Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Tappet noise is not an issue in FZ25, it is intentionally set loose by the company for the engine to breath well. Check with the service center of the valve clearance is within the acceptable limit. Having it too tight to arrest the noise will affect the engine's performance.Originally posted by Hugo Mishra View PostHello,
Please help me. I need an to know if there are any good service centers/private mechanics who can fix tappet noise issue. I am looking for somebody from around Noida/Delhi. Has anyone got it fixed in their bike ?
I get my bike serviced from J. M. Motors, sector 10, Noida. That's where I bought it also. Even after 3 attempts (4 including 2nd free service) they are just not able to fix it. I get this weird sound between RPM 4300 to 5800. And this is the sweet spot which I prefer to ride in. So you can understand how annoying it is for me.
I don't have any other problems clutch, gear, vibrations(I had apache 160 before this
) are all Okay for me. I have done 3500km on it so far. Mileage I get around 33-35 in city and around 38-41 on highways. So its fine.
Please help me with this. I may have to sell the motorcycle if I don't get it fixed.
Wear a good helmet, you wont hear the tappet noise.

Don't worry, i repeat, don't worry about tappet noise. It's just an annoyance. And don't tinker with the engine for it too. You might just worsen the case.Originally posted by Hugo Mishra View PostHello,

Pulsar and Apache RVMs' are really great. KTMs' are bad.Originally posted by Harrisoncool View PostGuys need a suggestion, i know many have changed the rear view mirrors to KTM's, apache and Pulsars. Out of these which one has miminum blinds and suits well for FZ25?

I am not aware of anyone who has and that's understandable. PDR is a pure bred track tyre with ultra soft rubber compound. It will be very damage prone on our bad roads, will hardly last 7-8k kms and is unnecessarily expensive at 4-5k INR. Not to mention the loss of acceleration and fuel economy due to wider footprint.Originally posted by Richustanly View PostAnybody tried pirelli Diablo Rosso 110/70 for front?
Is your stock tyre worn out?

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
The rim width is just 2.5", 110/70 will be pinched and form a exaggerated curved profile, not to mention that DR2s already have a curved profile. The front of the bike will fall into corners very very easily while the rear won't so easily. It will result in a weird handling bike unless you change the rear to a tyre with a similar profile.Originally posted by Richustanly View PostAnybody tried pirelli Diablo Rosso 110/70 for front?
There won't be any loss in performance as the pinched profile will give more or less the same contact patch as before.
Also it will last lesser than the stock tyres due to the soft compound. Maybe 15-20k maximum.
Tl;dr unless you corner a lot and ride hard, DR2 isn't really required for this bike. It'll suit the R3/Duke/RC/Ninja better.Last edited by Shashank K R; 03-28-2018, 01:29 PM.

No it's in good condition. My cousin has brand new spare PDR. He is willing to sell it for 2500. Does wider footprint affect handling and braking?Originally posted by Amrit.Singh View PostPulsar and Apache RVMs' are really great. KTMs' are bad.

Ok TY. My rear Tyre is michelin pilot street radial 140/70. Michelin 110/70 better?Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostThe rim width is just 2.5", 110/70 will be pinched and form a exaggerated curved profile, not to mention that DR2s already have a curved profile. Nope, it'll do the same thing, although it is not as curved as the DR2 and may provide slightly more contact patch.Originally posted by Richustanly View PostOk TY. My rear Tyre is michelin pilot street radial 140/70. Michelin 110/70 better?
If you want a grippier front tyre, then search for Pirelli sport demon in 100/80.Last edited by Shashank K R; 03-28-2018, 01:53 PM.

I think tappet sound is there when bike is in idle as well. Coin rattle sound is in around 5000rpm. I got rid of this by switching away from yamalubeOriginally posted by Hugo Mishra View PostHello,

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I tried Apache and KTM rear view mirrors. KTM ones provide best view but it extends beyond the handle bar. Apache one doesn't provide a great view. It has blinds. But it doesn't vibrate. You can try the pulsar LS one. I have spares of thatOriginally posted by Harrisoncool View PostGuys need a suggestion, i know many have changed the rear view mirrors to KTM's, apache and Pulsars. Really? What was your odo reading when you switched? And to what brand and viscosity?Originally posted by hemanta View PostI think tappet sound is there when bike is in idle as well. Coin rattle sound is in around 5000rpm. I got rid of this by switching away from yamalube

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
The coin rattle happens at around 5000rpm. It goes along with increased vibrations set the same rpm. I tried motul 7100. The coin rattle went away. Hut there was a drawback. Bike became a bit more viby. Not at 5000rpm like earlier. But throughout the rev band. But only slightly soOriginally posted by JyotishmanS View PostReally?
