Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
If you are used to DIY then attempt it. You will have to remove the tank and fairing to access it easily. Else find a mechanic familiar with KTM, the cleaning process is similar. Quite time consuming to do correctly so SC won't do it. Can look online also how it works.Originally posted by khan7861 View PostHow to check whether throttle body is clean or not

At what odo reading did you face the throttle lag problem? I also have a similar one slightly at 18900 kms.Originally posted by Kirankarunan View PostThrottle body the SC doesn't clean. Just the injector. Mine also had similar behaviour. Then I cleaned it and became perfect. You can check it yourself. If very dirty, worth cleaning. Faulty fuel pump will show up in the diagnostic I think. Check your battery also. Because each time engine cuts out and then restart can increase wear.

About 21000 or so. But I was not able to work on it till about 24000km. After cleaning it's like new. I have written about my experience a few pages back.Originally posted by JyotishmanS View PostAt what odo reading did you face the throttle lag problem? Can you share your whole experience again? What were the problems you faced? How did you clean it? What were the changes afterward?Originally posted by Kirankarunan View PostAbout 21000 or so. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I'm planning to buy fz25. Wished if full black gloss was available. Near my home dealers ride it down from stock yard.
It is 1.64 OTR here.
New Honda cb300 r has waiting period in Kerala.I'm a responsible rider. It doesn't matter what you ride, but what matters is how you ride.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
After few months of trying (fiddling) with the front suspension, I've given up on the front suspension alignment issue. Yamaha refused a replacement and instead, tinkered with the setting again and again.
In the end, a friend of mine (mechanic) stripped the front end, checked everything and put it back, no dice. All parts were fine, no damage. I'll probably ride the bike this way until I have loads of cash to spend on replacing the front end. I've far more important issues in life than to worry about this.
Leaving that aside, the bike has been wonderful. After 8000kms, the engine has become free and smooth. The "tappet" noise and coin rattling have gone down to negligible levels. There's no/negligible tappet/rattle noise even after spirited rides in hot weather.
I tried Motul 5100 10w40 (available on Amazon). Very similar to Shell AX7/Advance Ultra. Much less rattly than Yamalube (even though it's supposed to be supplied by Motul) even after 3500kms. Vibrations at 5k and 7k+ are more or less the same with these oils. They're all quite similar, except when considering engine noise with Yamalube (personal experience).Originally posted by Shamanth Gowda View PostHas anyone tried motul 5100 15w50? Motul 7100 10w40 is good now for this bike?
7100 makes the engine feel a bit rough/gruff/coarse. On the other hand, I feel that the engine feels more "aggressive" and eager to rev. Rode my friend's bike and my bike back to back to feel the difference.
There's no difference between nitrogen and air for our tyres. Normal air is sufficient. 25/29 feels just about right for me. 27/31 is fine, no issues. 30/35 is overkill and makes the bike feel as if it's floating on air.Originally posted by Narender Reddy View PostHello,
What tire pressure does everyone maintain? On the swing arm & manual it says 25F 29R. So I filled it with nitrogen of the values 27F 31R, as the technician insisted that the manufacturer recommended values are way too low. He suggested 30F 35R. But I didn’t want to go overboard.
I'm a bit late to this one, but if the whole body of the bike vibrates at around 3k RPM, the swingarm bearings may have worn out. Watch this video to see the symptoms - https://youtu.be/QmMGdhqUNnkOriginally posted by Rahul J A View Post4, some vibration started arising in front handle bar after 19000 kms and now it feels like some thing is bothering the bike to not cruise smoothly ( very evident at 5th gear 50kmph ) i have an instinct that its because of worn out front tyres and the tyre pressure is all well. Do u guys have any other reason?Hi, I'm very late in replying, but do you ride at lower RPMs majorly? My bike feels rough when ridden at lower RPMs a lot. Give it a good ol' rip once in a whileOriginally posted by Joe29 View PostIt has done close to 14k kms now. Roughness in general and not rpm based. It was so smooth after fourth service, 2 weeks back that I was surprised it was my bike.
1. Haven't checked valve clearance, as tappet noise is a part of this bike hence not sure.
2. Done
3. Not done, will have to see during next service I guess.
4. Next service.
5,6,7,8 done just two weeks back during second service
Will look into the points you mentioned during next service. Thanks.
And yes, I agree gearshifts became a lot better with Shell. But I feel the engine vibes had become unusually high in just 2500 kms using it. Not sure, but anyways, I plan to change the bike by this year end, so will keep warranty intact.
.
Also, I think you should adjust the valve clearances. After 7-8k kms, engine (tappet) noise reduces by 90% (unless out of spec).
Gearshifts are not so bad once the clutch lever play is set to 2-5mm, as mentioned by slopegatri. I've noticed that Whitefield Yamaha do not clean the front sprocket area, you may want to clean it as well.
The stock tyres suck. Masseters will improve the handling quite a bit, but the bike in general doesn't corner too well compared to the likes of the Dukes/CBR/CB. Overall handling is neutral in my opinion.Last edited by Shashank K R; 04-20-2019, 02:43 AM.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi all, has anyone experienced a wobbly headlight? Though it is fixed firmly to the handle the headlight still wobbles when there are small bumps.
I've been observing this since I was riding the bike back home from the showroom for the first time, a month back to be exact.

When did the problem first appear? Was there some kind of fall or jerk to the bike before you started feeling it?Bajaj Pulsar 180 - 2007 to 2015
