Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I understand what you're saying regarding the engine oil grade. I too feel you should get xw50. 10w40 is recommended taking an average all over India. You sound get 10w50.Originally posted by roadrunner10 View Post

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi team,
Am planning to book a ride in this week and brought quotation from couple showrooms around Coimbatore, Tamilnadu. Everywhere they add accessories as mandatory one which cost around 3.5k. Whether it's same in all places?
TIA

Thanks buddy!Originally posted by Shamanth Gowda View Post3 free services and 4 paid services. Service interval is 5000 km or once in 6 months. There are no free accessories. You have to bargain and get them for free with the bike. I got tank pad, skid plate and hand grips with bike.
Got my bike delivered
and completed approx 100 kms, I have a few observations not sure if its with everyone or just me.
- The ride for first 100 kms is bit hard, hoping for it to get smoother after few kms.
- The Headlight is quite shaky both horizontally and vertically do i need to worry?
- the tail light lamp focused towards the rear number plate is heating a lot.
- Rear brakes are hardly stopping the bike even after hard press hope it is just being new and will start gripping after some running.
Thanks in advance!

1 You meant hard gear shifts, yes it'll be hard in city ride but once you shift in higher rpm it'll be smooth. After few thousand KM it'll get smoother overallOriginally posted by Imsanky View PostThanks buddy!

2 Yes headlight is shaky but nothing to worry about. I have completed 22k km and no issues with it.
3 Change the tail lamp to led one. It's a 5 minute DIY. You'll get videos in you tube. I suggest life of pal videos He has many other useful videos for fz25. Also you can change the pilot lamp to led too
4 Rear brake bite is not sharp and needs more usage for it to become responsive

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I assume what you write above is about the rough ride after 30-40 mins in heat. You probably guessed it right.. I am facing issues when I run bike in noon sun for 30 mins and then it gives issue to start. I never faced any difficulty about the no start but it takes little longer to fire up. I did not notice the fuel level that closely, but you are probably right there too, day before I refueled and the level is not 2 dots above half. I will keep an eye on the fuel and the roughness. And let me know if i am right below -Originally posted by Kirankarunan View Post
You can check with keeping the tank cap open and riding. If the engine is performing smoothly after, then it's related to the emission control or pressure valve on the fuel pump. If parked in sun for a while also sometimes engine won't start and you need to open the fuel cap. It's an irritation but learnt to keep more than half tank petrol usually.
If I keep the fuel cap open and ride and the bike runs smooth, there is issue with emission control or pressure valve.

Yeah, first 100 - 200 kms are hell on your toe. I was in same situation a month before. But don't worry, it will smooth out slowly. Keep close eye on rpm and engine heat. Do read in manual about engine break in. I never rode my bike beyond 3000 rpm for first 300 kms. After that I went till 4000 - 4500 couple of times for max 20-25 seconds. Post 600 kms I gathered all my guts and raced engine till 5500 for 20 secs max. Now I am on ~1000 and taking bike to service tomorrow. But till today my bike runs around 2500 - 4000 rpm.Originally posted by Imsanky View PostThanks buddy!

Headlight shake is fine to some extent. You will eventually learn to ignore it.
Number plate lamp heats up a lot and you are correct. Nothing wrong as such but changing LED might help as said by Shamanth Gowda. shamnath Gowda - Any suggestions which LED will fit in there.
Rear brakes are soft but will become responsive as you use. I did face this issue but not its been fine.

Whats the onroad price in Coimbatore? In Pune its was exactly 1.6 lacs for me.Originally posted by Mohankumar Bruiser View PostHi team,

^ roadrunner10 - Pertaining to the change in behaviour in hot conditions, my assumption is as you mentioned. But I haven't found a fix for it besides keeping the tank more than half full most times.Last edited by Kirankarunan; 04-09-2019, 06:44 PM.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
More or less same, they qouted 1,62,200 with accessories and helmet. I rejected hemlet and asked for discount in accessories. Finally ended with 1,59,200 (1000 for helmet + 1000 for accessories).Originally posted by roadrunner10 View PostI assume what you write above is about the rough ride after 30-40 mins in heat. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I have started following Life of Pal Youtuber from a few days now. Great DIYs especially for FZ25.Originally posted by Shamanth Gowda View PostChange the tail lamp to led one. It's a 5 minute DIY. I do have a doubt though, I wanted to change even the turn indicators to the ones found on Duke which are LEDs. Will this void the warranty?
Thanks & regards,
Narender

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Ji apart from warranty void there are some criticality. Firstly for changing to LED wiring connection is different so need to tamper the stock wiring harness. Secondly LED will blink fastly than stock due less power consumption, so relay need to replace or resistor to be added in the circuit.
So if there is any connection issue or short circuit happens during above process battery and whole wiring may get affect. Still need to install do it with expertise person.
Miles for smile...!!!

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Bro how to check the triple tree setting and racer set condition? or should I ask the svc guys to do it? I had suffered a strong bump in the front a few months back and since then my handlebar doesn't feel straight. It feels like it is a bit forward from the left side. I complained about this at the svc and they said handlebar is bent and replaced it. It did feel a bit better than before but the issue still persists.Originally posted by JyotishmanS View PostCheck the triple tree setting and the racer set condition. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Finished 500km with apollo alpha h1. Previously had Michelin Pilot Street Radial . My options were Pirelli diablo Rosso 2 and alpha h1. Selected Rosso 2 for replacement but available tyres were old stock so decided go with alpha h1. Compared with pilot street alpha is better. It socks up road irregularities better than PSR. Once tyre is warmed up it stick to the road like glue and more stable in high speed.

Any difference in handling compared to stock tires ? i'm assuming alpha is 110/70.Originally posted by Richustanly View PostFinished 500km with apollo alpha h1. Yes it is 110/70. Don't remember compared to stock 100/80 . My earlier tyre was Michelin PSR which is also 110/70 & changed it after 22k . Compared with PSR handling is better.Originally posted by slopegatri View PostAny difference in handling compared to stock tires ? i'm assuming alpha is 110/70.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello everyone. Got my yamaha fz25 abs yesterday. Already done 100+ kms.
Following are my experience till now.
-> The gear shift is hard, as mentioned by most of us.
-> The squeaking noise from front wheel, while just dragging the bike or just rotating the front wheel. Don't know why.
-> In traffic, sometimes the bike stopped, while in the 1st gear, just by releasing the throttle while the clutch is slightly engaged. Ay Idea on this?
-> With pillion the bottom hits sometimes, if not careful on some nasty speed breakers.
-> Overall ride was smooth and good.
Attaching some pics.
