Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Unfortunately that's not possible, the best SVC can do is let you read it at their workshop. they don't sell it. that's what happened with me, and i managed to take pictures and make a PDF file.Originally posted by rajan_coolrock00 View PostThank you very much
Is there any way we could get a hardcopy of the original manual?

How do we use these extra watts? I am planing to install aux lamps... just wondering where to connect the wires...directly to the battery or to ignition...Originally posted by JyotishmanS View PostAs I told, the wattage is there for the taking. But, how do you calculate heat tolerance?

Looks very cool too!Originally posted by slopegatri View Postyep, been using it for last 4 months. awesome lights.
With reference to my non starting issue I mentioned on page 600, turns out the OE battery had died. Nothing more. Was an interesting fault. The open circuit voltage was 13.1v. Above threshold of 12.4v. But in cranking was dropping to 6v and no starting. I came across some info that if the battery drops below 9.6v during cranking, it's about to fail. Which is easy to check once a while with a multimeter.
Charging voltage all within spec. Replaced with Amaron Beta series for Rs 1550 with old battery exchange. The guy who came and jump started mentioned the OE batteries come about 1.5 years and what we install comes usually about 3 years. Not sure how valid the info. Another thing I saw first time are these lithium battery powered jump start kits. Very cool. As small as a power bank but the nice ones can get about 10-13 starts on a charge.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Just 2 weeks after my bikes 4th service, it's back to its old rough self.
Does anyone else get that feeling of bike offering resistance to going freely, like something's holding it back?
I enjoyed nearly 2 weeks of a smooth and free feeling. I want it back.
Can anyone suggest what could be the reason for this?... Could it be clutch related, with the cable going lose or something or the chain?. Chain slack seems to be good and I have done only about 150 kms after the service.
The gear shifts were always hard and icky and still is, but got used to it anyways.
Not sure how to explain it to the SVC either. They might just find it normal.

This 2 valve motor is not as rev happy as 4 valve motorcycles.Originally posted by Joe29 View PostJust 2 weeks after my bikes 4th service, it's back to its old rough self.

Is this roughness specific to any rpm range ? what's the odo reading ?Originally posted by Joe29 View PostJust 2 weeks after my bikes 4th service, it's back to its old rough self.

you can following things -
1. check valve clearance, tell your svc to set intake valve to 0.07mm and exhaust valve to 0.10mm. i found this to be better for performance as well as smoothness as suggested by other member.
2. check both sprockets and chain, clean properly and lube with Yamaha chain lube.
if bike has done more than 10k kms-
3. re-grease both wheel bearings.
4. check if swing-arm has any horizontal play, get it checked.
5. change air filter.
6. change spark-plug.
7. get the injector cleaned.
8. re-grease throttle grip assembly.
as for the hard gearshifts, set the clutch lever free-play to 2-4mm. i know owners manual says something around 10mm free-play, but having it 2-4mm makes gearshifts much more light and smooth. also give shell advance ultra 10w40 a go, i found it to be better than Yamalube.Fz25 2018 (ABS retrofitted)

It has done close to 14k kms now. Roughness in general and not rpm based. It was so smooth after fourth service, 2 weeks back that I was surprised it was my bike.Originally posted by slopegatri View PostIs this roughness specific to any rpm range ? what's the odo reading ?

1. Haven't checked valve clearance, as tappet noise is a part of this bike hence not sure.
2. Done
3. Not done, will have to see during next service I guess.
4. Next service.
5,6,7,8 done just two weeks back during second service
Will look into the points you mentioned during next service. Thanks.
And yes, I agree gearshifts became a lot better with Shell. But I feel the engine vibes had become unusually high in just 2500 kms using it. Not sure, but anyways, I plan to change the bike by this year end, so will keep warranty intact.
