Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
The fz25 is the best in crawling traffic, period. Not for anything else, but the immense low end torque. Initially, you'll be a little scared of the low end torque even but once you're habituated with the bike, the bike gives you confidence to cut through dense traffic with consummate ease.Originally posted by bullfrog View Post

Will be switching during the third service at around 9500 kms on the ODO.
Also if it is Fully synthetic shell, should the engine run for more kms before switching to fully synthetic?.
I don't feel the Yamalube oil is fully synthetic. Engine and gearbox seems to be getting rougher by the day with just 3500 kms from second service.
I use Shell Advance Ultra, and there isn't much difference apart from slightly better neutrals. Would recommend sticking to Yamalube and change it every 3000 kms instead of the recommended 5000 kms

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I am using Shell Advance full synthetic in my Pulsar 220 currently.
Before this I had Motul 5100.
Trust me when I say this - with Shell, my 220 has become so smooth I started doubting if it indeed is a Pulsar. [emoji23]
I'm accustomed to rough gear shifts of Pulsars and I'm happy with that feel. Smooth shifts is new to me [emoji12]Regards,

Omg this is very high [emoji15]. Infact I have planned to book fz25 ballistic blue. But now after seeing your bill, I am just thinking may be I should be happy with my unicorn.Originally posted by riteshgupta View PostHi guys, I am new to the thread here. I've completed around 16k kms on my FZ25 which i got on June 2017 and has been a smooth sail till now. I just got my bike from my fourth service (First paid service) and was surprised to see that the bill was 2721 which I feel is on the higher side. Is the service cost this high? Would like to know your opinion on the same.

Dont be worried he has done teflon coating injector cleaning which come close to 400 and others i think are consumables which are decently priced when compared to other bikes ..Originally posted by vengymgen View PostOmg this is very high [emoji15]. Excluding teflon coating and injector cleaning its 2300 bucks which is still high. Its fine if its somewhere around 1500.Originally posted by Dinesh.P View PostDont be worried he has done teflon coating injector cleaning which come close to 400 and others i think are consumables which are decently priced when compared to other bikes ..

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
It's still quite a bloated bill. They seem to have randomly pasted charges without checking with the owner. Usually is less than 1500 with servicing charge, oil and filter. Putting so called Teflon on plastic panels is sheer stupidity.Originally posted by vengymgen View PostExcluding teflon coating and injector cleaning its 2300 bucks which is still high. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I just bought a pre owned FZ25 yesterday. The previous owner had bought it in August 2017 but had decided to migrate to Australia. It had just done 6000km and is in top condition. I'm quite happy with the deal he gave me.
Of course, it will be old news to most people in the thread, but the reason I bought this bike is
- smooth engine, I've never had a bike that is this smooth, I feel it is smoother than my CBR
- amazing torque at low revs. In my brief ownership, I've been surprised by my speed and had to brake twice
- comfort is very good, upright seating position and good suspension ensure that
I took the long way to office today(50km instead of 20[emoji1] ). Since it was well outside the running in period, went to speeds of around 100. It was quite windy and I was wearing my office backpack, so it did sometimes feel like I was dragging a parachute behind me. The one thing I missed was a 6th gear, it would've been ideal for Highway cruising.
I have a 250km trip to Vellore planned next week, looking forward to that.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Regarding service costs, expect 1500 once in 5000km. Brake pads last about 10 to 15000km depending on use. Tires will last easily 18 to 20000km plus which is good considering softer compound. Comes with a comprehensive 5 year warranty so big items like the FI system are covered in that.
I discovered at the last service they had not changed the oil filter possibly no stock but poured all 1600ml of oil in! Removed 250ml and now can feel a difference from the injector cleaning. 1350ml oil is the stated amount needed without filter change. I used a piece of old battery breather tube and siphoned it into a measuring cup to remove excess oil. It's an easy figure to check with the dipstick and would recommend checking after a service.

Is it Paid Service or Free?Originally posted by riteshgupta View PostHi guys, I am new to the thread here. Teflon quoting is Dealer scam generally, Do not entertain it. It does not work for Plastic bikes, the shine lasts only one wash.
Chain cleaning is much cheaper and we can do much better work at home than the guys at SVC. I do Chain clean and lubing myself.
Injector cleaning, I am not sure if that is required unless you feel something wrong with the bike. But no harm in getting it done.
Free service along with Oil, air filter, oil filter and consumables costs around Rs 1100/-.
With paid services: Rs 1100 + Approx 500 is Rs 1600. I think this must be ideal paid service cost.2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I changed the spark plug on mine at 15000km as recommended by Yamaha. NGK DR8EA, Yamaha Part no 94703-0033300. Cost Rs 204 MRP. Made in Japan.
I also had an error code crop up after service. Used to flash 64 and then Er-1. Was an intermittent fault. Bike used to run perfect though. Sorted it out. Some loose connection near the battery. Now the bike is running fine.
