Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
[QUOTE=slopegatri;1364663]Finally new colors and Dual channel abs is launched. 12k more. also it seems Yamaha listened and removed black coating from Exhaust pipe. so it won't look rusty anymore due to baked mud.
So how do we the (previous version owners) stand a change of adding ABS to our existing bikes?
Will the ABS setup, Brake Disk, ECU update can be of help. Or its way more electronics to make it function?
PS: I wont mind a burn of 20K just for ABS addition. Plz suggest.
TIA

[QUOTE=Ashish Sahay;1364681]I asked Varun Painter from Powerdrift on Insta post, he said Yamaha has no plans for making option available to retrofit ABS in older FZ25 and Fazer25. Lets see.Originally posted by slopegatri View PostFinally new colors and Dual channel abs is launched. 12k more. also it seems Yamaha listened and removed black coating from Exhaust pipe. so it won't look rusty anymore due to baked mud.

Hello Guys, I have question. I have a Fazer25 and does anyone know how to drain fuel (petrol) from the tank if I am planning not to use in long time say 8 9 months and more even. Will the petrol corrode the tank if kept for long duration ?
Actually I met with an accident and both of my hands were badly fractured and plates had to be put. So in lieu of that I am not allowed to use bike for 8 9 months may be an year also depending on the condition. I stay away from family in Hyderabad, so cant say my dad or brother to ride it.
Any suggestions on the petrol thing ?

1. both wheels for mounting abs speed sensor disks. ( total 7k)
2. right side outer front fork tube for mounting speed sensor. (around 1.8k)
3. speedo console otherwise we wont be able to see abs warning light. around 3k
4. new wiring harness 3k
5. rear caliper housing for mounting speed sensor, ( but i think lathe workshop can modify it easily, just need 2 holes) no idea how much
and we need these new parts -
1. abs modulator (this comes with it's own ecu embedded)( should be 12-14k, rtr200's costs 12.6k)
2. new brake hose line should be 1-1.5k
3. 2 set of speed sensors 1.5k
4. some small parts such as mounting brackets and oil. should be less than 1-2k
so unless ECU (3k)/alternator (1.8k) need to be changed, everything should be under 30k or 23k if lathe guys can modify current wheels for mounting speed sensor disks. i think front one can be done easily. you can also sell old ones to get some money back.
i'm 100% sure it will work as parts are designed to be replaceable, and its same bike as well. i'm just waiting for workshop service manual and parts catalog to arrive here in local svc. will update here once it happens.
Yamaha or any other company won't provide any kit, i believe.Fz25 2018 (ABS retrofitted)

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Haha, yep unfortunately most people still think it's impossible or won't work. that might be true if you retrofit abs from another bike as modulator is tuned differently. but for same bike as in the case of r15v3/fz25, it's 100% possible to fit and it will work exactly like it's supposed to. i mean think logically, if all required parts are same thn why it won't work ? just because it's not done in factory ? that doesn't make any sense. the thing is every part is designed to be replaced. all you need to do is just follow workshop manual, and tighten everything using correct torque values.Originally posted by Ashish Sahay View PostThat was the only positive reply on the topic I got today. only issue i think we will face is, mounting the abs modulator. as the frame does not have any mounting bracket for it. i don't know if Indian spec frame is same as Brazil one. but that's not a big issue, as it can be fixed to evap canister mounting using some plates. will see once bike comes in local svc. but it's not that difficult.
this is the location where it's mounted on Brazilian fz25.

Does anyone know if the Dominar's rear disc pad will be a direct fit for the FZ25? Need to replace mine, the OEM ones are too costly. If not Dominar's, suggest any other good/affordable ones that will fit?

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Dominar or any Bajaj/Honda/KTM bike rear brake pads does not fit the FZ25. It has different mount type which I haven't seen on any other bikes apart from only seen on latest Yamaha bikes the R15v3/FZ25.Originally posted by ramdante View PostDoes anyone know if the Dominar's rear disc pad will be a direct fit for the FZ25? Find something that fits R15v3 since it's an international model, the same should work on FZ25.Bajaj SuperFE 150 - Forever in my heart

Hi the TVS rtr mirrors look similar and cost much less. If it's available in your country.Originally posted by wilmarvilla View PostThe size of the screw mirror in fz25 is 10mm right?
I see this and seems better

I noticed Suzuki gixxer has a similar brake caliper. Could look at that if it works. But OEM is usually better to use in my opinion.Originally posted by ramdante View PostDoes anyone know if the Dominar's rear disc pad will be a direct fit for the FZ25?If not Dominar's, suggest any other good/affordable ones that will fit?

Thanks for confirming. I'll try removing the rear disk pad and will check that with some local spare shops for possible matching 3rd party ones..Originally posted by kiran2508 View PostDominar or any Bajaj/Honda/KTM bike rear brake pads does not fit the FZ25.
