Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
i have cleaned & lubed after 1200 kms & also once after 80 kms.Originally posted by krishna6239 View PostNormally Every 500kms. If there is huge deposition of dust/grit on chain, I’ll clean and lube in next impending wash.
its not about kilometers but about dust deposits which can damage sprocket & chain.
if you ride on highways i have seen motul lube do last fairly long 1200 kms ,
and on off road & muddy area you need to clean & lube more frequently.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello everyone. Just a small update. I finished the second service a few weeks ago. The bike is performing very well. It seems to be very reliable. Been stuck in the incessant Bangalore rains last few evenings. I know it goes through 8 inches of water.
Except for a mud guard that doesn't keep mud off like a commuter bike, I can't see any issues. The service with a skilled mechanic takes only 30 mins and some more time for washing. This is with all usual jobs done. Even the chain does not lose more than 6mm in slack over 4000km for me. The clutch cable was adjusted once at 1000km and it's holding spec now also. It's at 5500km at the moment.
Very enjoyable in the city with the light weight. Besides ensuring petrol is there not much else to do :-)
That and chain cleaning every 5 to 700km works well for me. It's a time consuming task to do it correctly but other than that no fiddling around. Very much recommend it for someone looking for a no nonsense practical city machine.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
If the pad is worn avoid riding it. If the rotor goes it's an expensive replacement. It's only got 0.5mm of wear limit. Although I have seen people use rotors more worn not sure how that works. Hope you find the pads soon.Originally posted by xdocx View PostBoth disc pad has worn off..7000 km..not getting rear disc pad in any service center..there is lot of noise and braking is suboptimal..what to do?

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I am facing a strange issue- whenever I park my bike in afternoon sunshine for 15 minutes or more, it refuses to start even after cranking multiple times but when I open and close fuel tank lid and crank it starts immediately. This issue doesn't occur if parked in shade or cool place, only in direct sunshine. My fuel tank always remain half filled.
I feel this is fuel vapour lock/air lock issue due to excessive heat or may be fuel tank vent pipe is choked. This issue was common in my karizma (varb) but i feel in FI bike its not common. Anyone else faced this issue?

Ha ha ha this is now common with most BS4 bikes seen this issue in multiple bikes post bs4.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View PostI am facing a strange issue- whenever I park my bike in afternoon sunshine for 15 minutes or more, it refuses to start even after cranking multiple times but when I open and close fuel tank lid and crank it starts immediately. And yes it is the vapor lock issue as now the tank cap is made airtight with only a pipe leading the vapors to charcoal canister for re circulation.
Bajaj has removed 2 silicon washers from the under side of tank cap in few bikes to counter this and new lot bikes are bit modified to resolve this.
Met a tb500 owner on the road few months back his bike was not starting even after constant cracking or waiting for more then 15 minutes. I suggested to open the tank cap which took us good 10 minutes to do and few drops of petrol and oil and the cap open with a loud pop . We felt the gases escape and after that the bike started in half crank , I advised him to get the cap rubber changed
Best way to counter or resolve this is to keep the small holes if any on the under side of the tank cap cleaned and also the key slot.

Thanks Ijs bhai for your input. I too had same thought regarding canister system but no one else reported same issue in fz25. You also faced similiar issue in your domi?Originally posted by Ijs View PostHa ha ha this is now common with most BS4 bikes seen this issue in multiple bikes post bs4.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Have only faced small jerks due to this but that was only once , and then post the new ecu update all is smooth. But few owners have faced this and got the key slot rubber replaced or the washers removed in few cases.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View PostThanks Ijs bhai for your input. Haven't faced any starting issue in my bike.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I agree with this feedback. A good one. I am sorry to see that Yamaha is taking cost cutting measures for an otherwise good bike. If you're up for it, feel free to check out some aftermarket vinyls to matte skin the body. It won't feel as plasticky anymore.Originally posted by soumya_digi View PostCheck other showrooms as well if they have stock availability.
You can ask the SVC guys to take a look into it and fit the tank plastic cover properly.
This is a common thing and the gearbox will become smooth over time.
You're welcome.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Is anyone facing any kind of missing while throttling. For last couple of days am facing a strange issue..already had 3 falls coz of same issue. When ever i apply throttle thr is some sort of missing from 1.5 to 2k rpm on every gear. On first gear the engine will went off some time when i appy throttle and already fell down 3 times 😞 and had 2 time mirror broken and some scratches on exhaust cover.. Showed to svrc cntr but they couldnt find any defects and give lame excuse like every bike has this and its normal. And they said they did cleaned up something something and i dont know what..but tat makes things even worse, the missing still thr and mileage went down drastically from 37-42 to around 25-30 and coin rattling noise getting louder day by day. 2700 plus kms done. no idea wat to do?..has anyone facing those issues?

Ask ASC to check spark plug and air filter... could be an issue with anyof these. Also clean the fuel injector.Originally posted by Gkn View PostIs anyone facing any kind of missing while throttling. I faced this issue few days back when bike was parked in sun for good 2 hrs. Though it started after I moved the bike a few steps.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View PostI am facing a strange issue- whenever I park my bike in afternoon sunshine for 15 minutes or more, it refuses to start even after cranking multiple times but when I open and close fuel tank lid and crank it starts immediately.
