Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
not really because those are angled downwards (spot beam) which is better than upward facing low height lights. and i only use it when some idiotic driver doesn't switch to low beam. and most of the time when there's no incoming traffic and i need more lights, i switch it on in medium intensity.Originally posted by eliksir View PostLED lamps at such a height must be a nightmare for oncoming traffic.
basically i try to minimize the glare on inc traffic as much as possible. also i only use them on long trips, in city i just remove it because most likely it will get stolen.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi. All good points you mentioned. The manual says 10 to 15mm at the lever end which translates to 2 to 4 mm at where the lever and holder meet. Which is what I think you meant. It was confusing to me also at first.Originally posted by slopegatri View Postas for the hard gearshifts, set the clutch lever free-play to 2-4mm. i know owners manual says something around 10mm free-play, but having it 2-4mm makes gearshifts much more light and smooth.

Nope, i'm also talking about free-play at the lever end, manual says 10mm something, but after trial and error i have found 2-4mm is much better. give it a try and see.Originally posted by Kirankarunan View PostHi. Oh okay. Sure thanks. That's very minimal clearance. I am waiting for a new clutch cable as the original had frayed slightly near the engine end. Will give it a shot.Originally posted by slopegatri View PostNope, i'm also talking about free-play at the lever end, manual says 10mm something, but after trial and error i have found 2-4mm is much better. give it a try and see.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
yeah its very minimal, but on fz25/xt250 the push lever assembly (other lower end of clutch wire) itself has around 2-3mm free play. you can even test it by yourself, try pulling the clutch lever 2mm at a time, and watch push lever assembly, it moves around 2-3mm something but clutch doesn't disengage.Originally posted by Kirankarunan View PostOh okay. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello Everyone. Purchased one (ABS) yesterday. On-road approx 1.55 Lakhs(Delhi). Upgraded from a Discover 125, so needless to say the jump in power is appreciated while not being scary.
Initially I had plans to get the new 2019 Dominar, but the wait period and the apparent need more than want (I just needed 250CC for a daily 10km drive to and from office) made me go for this and I'm seriously not regretting the smooth engine, bassy note and the muscular front.
Taking it slow for the running in period, will take all inputs from this amazing thread.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello Again,
First of all apologies for long delays in responses. I am travelling a lot since last two weeks….
I got my bike on Saturday, It’s a matt black beast which looks meanest of all out there. Till today I have ridden the bike for 200+ kms. The first impression is really good.. I would not say great as I might have expected a lot. I would go one by one through the various topics –
Riding posture – This is swept back and puts little pressure on hands. After a while I am getting used to this posture and should not be an issue.
Power Delivery – Its awesome. It feels really great to have this power handy which could beat hands down most of the vehicles out there. The throttle response is quick and it given confidence while overtaking. I usually raise RPM till 4500 periodically for proper break in and overtaking at this is piece of cake in traffic.
Gear Shift – For first 50 to 100 kms, the gear shift was super hard. I mean my left toe started hurting. Post 100 kms or so its been smoothing out. I found false neutral once.
Engine – The engine seems bit noisy and hot. Well, it’s a new engine and as per previous posts it should smoothen out. There are vibrations around 4500 RPM which also should go away over the time. Overall it seems very refined and does not shy away from raving. I have not gone beyond 4500 to 5000 RMP because of break in but seems very good with this RMP range and goes there quickly.
Headlight – This seems to be improved over the previous versions. I am not facing any difficulty in night on city roads. However, it could be different case on highways.
Pillion Seat – This is something my pillion rider complained a lot as those huge plastic extensions get in the way. This was complain from my wife as well.
While I am getting through the break in period, I must go easy on throttle and keep it under control all the way. However, on the city roads, I usually can make 50kmph which is possible at around 3000 RPM and sometimes, I race to 70kmph which is around 4000 RPM. I am seldomly gone beyond 4500 till now. However, user manual says that I can go beyond 4500 in first 500 kms but not for prolonged time.
I am trying to see if I can put some rim stickers as the bike is super black and literally cannot be seen in dark. The rim stickers should add some color and safety as well.
I will post some pictures as well, time permitting…
Also, someone asked me here to post the info around ABS. In the user manual, I could find only below page talking about ABS. I will go through the Service Manual and see if I can find more on it.
