So, did my second service last Saturday. Had been facing three nags of late, namely tappet noise, vibrating left footpeg and false neutrals rarely. Have done 28 kms since and all three problems seem to be solved as of now. Here's what the SVC person did:
1. Tightened the master bolts of both front footpegs.
2. Tightened the gear shift lever bearing.
3. Did minor adjustments to the gear shift pinion.
Would provide an update after further riding.

After some exploration, disappointment with existing options, I am gravitating towards FZ25 as my next ride. I have gone through many ownership experiences posted here and I have few questions -

1. Is the engine bolt problem solved now in 2018 engines?
2. What can I do to fix rear disc brake problem?
3. Million dollar question - What about headlight? Any upgrade possible? If not, what kind of auxiliary lamps FZ 25 can handle comfortably given that it is an FI bike with ECU?
4. Any other problem that I need to know about?

Would appreciate inputs from fellow riders.

TIA,
- Manish

As far as I know Bybre pads are not available for Fz25 rear disc.Correct me If I am wrong..

Did you notice any improvement in gear shifting? Because in my bike 1st to 2nd gear shifting is still notchy..My bike has already crossed 10k.

This is resolved!
1. What can I do to fix rear disc brake problem?

There is actually no problem with rear brake

The headlight is decent enough for city use. If you are regularly tourer then generic aux lamps will do.

Yeah seems to be better. But need to ride more and harder.

Btw, are you using the Shell AX7 for your ride? If so, how good/bad is it compared to Yamalube?

My bike has no such vibration, except for at one particular RPM spot, which I believe every ride will have within a certain range. And, I don't think many has this issue, so it should definitely not be a major problem. Have you checked your chain slack? In most cases, it is the culprit w.r.t to vibrations found at the footpeg, under tank area etc.,
Yes shell is good compared to what you get from yamalube here.....we don't have synthetic yamalubes here ....just the basic one...and shell ax7 is very good. maybe 7500kms will see synthetic...but till then happy with semi!!!!!!

I have read here that rear disc pad is wearing out quickly, I was referring to that problem.

Subsequent to my post about my 2nd service, rode about 50 kms today, both on highways and the most crowded parts of Guwahati. On highways, the bike was smoother and more eager to do high speeds. Touched about a 120 kph pretty easily. In the city, riding through traffic was a hoot as usual, but there was absolutely no heating whatsoever. One observation though, mileage has dropped. Is that due to new engine oil?

Hello guys hope you all are doing fine.
I have clocked 6700 kms and today I heard sound from rear disc brake. On inspection it felt that shoes/pads are touching the disc. I softly tried to make gap between pad/shoe and the disc using a flat screw driver. Then there was no sound while moving the Tyre. But the sound started coming again after I applied rear brakes again.
I have faced disc brakes issues in old bike but facing such issue in new bike after roughly 7k kms seems odd to me.

FZ 25 rear brake seems to have problems with the disc pad, I asked 5-6 posts ago bout it and riazmomin said that there are no problems wit rear brake but many people seem to be reporting it after 6K running or so.

It might be the way the pedal has been positioned. Riders may have their foot lightly on the pedal all the time without noticing it.

I noticed this while riding one myself, my foot was always slightly pressing on the pedal.

On my gixxer the rear disc pad wore out in just 7000kms due to this. Once I recognised this, I altered the way I kept my foot on the peg, and there's negligible wear in the new pad after 5000kms.

Brakes are working fine. Doesn't seem like a case of worned disc or pads. It's just the sound of pads touching the disc.
