Guys..I trying to pick commuter performance bike. The final bikes are, rtr200 FI ( now have slipper clutch) and fz25. Frankly at this on road price in Bangalore, both bike missed the features like 6th gear, liquid cooling, better head light etc. I know this is a fz25 forum and some of you have already gone through this comparison . If you can advise me, that will be a great help.

Go for the apache it's well equipped with latest technology and features....fz25 is good but Apache is more value for money and also a good bike.....Originally posted by yathi View PostGuys..I trying to pick commuter performance bike. FZ25 if you want good low end torque (it pulls like a freight train) and a slightly relaxed riding position.Originally posted by yathi View PostGuys..I trying to pick commuter performance bike. RTR200 if you want a slightly sporty position (though not that much) and if you like to rev hard.
RTR has the better headlight, is more suited for riders below 6' in height.
Pillion maybe better on the FZ25.
Mileage is relatively the same. In the worst of Bengaluru traffic, you can expect some 32-36kmpl.Last edited by Shashank K R; 03-08-2018, 01:45 AM.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello guys,
I had an accident in the month of November. There were minor issues with the bike with the handle bar going for a toss. Now since I am unable to acquire proper range of my knee , it looks like I can't ride FZ25 anymore. After riding the bike for little above 10000 kms my observations are:
1. Good pick up.
2. Stable till 120 kmph or around not beyond, even in long stretches. I myself have done a top speed of 137. But then it is not meant for that.
3. Both the rider and pillion seat doesn't provide optimum comfort for long rides so I went for a seat customization.
4. The tire profile is not good enough, earlier I was planning for a upgrade of both front and rear to Pirelli.
5. Definitely a proper engine guard is required.
6. Rear view mirrors are not adequate so switched them to TB350 mirrors. It did wonder.
7. Aux lamp is required for night rides. The horn also seems inadequate to my liking.
Following are some pics of damages suffered and after recovery.
Considering I am 5.10. My both foots doesn't touch the ground equally.b SANE to b insane!

I was in your position before finalizing FZ25.Originally posted by yathi View PostGuys..I trying to pick commuter performance bike. The final bikes are, rtr200 FI ( now have slipper clutch) and fz25. Why FZ25, below!
1. I wanted a refined and smooth operating motor. Based on test rides, FZ25 was better.
2. Have more faith in Yamaha SVC than TVS SVC. TVS primary seller is scooters and SVCs squeeze as much as money for scooter servicing, so not much emphasis on motorcycles.
3. I am 6ft, so Fz25 is better ergonomically in every way compared to RTR.
4. Both FZ25 and RTR were not having ABS when I was about to purchase.
5. Reliability and Durability factor was key on deciding FZ25.
6. 50 additional cc's.2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme
2008 - Yamaha YZF R15
2009 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme
2013 - KTM 390 Duke
2017 - Yamaha FZ25

Hi,Originally posted by Abhilash831989 View PostI have booked my Fz25 yesterday, upon discussing VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) with the dealer, he told that for year 2018 Alphabet "J" has been allotted. As we all know that 10th digit of VIN is year of production and for year 2017 alphabet "H" was allotted, so ideally 2018 should be "I"
can anyone confirm this?
From which dealer are you buying this bike?

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I don't think you can get Both fuel injection and slipper clutch in one model. Also, I love the rtr but at the end of the day, fz25 is better in every aspect except headlight for daily driving.Originally posted by yathi View PostGuys..I trying to pick commuter performance bike. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
40kph in 5th gear means the rpm will be near 2500 rpm i guess,so bike will surely feel sluggish at those rpm,,try riding on 4th gear at that speed, above 50kph the bike can pull nicely in 5th gear (not at 40kph)Originally posted by JyotishmanS View PostFelt slight slack in acceleration yesterday, especially when trying to accelerate hard from about 40kph in top gear. I feel the reason is dirt in the fuel injector. Could anyone help.

Sorry to hear that. Hope you are in good health now.Originally posted by maadyy View PostHello guys,

Dude, what happened to your knee? what you mean by "proper range of your knee"? what happened to your leg? left or right? How it happened?

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
This brings me to an important aspect. Appropriate gearing is as important as maintenance itself i guess. I maintained this religiously in my fz16. The bike's still butter after 40000 kms. I have not been doing it in my fz25 and i feel slight stress between 75 and 80 kph now.Originally posted by niharx View Post40kph in 5th gear means the rpm will be near 2500 rpm i guess,so bike will surely feel sluggish at those rpm,,try riding on 4th gear at that speed, above 50kph the bike can pull nicely in 5th gear (not at 40kph)

Bike is not stressed at 75-80 kph ,engine is stressed only at high rpm ,vibration & stress at lower rpm are not same.
