Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Guys, exactly a week back, I got hold of this wonderful motorcycle. Absolutely happy with the overall package that it comes with. The only issue that I've observed so far is a faulty fuel gauge. One time the fuel indicator would show 2 bars on the instrument console, and other time it'd show 3. Also, the plastic/fiber side panels feel a little flimsy.

Sometimes it happens when I have parked on uneven ground. Try a full tank and see. The plastic panels are different than used in other bikes. It's thinner but flexible and strong. Mine doesn't have any creaks after a year plus of use.Originally posted by imshivs7 View PostGuys, exactly a week back, I got hold of this wonderful motorcycle. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
10000 kms ownership review.
I bought the bike in September 2017. I was actually afraid of the bike's low end torque at first. But as I grew into it, it became a blessing. Soon, i was cutting through the smallest of traffic holes. The first month was mostly joy rides, including a 250 km ride into the mountains. But after first service, it was a daily grind of 50 kms, and parking in the open from 9 to 6 everyday. The first problem i faced was wobbling handlebar, which went away after coneset replacement. Next was replacement of rear disc pads at 6500 kms. I was unhappy that i had to replace that so soon but braking improved considerably post that. I changed my engine oil to Motul at about 7000 kms, and changed my rear tyre to michelin at about 8500 kms. Post change of tyre, bike has become a real sure-footed handler. Right now, bike's a little harsh above 6000 rpm and slightly juddering in the 2000 to 3000 rpm range but I think that should go with a thorough service. Overall, i would rate the bike 8.5/10.

No. Maybe show it when you take for first service. I think possibly the side panel might not have been put back properly when they did a PDI. There are some rubber bushing at the bottom of the panel. The left and right have a different type. Hope it helps.Originally posted by imshivs7 View PostDoes your rider's seat squeak? Mine's a bit noisy

Guys,
Anybody has a solution for the awful situation of mud splashing all over the engine when it rains ? I am looking for something different than the glued mudflap...
Thanks

very useful video, nice job.Originally posted by paul.1911 View Post
iirc, you were the guy who posted about fz25's alternator being 162w. do you mind sharing where did you found that info ? because i'm also looking to install aux spotlights but i can't find alternator current rating anywhere, it's nowhere on user manual/ workshop manual/ training manual. only thing i found is it's rated at 14.4+/- 4v @ 5000rpm but nothing about amps.
btw, i also did some testing attached multimeter on battery's negative side terminal (let me know if this is a bad way to calculate amps rating), and found out fuel-pump's current requirement. it's around 1.4-1.6 amps @ 13.6v. other components take following current @ 13.6v -
1. LED console - 0.40amps
2. Both 5w bulbs - 0.74amps (0.37amps each)
3. Tail light - 0.20amps
4. Brake light - 0.45amps
5. Turn signals - 1.46amps (2.86amps if both sides are on)
6. Fuel pump - 1.60amps (this also includes ECU's power consumption because pump won't run unless ECU is on)
---------------------------------------------
Total - 4.85amps @13.6v = ~ 66watts (46watts without turn signals)
Note: this doesn't include headlights, horn and ignition system's power consumption as bike wouldn't crank when multi-meter was attached. but we know headlights are rated at 26+9w. but no idea about horn as i forgot to take readings for it. and ignition system should be 5-10w but it's just pure guess.
so basically we have 162-(66+26+9)= 61w (with blinkers on) or 81w left for aux lights + ignition+ battery charging as we don't use turn signals and horn always. now only thing i need is proof for 162w rating for alternator. and then i'm pretty much done with aux lights of either 20wx2 or 40wx2.
Edit: i forgot to mention, it also doesn't include injector's power consumption as well. as i don't know if it turns on or not while priming.Last edited by slopegatri; 07-30-2018, 07:42 PM.Fz25 2018 (ABS retrofitted)

Nice and detailed instructions.Originally posted by paul.1911 View Post
I also set up aux lamps on my FZ25. But used pilot lamp wiring (Pilot lamp is completed disconnected) connected to the same switch that you used. The working way is same as yours.
Has been running for 4+ months without any issues. I hardly use them in the city though.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I went to book the motorcycle & I met the service centre guy and he told me that Yamaha has officially advised them to allow motul's fully synthetic engine oil of the same rating & he was happy to put that engine oilOriginally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostThis is a grey area.
If you have good rapport with the SVC then they'll be happy to help with new oil(Motul or Shell).

Green automobile in faridabad , near neelam chowkOriginally posted by swaranjit29 View PostHello Delhi/NCR Riders!
Can anyone from Delhi/NCR recommend good service center for FZ25? Tried Rithala & Vikaspuri SC but they charge heavy labor charges and their service is not good.
Or, if anyone knows any other premium bike service centers, please share their contact information.
Thank You!

1.) I have booked my fz25 a couple of days earlier and tell me if I have committed any mistake or not ? ( Use :- long distance touring & I intend to keep it with me for a lifetime )
2.) Can I replace the flat rear section tyre with a radial tyre ?
If yes then what can be the possible negative repurcussions of this decision . Will it cause the bike to skid under hard braking or can there be any other negative implications of it ?
Thanks in anticipation
