Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Yes that's why I stuck with the stock front tyre. I am also exploring options in the 100/80 17 size. Currently only good tyre other than the stock MRF is the Pirelly sport demon which is a decent touring tyre and is by no means a big leap over the stock. Let's hope MRF releases the Masseter front in 100/80 17 soon.Originally posted by Shashank K R View Post

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I have observed that vibrations appear specially just after new engine oil change (yamalube) for few hundred kms but automatically settles down when engine oil become used. It may be the characteristic effect of oil to this particular fz25 engine.Originally posted by Joe29 View PostI completed my second service just last week at 4580 Kms. I stuck with Yamahas engine oil itself considering I want the engine to be fully set before moving to better fully synthetic oils.
I just took it for my first long ride after the service yesterday. I noticed the engine has become more free and throttle response sharper.
But my main issue now is VIBRATIONS
. It seems to vibrating more than before second service, as I was expecting it to go down with more time, kms and services. The reason I say more is because, for the first time, My hands and Legs were tingling after a 100 Km ride, which has never happened till date(Have ridden upto 150kms continously before with no issues whatsoever). I didn't put in fuel as well after the service, so can't point towards bad fuel. Could it be some issue or is it normal??.

Sometimes it could be the chain that is on the tighter side, some mechanics tend to over tighten it during service.Originally posted by Joe29 View PostI completed my second service just last week at 4580 Kms. make sure the chain slack is at spec or maybe a wee bit more. and remember the chain 'tightens' up once you sit on the bike, and if you a heavy weight person it just gets tighter.
i personally prefer a little more slack than spec on my duke 200, a tight chain could cause a buzz on pegs that over a long ride make you legs feel tingly/buzzy. i've had that happen a couple of times. usually after riding a few 100km the chain would losen a bit and it feels better. i prefer to rather set the slack a bit more during adjustment itself.

Pirelli sport demon is better than masseter by a good margin, have used both and i prefer pirelli over mrf anyday.Originally posted by Amrit.Singh View PostYes that's why I stuck with the stock front tyre. I know they're available for very less price on amazon, have purchased few tyres from them.Originally posted by keith_j_snyder2 View PostHere u can have this. Pirelli Sport Demon 140/70 -17 M/C 66H Tubeless Bike Tyre, Rear (Home Delivery) https://www.amazon.in/dp/B01JA7LMR8/..._GAIRAb5H675J1

They sell slightly older tyre, take it easy for first 500 kms after that the tyres perform well.

The rear is easily available in various brands, while the front is available in MRF, Ceat and Pirelli (PSD), excluding the mediocre Michelin.Originally posted by keith_j_snyder2 View PostHere u can have this. Even the front PSD is difficult to find here in Bengaluru.Last edited by Shashank K R; 03-19-2018, 12:16 AM.

I would go ahead with PSD for the front.Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostWe were talking about the front tyre only. The rear is easily available in various brands, while the front is available in MRF, Ceat and Pirelli (PSD), excluding the mediocre Michelin.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Actually I have ridden a friend's now sold continental gt for at least a few thousand kilometers with sport demons and I can't spot the difference between the two of "a good margin". If anything, masseter definitely has better grips on the corners once warmed up. Sport demons are excellent touring tyres as they provide a great balance between grip and tyre life. His rear lasted around 18-19k even after being driven around nainital and the front last 20k+. In my personal opinion, you can't go wrong with either of them. I have had a few panic braking incidents and the tyres on my fz25 are yet to squeal.Originally posted by Rahul.g View PostPirelli sport demon is better than masseter by a good margin, have used both and i prefer pirelli over mrf anyday.

The touring counterpart of pirelli sport demon is called sport dragon.Originally posted by Amrit.Singh View PostActually I have ridden a friend's now sold continental gt for at least a few thousand kilometers with sport demons and I can't spot the difference between the two of "a good margin". I have used PSD on CBR, the mrfs are really good but pirelli performs better.
But its different for everyone, whatever tyre inspires confidence in you, go for it.

According to pirelli, the sport demons are "destined for touring". I guess these are stickier than the sport dragons, maybe for "sport" touring.Originally posted by Rahul.g View PostThe touring counterpart of pirelli sport demon is called sport dragon.

On this bike, a pilot Street/masseter should be more than enough. My friend's having a blast with the pilot Street radials.

Engine does seem to be settling down or else I am getting used to it. Its just that it had become really smooth right before second service inspite of the oil being used for 3.5k kms and was expecting the same to continue.Originally posted by s1d View PostSometimes it could be the chain that is on the tighter side, some mechanics tend to over tighten it during service.make sure the chain slack is at spec or maybe a wee bit more. and remember the chain 'tightens' up once you sit on the bike, and if you a heavy weight person it just gets tighter. i personally prefer a little more slack than spec on my duke 200, a tight chain could cause a buzz on pegs that over a long ride make you legs feel tingly/buzzy. i've had that happen a couple of times. usually after riding a few 100km the chain would losen a bit and it feels better. i prefer to rather set the slack a bit more during adjustment itself.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Engine vibrations will increase till about 6000 kms, post which you must get your fi cleaned. Get checked for any anomalies in valve clearance then. If everything is fine, go for better engine oil post 7500. Engine will get quiet.Originally posted by Joe29 View PostI completed my second service just last week at 4580 Kms.
