Not totally dead, of course, it must be able to charge while moving.

And not just ECU, even the fuel pump needs some amount of power to push petrol into the injector. So it's safe to assume that the battery wasn't completely drained out as otherwise stated by the OP.

I just noticed while cleaning my chain that it has some rust developed on it. I'd this common or should I take it up with service centre? What can I do to prevent it? If this is a problem, will this be covered under warranty?

Common thing if you stay in a rainy place, and you don't clean the chain regularly...

Has anyone faced an issue with gear shifter loud squeak noise(metal to metal contact I think) only after upshifts. It started only recently and most probably because of the rains I think.

It doesn't come often and is the loudest after the bike has stayed idle for long, mornings and when leaving office.

The SVC technician said he didn't find anything abnormal. I couldn't reproduce it to its full effect there either.

Has anyone else faced it?. I am thinking of applying WD-40 to the ends of the shifter rod to see if loss of lubricant is the issue. Is it safe to do so?

Lubricate it. Simple issue of some dampness somewhere.

I hope this continues to be so.

Change your tyres already. I did it at about the same odo reading. Bike feels so much more secure, be it mud, wet grip, or cornering. Go for Pirelli Sport Demons. Available for both front and rear for about Rs. 9000/-.

Does handling improve by a large margin?. That's the only thing bothering me now, with no feedback and an insecure feel that takes the fun out of cornering. And how long will they last?

Yes. Handling changes totally. Lasting depends on your usage, but since Pirellis are sift compound, you will get between 8-10k kms.

Small update. Did my 15000km service. Nothing much usual oil change etc. Got the injector cleaned first time. Requires removing all the top bodywork. Have to run it for a few hundred kms to check any difference in top end or mileage. Cost about 1550 total. They suggested a clutch overhaul or inspection which I didn't do.

Watch out for being billed on random work. I stayed and got the work done. Have to change the spark plug per manual which they did not do.

Overall excellent bike, service experience could be better. The issue with the rear tire getting more punctures has gotten much better with increasing pressure by 3 to 4 PSI. More than that makes it a hard ride.

Need some help from owners of fz25. can you put the bike in middle stand in first gear (engine on) and see if rear sprocket is bent on not ? yesterday i got the fz25 and on my way to home, my friend spotted that the rear sprocket isn't perfectly straight and it is little bit bent. today i went to ASC again and to my surprise all other fz25 (2) and r15v3 (3) also have this issue. they have agreed to replace it but i just want to know if other bikes also have this problem.

They tried pushing a brake overhaul in the bill and when I asked what that was said top up. Master cylinder screws clearly not opened. They cancelled it. Clutch also was recommended to open. This bike has finer tolerances than say a 150cc class commuter. Wasn't confident it would be put back together how it was so stopped it. I intend to keep this for many years as a workhorse so can't afford someone learning on it.
