    Hello Delhi/NCR Riders!

Can anyone from Delhi/NCR recommend good service center for FZ25? Tried Rithala & Vikaspuri SC but they charge heavy labor charges and their service is not good.

Or, if anyone knows any other premium bike service centers, please share their contact information.

    Thank You!

          Hello people

          1. I have done close to 13k km on my FZ25 till date. I had third service done a few months ago. Going through the service manual, I was surprised to find that Yamaha recommends replacing the oil of the front fork every 10k km, and also cleaning and lubricating the bearings and the swingarm using grease. My local service centre has not charged me for it. The only charges mentioned are those of the engine oil (Rs 338 * 2), oil cleaner (Rs 159), engine guard (Rs 990), labour charge (Rs 100) and consumables (Rs 21) bringing the bill up to Rs 1968. If the front fork oil and the lubricant provided free-of-cost by the service centre, or is the cost included in the consumables section of the bill? Finally, can the third service be completed in only 3 hours (10 AM to 1 PM)?

          2. Along the same lines, what could be the effects of not having the fuel injector cleaned for more than 10k km? My local service centre does not have the equipment for cleaning the FI system, nor do they connect the bike to the computer for diagnostics. Will this affect the bike negatively in the long run? As for idle rev, they let it go down below 1000 RPM and then after complaining, moved it up to 2000 RPM. Is it healthy to have the engine idle at 2000 RPM? I am afraid to leave the bike in neutral in traffic because of this and end up switching the bike off.

          3. It's been quite heavily in Goa. This, along with the high salt content in the air has possibly lead to rusting everywhere. The chain, the number plates, screws and bolts, the rear alloy wheel, all have rusted quite severely. I clean the chain with kerosene every 500 km (~3 weeks) and lube it with YamaLube, and wipe down the bike every week. Is rusting common during the rains? If so, is there anything that can be done to reduce it? How about failure of switches? In the previous two months. I've had to get the ignition cleaned and lubed because it would seize up regularly, and the turn indicator switch because the left indicator would not light up.

          4. General thoughts. This is my first bike. This forum, along with several YouTube channels, has been very informative to me as a newbie rider. Thank you. About the bike, I absolutely love it! That hard gearing from the earlier days has given way to a gearbox that is, simply put, a joy to up-shift, especially at higher speeds. Unfortunately, the same does not stand true at low speeds and lower gears. False neutrals are fairly common, and so is some gears going missing in standstill traffic (you have to move the bike a little to get the box to shift). Still, better than what it used to be. Next, the engine. Smooth as butter. At least up to 5000 RPM. More than enough for my level of skills. The engine note does change as it heats up which, I am told, is a normal thing (is it, though?). And then there's that exhaust. It pops! Never had so much fun going downhill in gear. I'm 6'3" and find the seating uncomfortable for anything >50 km.

While it is great fun to ride, the downsides sometimes make me wonder if I was better off with something like KTM or its derivatives.

Thank you for such informative post. Will be helpful for every fz25 owner here. The idling at 2000 is quite high, get it down to 1500 rpm which you can do yourself by referring to owner manual. The rusting seems to be quite high. Yes you are right about engine note. If you drive during morning hours, the engine sounds smooth while as the day goes it becomes harsher. The engine is temperature sensitive, the high the temp, harsher the engine noise.

watch the video and look at the sprocket. it's not 100% straight. but when they opened it at put in on glass table, it was 100% straight. unfortunately i couldn't take pictures at that time.

weird thing is this issue is on all fz25s they have in svc. along with r15v3.
              Anyone else ?

I will check this tomorrow.. I bought the bike before 3-4 days and have completed about 200kms till now. I have made sure to keep the rpm under 4k. Currently I am facing the following issues:
                1. The instrument cluster has 2 indicators for mileage, one of which shows the average mileage(AVE) and the other one just displays "----km/l". Is this same for all?
                2. The bike doesnt get ON instantly... i have to hold the ignition button for a little more than a second to bring the engine to life.
                3. The mileage being shown is around 25km/l while i know for a fact that its giving more than that

And, is there anything that i need to know regarding the the bike(cons), its first service or the speed the limit during engine run in period?

                  1. The second one is the real time average indicator which works when you start moving.
                  2. The bike take's more than a second to start, which is normal. Just notice the rpm level at idling. If it's 1500 it is OK.
                  3. The initial mileage does not matter till 1at service. Although you can reset the average indicator by long pressing and see the new mileage.

Just run in the bike properly till 1000kms and don't stick to one rpm level. Vary the rpm by going from 2000 till 4000 and back again.

so it's by design ? it's really weird imo.

although i haven't faced any problems because of it.

                      1. Yes, the servicing does get done in 3 hours. But from here on, stay with the bike as it gets serviced.
                      2. Clean the injector ASAP, especially considering Goa's weather. Injector damage will cost you a lot. And a dirty injector eats into performance. Regarding the idle rpm, the ideal is 1500, 2000 is quite high.
                      3. Rusting in such weather is very normal. Your bike has run a lot too. To manage rusting, use nail-polish remover or spirit to wipe rust prone places clean. Regarding switchgears, wash your bike regularly.
                      4. Get your gearbox checked once. Could be a tight clutch bell.
Regarding your opinion about owning a KTM, all bikes have their issues. Yes a duke390 would have been great for your height. But it's uneconomical to own.

I totally relate to both. I am in Kochi and even I am facing rust issues with the never ending rain. My chain doesn't look as bad as shown but has started looking like that.

Its a pretty trouble free, simplistic, workhorse, do it all kinda bike perfect for a long term relationship. Though the only gripe I have now is the lack of fun or confidence during cornering. I just don't seem to get that connect or feedback I used to get in my RTR.

Not sure what to do and changing tyres will definitely help but I am not sure if its worth the investment without trying an Fz on a different pair of shoes. Or else should look back at RTR or even Duke 250, the sanest of the duke brothers.

I checked mine, its a very small movement and not half as much as shown in the video. It could be that the tyre is slightly tilted due to mismatch between chain adjusting done on either side.

Change the tyres brother. I have changed to Michelin at the rear and i can do triple digits in the mountains.

Everyone's on that WhatsApp group it seems.[emoji6] Puns apart, anyone got wrist pains, especially on the right, after long rides? Someone told me it's partly due to the kinda stiff accelerator, all with dual cable assembly and everything. My pal's Gixxer, which is even older has a lighter accelerator. Has anyone got the same opinion? One other opinion I wanted was on my idea of powder coating the rusty-looking silencer from one pro auto-paint shop nearby. My weekly stints from Coimbatore to Kerala where it is raining like nothing, seems to have taken a toll on it. I've heard from the showroom guys themselves that we just have to live with it- guess my pal's Gixxer is just buit better because he is from Wayanad where the monsoons are even more crazier and his silencer still looks all good.

have you tried cleaning it with water and brush ? on my bike it was also looking like rust, but actually its just baked mud. normal pressure wash doesn't help, you actually need a washing brush to clean it.

Yes you are right, the right wrist pains after 70 kms ride. This is due to the stiff accelerator set up.
The exhaust pipe is prone to mud splash and and the consequent coloring. Just wash with a cloth rather than a brush which may affect paint.
