the heat as efficiently? Also yamaha manual suggests 5000 km engine oil drain interval. So definitely Yamaha is not talking about just mineral oil. I guess no mineral oil from no matter what company can last 5000 km in 250 cc average sump sized engine.not that I'm troubled by these things but just being curious. Cheers!!

now need good horn as existing one is like on CD Delux (need something like on Pulsar 220), i am from village and people need here extra attention.
another thing, when i am more than 60km/hr speed there is wind blast, even in my helmet (vega). any work around for that?
So please let me know for either dual horn or another alternative of it and a good looking windshield for it.

                                Help appreciated.

                                thanks
