Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Since last Friday, whenever I would apply the rear brakes a bit enthusiastically (not hard braking), there would be a sound of brake shoes being rubbed a bit too hard into some metal. This occurred more frequently if I would brake in the 1st or 2nd gear. I made 3 prelim conclusions:
1. Brake shoes have dislodged somehow (checked, wasn't the case)
2. the ABS is getting activated a bit too early (this is my first bike with ABS, so dunno if that's how ABS braking sounds/works, online ABS videos didn't help)
Took the bike to the nearest service centre, showed it to a guy, he opened the rear disc pads, cleaned them and the rear braking unit with air pressure, installed the brake pads. The problem was still there, though now the sound wasn't coming at the earlier braking levels(took harder braking to get that friction sound). He said that ABS bikes will have that noise coming, though I'm not sure whether he had any knowledge of how ABS on bikes works.
What could this be? Is it the ABS acting too intrusive or something else?
Thanks a lot in advance.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi folks! I took delivery of new 2019 FZ 25 ABS yesterday. This is my first bike and I am new to bikes in general. After returning home and riding at night I noticed that the headlight beam is shaking a little bit especially noticeable in my apartments parking entry and exit. On physically inspecting the headlight there is a fair bit of play when I press it with my hand. Please check this video https://youtu.be/kLKMcYv4I20 other owners please confirm if this should be a cause for concern?

Probably just dirty pads. Or could be some lube/liquid on the rotor. Update if it goes away.Originally posted by MadEyeFoodie View PostSince last Friday, whenever I would apply the rear brakes a bit enthusiastically (not hard braking), there would be a sound of brake shoes being rubbed a bit too hard into some metal. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
The headlight unit of the fz25 is shaky. Not anything of concern, I have done 18000+ kms with this headlight, and it hasn't fallen off.Originally posted by flukeduke View PostHi folks! Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi Folks,
I booked a new fz 25 ABS matte blue
, I have a couple of questions,
1. How many free services do we get?(The sales guy told me its 5: first after 1000 kms and subsequent services after 3000 kms each)
2. What are the standard accessories we get along with the bike?(for e.g: he said he will be providing with lady foot rest and engine guard/leg guard)
Thanks in advance!

3 free services and 4 paid services. Service interval is 5000 km or once in 6 months. There are no free accessories. You have to bargain and get them for free with the bike. I got tank pad, skid plate and hand grips with bike.Originally posted by Imsanky View PostHi Folks,

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello people,
I have finally found ladies’ footrest for my FZ25. It turns out FZS V3 & FZ25 gets the same footrest. Of course it’s kind of a jugad fix as the screws go into the places they’re not supposed to, to withstand some weight. I’ll share the pics if anyone wants em.
I first thought of ordering a custom footrest from Lluvia Industries, which was promising in the durability department but was held with only one screw. So I backed out & went with Yamaha Spares.
Also, when my bike was getting the fix, the mechanic seem to test ride the bike & found out that the gears were hard (The gear shifts were so annoying that it drove me crazy, I thought I will get it checked in my first service). So he adjusted a screw near the clutch lever. To my surprise, the gear change has changed. It’s literally a day/night transformation. Now I’m able to put my bike in Neutral without having to stall. Also the downshifts have improved massively. Sure, there’s occasional hard shift but it’s now smoother & hassle free.
(Small tip: May be everyone knows this by now, but when the gearshift feels hard or impossible to shift even when the clutch is engaged, please disengage & re engage the clutch with the engine rpm slightly higher & the shift happens. Of course this doesn’t work when you are travelling less than 10kmph & in a gear greater than third as you will stall the bike.)
The problem i think was even when I engage the clutch to the fullest, I feel it was only getting engaged to 80%. So when in gear & stationary with the clutch depressed, the bike had a slight movement. So the adjustment the mechanic did worked for my bike.
Another thing I have observed recently was that the speedo doesn’t show anything between 0kmph & 5kmph. That’s weird, is it the same with every FZ25? Haven’t seen such thing in any other bike which has a digital speedo.
Anyway, I’m a happy biker now.
Regards,
Narender

Yep, it's in every non abs fz25/fazer25. i don't know about abs version but it shouldn't have this issue as the speed sensor is shifted from crankcase to front/back wheel.Originally posted by Narender Reddy View PostHello people,

Yup, I have seen the same thing on two of my friend's first gen Fz.Originally posted by Narender Reddy View Post

And I own a 2014 R15 V2 and it is exactly the same. The speed starts from 0 to 5-6 kmph when accelerating and vice versa when stopping.
I have never seen less than 5-6 kmph on it in past 5 years on it. It jumps straight to 0, so I guess its normal for digital speedos.I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.
