By the time I relalised there is a turn it was too late for me as I was riding north of 65kmph. Sudden or panic braking caused a rear skid and the bike tilted right . My right knee got hit first and I broke my tibia proxima, i.e the bone below knee. This all happened even though I was in full gear. Well rest of the gear saved me from being severely injured. My helmet and my jacket took the hit. Knee guard saved my tibia and further complications.

Range is like bending your knee. Currently I can bend till 90 degree only. Max I can reach 140 degree with proper physiotherapy for another 6 months.

My suggestion to every FZ25 owner will be please install a proper cash guard, headlamp & tire. The stock tire doesn't have much traction so the rear tends to loose control pretty easily on panic braking.
So so sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you make a speedy recovery. Also, all the things you have mentioned are the only concerns in the bike. I believe that a better rear tyre and auxiliary lighting is a must for night rides. I changed my tyre on the day one and it's been paying me back. Countless incidents of idiots jumping in front of the bike and I have been jamming the brakes without any skidding. I don't do much night riding so I haven't installed auxiliary lights yet but I do agree that almost 90% of Indian bikes don't have necessary lighting for night riding. Again, wishing you all the best for your recovery.

        Hi,

Which tyre is preferable to restrict skidding during panic braking? Also pls mention the price of the same..

Only ABS or your riding skill can prevent skid. At max tires can improve cornering and better contact.

Soft compound tyres are better but they wear & tear off soon. Metzerlers & Pirelli Sports Demon are excellent tyres but they are expensive. MRF Masseters are the good option as few FZ owners I know are using it & quite happy with it(check CherryVlogs on YouTube).

I solely agree with Pirelli SD, they are better than any other brand, and I will always prefer Pirelli even over Michelin. Because I have my own set of awesome experience with them. But yeah the chance of skidding gets lesser only but not completely demolished. I went to my Service Center yesterday where I have kept my bike. The manager confirmed me of ABS coming soon for FZ25 and he is going to install that in my bike. Once I am okay to ride, the first thing I will do is get a customized crash guard and aux lamps. I will prefer to switch to Pirelli also, even if ABS gets installed.

Pirelli SD provide better traction considering the nature of the compound used. Angel GT is even better but that will be over kill for daily commute.

Which rear tyre did you change the default one to?

It's for the first time that the Dominar has outsold the fz25 in monthly sales in the 250 to 500 cc sports bike segment. The fz25 was the clear leader in this segment till now.

Best-Selling 250cc-500cc Bikes: Royal Enfield is the uncrowned king of 250-500cc segment in India. This becomes clear from the first three positions bagged by these bikes in January 2018. Classic series got 55,874 buyers in the first month of 2018 while Bullet series was good for 15,539 units. Any other sources? I can postpone my purchase a bit if ABS are indeed coming in FZ 25. Is it possible to fit them afterwards?

@ all the queries regarding my tyre change. I was in a big confusion too. I'm a bit of a tyre worm and I do know a thing or two about auto tyres in india. I usually don't like mrf and always preferred Michelin and pirelli. After booking the bike, I went for a ~100 kms ride to nainital on a friend's R15 v2 with a masseter. I was a bit nervous initially but after a few kms I started pushing her on corners. I was so so pleasantly surprised with the performance of the tyre. No noise, no skidding, no unwanted surprises. His tyre was almost 6000 kilometers run and still had 5000 kms of rubber left. This made me choose it for my bike and trust me the only better tyre is the pilot street radial which is almost twice the cost of the mrf,(3850).
