Of all the discussion on steel braided lines for rear brake.

I honestly feel rear brake is good enough. It doesnt lock so easily and has progressive stop. I found it better than my 390 where ABS uses to kick in much early. This is because of tire profile is quite flatter on FZ25 than 390.

Bhai, you sold your 390 and bought FZ25, correcto? How's your ownership till date and anything that you liked or didn't like in FZ25?

I own a fz25 my rear brake was fine before second service when my rear disc pad was changed as it was worn out. But after that the rear disc performance has reduced considerably. And also it's almost 10k kms in my odo now, still my rear disc pad hasn't worn out. I strongly believe that changing the disc pad for better would solve the issue in discussion.

        Rofl Thanks. Nice comments indeed.
The concept of Disc brakes is so simple and easily understandable. I was just trying to clarify some stuff.
There is a reason why we have more Baba's than Scientists. There is a reason why our Baba's make more money than our Scientists.
Because, we all love magic rather than science.

When you buy a bike, you must have upgraded from a 150 or 200. So you would ride slowly for the initial few Thousand Kms. after few services you would start revving her hard, without knowing, cuz you got adapted to its behavior. So, you start to see a different behavior from some of the parts. But we don't accept change in our riding style. Also, what about the rear disc damage, that it might have incurred during first 10K kms?
If yamaha really cut the quality of disc pads, i agree that switching to better ones might help. but, the concept remains the same.

        Happy upgrades.

Do you mean to say that ss braided hose would not cause any increase in the bite?
I Haven't tried it yet. If you have then might be helpful or would appreciate someone else too who's used them both.
However i don't intend to upgrade the hose yet. Just looking for better pads.

I still dont understand why to increase the bite? That will only cause trouble rather than solving it. Infact any improvements to rear break will increase the need for abs. With the current set up and little change in riding style/ adopting to the characteristics of FZ25, will make a huge difference than spending money and increase the risk..

The reason why I'm looking to increase the bite is very simple. Before my disc pad change at 5000k the braking was just perfect. You need to press real hard to lock up. But after changing the pads i feel there is no enough braking at all. Even at slower speeds I'm not able to lock up by pressing real hard which should be the case with rear disc.
I'm facing this issue only after disc pad Change. Either the disc pads are not efficient enough or the quality has gone down big time.

I had similar experience with my ex-Duke 200 where the rear brakes were wooden beyond belief. It just worked well if the speed of the bike was less than 8 kmph. To get back the bite, I bled out some of the oil from brake reservoir slowly to get that feeling back again. It looks like either the oil is too low(in case your brake pedal is travelling too much without much braking effect) or it's too much for the system to work effectively.

This is the actual process but nobody practices it. Need not to worry about it.

I went there too, on the highway, right? Took test ride of FZ25. Was looking for R15S too but then FZ25 struck right notes. That's the common thing here. I was told 8 working days for RTO formalities to complete after that they can deliver the vehicle. Within one day, you'll get the number too.

My Bike Rear Led Tail Lamp Flickering without application of brakes.
During Standstill condition also the tail lamp tends to flicker on its own & irrespective of brake application.

What Is The Reason Behind This Issue?Anyone (i will be busy for 2 weeks so cant take it to service station).

You got it washed anytime earlier? It could be because of presence of stray water or moisture acting up your electrical to rear brake. Once that moisture is out, it should be good. Check if any visible wires have been damaged. It could be loose contact too.

ODO reading 2500 kms. Was pretty unhappy initially with the head light , rear view mirror, braking system & the horn. Now the things are like the braking is perfect from to reduce from 130kmph to 70kmph within 30mtrs approax. Head light is kind of okay for me got used to. The throw is actually good in dark but in highway the throw is not deep enough against the incoming lights from opposite lane. Changed the rear view mirror to that of RE TB 350, it's very effective now. Will change the horn to Roots.

Lots of people are talking about braking. It is not that it lacks the bite but it is more of getting used to. Manufactures gives us something after proper R&D. Braking is real good but then it depends how you use it. I use engine braking along with front and rear & don't use clutch till end.

I will upgrade my tires to Pirelli SD soon. This should help me with stability & braking. The used to vibe a lot post 70kmph even after 1st service but now it is settling down slowly and the vibes have reduced a lot. But yeah pillion on board the bikes definitely gets unsettled post 100kmph if ridden harshly.

Ownership has been pleasant and no troubles till now.
FZ25 was bought primarily for commuting purpose and ocassional weekend rides.

It perfectly matches my requirement for trouble free ownership, good city motorcycle with torque alway available, smooth and refined engine and finally easy on pocked.

390 was sold when it had done close to 48000 kms. It is a superb motorcycle but would need utmost care so it doesnt trouble you. I was very happy with it as it was largely trouble free and good one to ride.

This happens when either the bike has been washed or soaked in rain. But disappears after some time.
You can check the contact points for any loose contact, these are located at rear brake pedal lever.
