Hello folks , I have a small doubt, my bike has completed 4.2k on the odo now and now I am wondering if I should change the engine oil?. The engine oil was last changed during the first service at 1k on the odo. I went to the service guy and he suggested running another 500km and then when giving it for service they will change the engine oil, also nowhere in the yamaha manual they have mentioned about oil change in between the service interval.
Plesse guide me here as to whether I should run the bike till the next service interval or change tge engine oil asap.

Although bro above mentioned beat option but if u really want to change then go with Motul 7100. Its one of the best oil for bike.

Yep TY. Changed my rear tire to Michelin pilot street radial. But can't find radial tire for front. Any suggestions?

Getting a front tyre in that size is difficult. You'll have to upsize to 110/70, I won't recommend doing it due to the limited rim width.
The rear will be good enough for 150/60 since the Dukes and even the G310 use the same rim width for the 150.

The best thing you could do is to get the PSD (not radial) which might be available.

Guys i have 1 ODO, 2 trip meter 1 avg fuel consumption indicator and then the F one when it is reserve.. but apart from this i do see a provision in speedo console to indicate some status related to fuel economy. It is blank since day one.. my service engineer says its intentionally kept and nothing to worry about...is that common for all?

There should be an instantaneous FE indicator. When riding it should show some value at least. Try going to other SC

I completed my second service just last week at 4580 Kms. I stuck with Yamahas engine oil itself considering I want the engine to be fully set before moving to better fully synthetic oils.
I just took it for my first long ride after the service yesterday. I noticed the engine has become more free and throttle response sharper.
But my main issue now is VIBRATIONS . It seems to vibrating more than before second service, as I was expecting it to go down with more time, kms and services. The reason I say more is because, for the first time, My hands and Legs were tingling after a 100 Km ride, which has never happened till date(Have ridden upto 150kms continously before with no issues whatsoever). I didn't put in fuel as well after the service, so can't point towards bad fuel. Could it be some issue or is it normal??.

I havent done as many KM's as you have... my odo was 860 and i had pure intention to leave it for service today, hence took it out for a 100KM ride not pushing beyond 6K rpm though.. I felt the vibrations were too much right from 4500 rpm. In my FZS i used to have the same amount of vibration some where around 7k or 8k rpm. Really surprised to feel this.. informed the service engineer about it, he said he will tighten the nuts and bolts, that should solve. Will take it for a spin to see how that feels after tightening the nuts and bolts..

Hope this video will help you. The instantaneous mileage indicator will show real-time fuel economy, changes after every couple of seconds or so.

The stock front tyre is actually surprisingly good! I'd suggest you to wear it out and go for quality tyre like Metzeler.

See the problem with this size is that it's difficult to get a brand other than MRF. You'll have to upsize to get metzelers.

But you're right, it's the rear which is horrible.

My opinion is, don't go for self-induced oil changes at least till 7500 kms. The engine is more settled after that. You can even experiment with other oils like Motul, etc after that.
