Tried to message you but your inbox is full!Originally posted by Drifty View PostI am using Shell Ultra Fully Synth 10w40 since 3k kms odo reading reads 141xx kms now
My daily commute to office is 50-55kms,mix of highway and city ,what I have observed is Shell FS doesnt lose it viscosity at higher temperatures, engine noise is very less compared to what it was with Yamalube & Shell AX7 SS.
Still the oil didnt lose its properties much after 3k kms but will change it now on a safer side.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Guys I am not able to understand the difference between engine oils -motul 7100, 5100 or 300v. Further 7100 20 w40 is difficult to find whereas15w50, 10w40, 10w50 are available. Can one put these oil grades in fz25 ? Also the owners manual says not to put higher grade engine oil in it.

But the owners manual says engine oil grade should be 20w40

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Motul 5100 is a semi synthetic oil (that is, a mineral base with some percentage of synthetic mixed in).Originally posted by Sai ashish View PostGuys I am not able to understand the difference between engine oils -motul 7100, 5100 or 300v.

Motul 7100 and 300v are fully synthetic oils. 300v is mainly used for racing, where every bit of power matters.
That's strange, the training manual recommends 10w40 and I think even the manual mentions 10w40.

Looks smashing! Please post a picture of the throw of all the lights on. Also, you spent good amounts of money on your bike I'd suggest you to get a better rear tyre as well.Originally posted by Drifty View PostAttaching a few recent pics of my bike

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Wow, that is the most authentic looking mod I have ever seen, that windscreen looks better on FZ25 than the pulsar! The lower edge matches perfectly with the FZ25 console, as if the windscreen was designed specifically for it. All in all, you have completely transformed the looks and it's classy too, kudos!Originally posted by Drifty View PostAttaching a few recent pics of my bike

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
While the bike looks nice, I'd like to point out a common anomaly which is majorly persisted by Indian riders these days - those fog lamps' height. That's unacceptable.Originally posted by Drifty View PostAttaching a few recent pics of my bike

Those are fog lamps, let me reiterate - fog lamps. Those need to stay close to the ground by their very nature, usage and design. Read more on them, please.
In here(Pune), now there's an epidemic of guys (mostly of RE breed), who keep their fog lamps installed at the same height as their main lamp. If I was a cop, I'd fine them so hefty they won't even have money to fill petrol. But I have to live with the bloody blinding glares of a "fog light" installed as high as my dead hamster up in the heavens.
The bike looks smashing though, no disrespect.
Regards.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Its been one week with FZ25 and I'm fairly pleased with the bike. Handling and posture has been the biggest plus point amongst the current breed of 150-250cc bikes. 320km done on the Odo with 36kmpl on the city roads of Guwahati and with 42 kmpl (on console) on highways. Only thing creating a bit of concern is a slight squeaking sound coming at low speed from the front. I'm not able to find the exact source. First thought it was the disc but could not find any when rotated it with centre stand. Its March 2018 build and so far no coin rattling sound heard.
+
- Handling and seating posture
- Mileage (as of now)
- torque (for city rides) is encouraging.
- Looks...though fully plastic the whole design is subtle. Feel proud to take it to office.
- Exhaust note at low torque is bassy and at highs its just smooth brrrrrrrrrrrrrrmmmmm
-
- Headlight is a disappointment. Both throw and spread needs to be better
- Rear brake feedback is weak.
- Seat cushion
- Vibrations kick in after 65 km/s (hopefully will improve after first servicing)
- Mine had only single horn and it sounds like activa

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello FZ owners!
I currently own a Karizma ZMR(2014) and I am looking to upgrade to FZ250. Following are my queries:
1) I am concerned about the low end torque of FZ250 as i am a very sedate kind of rider and hardly revv above 7500rpm. The karizma is unbeaten in this regard. I use my bike for touring and a short commute daily. For touring in hills ZMR is a monster!! I hardly have to revv above 3500 rpm to climb a steep. Even 3500 is too much..the bike climbs steeps at even 2500rpm and trust me I Do Not Have to Change Gears on an Incline unless the rpm falls below 2000rpm!! It is phenomenal! Heck! i weigh 72kg and my brother weighs 92kg.. I was in the basement of a mall and coming out on a steep entry.I put the bike in first gear with both of us on it..it climbed fine..i revved to 3500-4000rpm and put it in 2nd gear..it took the second gear like a BOSS and was still not just maintaining the speed but accelerating on the steep. I was surprised to my core!
question is how is the driving of FZ in hills? i am sure it does not climb like a zmr but how is it? How many gear changes are required?
2)Would the bike really be an upgrade considering its only a difference of 25cc?Engine Torque Curve Prediction from Stroke length
Looking for my NEXT bike

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Fz25 have more low end torque than zmr in each gear. Its best mountain goat with perfect riding position, light weight (148 kg), furious low end torque. You will be satisfied by its performance on hills compared to zmr.Originally posted by Sahil Goel View PostHello FZ owners!
