I guess its all the FZ25's, as far as i have asked everyone has reported the same. But few feel its manageable after 2nd service. Its not the tappet induced vibration as my tappet was adjusted to company specifics in first service, yet vibration persist.

It would be a sharp buzz that starts at 4.5k rpm and increases as rpm goes high... its across all the gears. Foot pegs, tank seat and handlebars vibrate. Just imagine a non maintained 100cc bike in full throttle, thats the level of vibration i got.

Lets hope for the same. In my case a dedicated engineer had come to witness the issue but till now i dont see any improvement in the quality. They even got me a updated clutch assy that was super good and had much bite than we expected but still now dont know why they removed it from my bike. Till now i never got a explanation about it.

What was your issue Dinesh? Hard gear shift or vibration?

Also, I have couple of more queries for FZ 25 owners -

1. Is it true that Yamaha has changed the vendor for rear brakes for newer 2018 models? Which one do they use now?
2. Someone mentioned FZ25 ABS launching soon, what's the timeline for this? Not Apr 2019 I hope
I live in a place where I have to take the bike to certain no road places whether I like it or not. But both the tyres have never given me a bad experience. But remember, soft compound tyres will be prone to damage if constantly driven on bad roads with deep potholes and sharp stones. I'd suggest you to go for a harder tyre like the Ceat zoom xl, ralco speed blaster or even vee rubber. Even pilot sporty is a decent tyre for bad roads but don't expect exceptional grip.
Also, I am unaware of any change in the vendors of the brakes. And there's no point in indulging rumors until officially confirmed.

Never pilot sporty. It will make its lack of wet grip very apparent. Even the dry grip is average.

The pilot Street is the better tyre, and good for bad roads. I used it for 10000kms on my gixxer without a single puncture.

I have made it clear that it is not the best tyre available in terms of grip but it is not that bad any means. I would describe it as "average" for grip and "adequate" for daily use. But it's hard compound is surprisingly good for pothole ridden roads or even no roads. I am using it in a Pulsar 180 and we constantly ride it on Nainital and nearby hilly roads and it is yet to give a terrible experience. Also, my friend rode from Chandigarh to Gurgaon, then Gurgaon to Haldwani and he was satisfied with the ride. He especially applauded it's performance on the bad roads.
Note: It's a fairly new tyre (nov 2017 make) and they *MAY* have improved it. The tyre seems immortal as it has done around 10k kilometers and yet it has the same tread pattern when it was new. And Yes the pilot street is a better tyre but it's definitely on the expensive side. Masseter at 3.6-3.8k INR is a much better deal at Pilot Street which is around 5.6-6k INR.

The pilot sporty was horrible for me. It was sliding all over the place on wet roads, and I managed to lock the front wheel. This was on a P220 with both rear and front pilot sportys. Bad (dusty too) roads, well, it was sliding on braking, it was terrifying. This was on a commute. I would never recommend this tyre to anyone after this experience.

This same tyre was a soft compound tyre initially, and I think the same tyre is soft compound in other countries like Indonesia. I'm not sure about any improvements, but recently I have seen others complaining about it. People have said that the tyre compound changed after manufacturing started in India.

Since he doesn't mind the (slightly higher) initial cost, I suggested pilot Street radial, though the masseters are very similar at nearly half the cost.

manishh - very long lasting, good for bad roads (Amrit's experience), average dry grip and mediocre wet grip - pilot sporty. Will be great for straight line touring.

Let me chime in.... The pilot sporty are biased ply whereas Street are radial... Please go for Street... My experience with sporty has been horrible too...
Otherwise pick masseter which is pretty good and competent tries for the price point...

I personally have no link with Michelin to promote any of their tyres. I just shared my experience which has been alright, thanks to Almighty. Also, another tough tyre I have heard good about is the Ralco Speed blaster. Here is something to read-

Which one is this with 10K run and still same thread pattern? I'd like to buy this...

Michelin pilot sporty not good for wet surface also bad reviews.

Exactly what I said. But some others like Amrit did have a good experience with the tyre.

I NEVER DEFENDED IT'S WET SURFACE PERFORMANCE!!!!! PLEASE READ!
The only thing I said was that it has average grip on normal surface but due to it's hard compound it is very abuse friendly for broken and pothole filled roads.

Hello,

Please help me. I need an to know if there are any good service centers/private mechanics who can fix tappet noise issue. I am looking for somebody from around Noida/Delhi. Has anyone got it fixed in their bike ?

I get my bike serviced from J. M. Motors, sector 10, Noida. That's where I bought it also. Even after 3 attempts (4 including 2nd free service) they are just not able to fix it. I get this weird sound between RPM 4300 to 5800. And this is the sweet spot which I prefer to ride in. So you can understand how annoying it is for me.

I don't have any other problems clutch, gear, vibrations(I had apache 160 before this ) are all Okay for me. I have done 3500km on it so far. Mileage I get around 33-35 in city and around 38-41 on highways. So its fine.

Please help me with this. I may have to sell the motorcycle if I don't get it fixed.
