Bleed the break line to remove any air from the lines and use break cleaning spray to any oil or grease from the disc and pad. Like the one in the link ( https://www.amazon.in/dp/B009GKI88G/..._mUJjCbA6MSFHZ )Originally posted by rajan_coolrock00 View PostLooks like svc guy spilled grease or something slippery on my front brake disc/pad. Now, the front braking power is reduced by like 40percent. Depressing the front brake lever hard doesn't help. It's starting to affect my hand.

I don't think heating is a good idea, that too in direct fire. If I were in your place I'd have wiped the disc with a cloth and then take the bike to a road with less/no traffic and accelerate, then brake hard continuously till the braking power returns. If not, was the disc and brake pads using dish wash liquid and wait for it to dry.Originally posted by rajan_coolrock00 View PostI did this and it improved like 50%

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I believe you can expect upto 38 to 40kmpl in city conditions depending upon your usage and riding habits. No manufacturing issues from what I've heard. The stock tyres lack bite on the wet roads though. It's a great bike to switch to, from a 150cc. People claim upto 45kmpl when riding in ideal conditions or on highways. Speaking from experience, it's not really a bike to used in bumper to bumper traffic.Originally posted by Imran Syed View PostGuys I'm looking to buy fz25 please share your opinions? Fz25 is a reliable bike. You can get it for city use and highway too. Best fuel efficiency for a 250cc. Torque is great which makes overtaking in city traffic easy and less gear changes. My fz25 has tappet noise after 5k rpm which seems normal with all bikes but doesn't affect performance . Other than that no major concern.Originally posted by Imran Syed View PostGuys I'm looking to buy fz25 please share your opinions? I heard tappet noise was there in 2017 bikes later it was fixed ..how about the rust thing on the exhaust pipe and ground clearance?Originally posted by Shamanth Gowda View PostFz25 is a reliable bike. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Yes maybe tappet noise is initial batch issue. During my 5th service svc applied a paint for free on the exhaust so now no red mud (rust ). Actually it's not rust it's mud that's dried up coz of heat. It's no more an issue now. Also ground clearance when riding with pillion is less so careful with bigass speed breakers. For solo ride it's not an issue. Also you can get the suspension to level 4 or 5, that'll helpOriginally posted by Imran Syed View PostI heard tappet noise was there in 2017 bikes later it was fixed ..how about the rust thing on the exhaust pipe and ground clearance?

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I think you just need to get the steering head bearing tightened. In my case handlebar ticked and moved forward very slightly under hard braking. Getting it tightened a bit solved the trouble.Originally posted by rajan_coolrock00 View PostGot into accident, just changed the above mentioned parts only

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
City mileage would be in the range of 30-35 kmpl. But this is the best bike to ride in city traffic as of now considering its low-end torque and light handling. Only common manufacturing issues till now is fast wearing rear pad. But I guess that too has been sorted now.Originally posted by Imran Syed View PostGuys I'm looking to buy fz25 please share your opinions? Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Can't comment on tappet noise.Originally posted by Imran Syed View PostIs it really resolved mfg issues like tappet noise exhaust rust and rear pads wears ??I'm planning to book next week
Exhaust rust is just mud accumulated and turned red coz of heat from pipe. Yamaha is providing an extra layer of spray paint and after this there is no rusting issue. I have not replaced break pads after riding for 17500km. It depends on your usage of breaks. I use front often than rear and rear should be used only to support front but not for stopping.
