Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
But how do I tell for sure? Wouldn't they have checked it by now at the service centre if it was suspected?Originally posted by hemanta View PostAgain it could be tight chain
I really don't feel like bothering with them to be honest so if there's a fix I can try, can I adjust it or get it adjusted locally from a local mechanic?

Get the chain slack adjusted by a mechanic according to the owner's manual. Then clean and lubricate the chain. Also, drop a few drops of gear oil into the clutch cable.Originally posted by Absoluthavoc View PostBut how do I tell for sure? Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I have some very good (or very bad rather) experience with the chain of my bike (not FZ25 though). Spent half a day in the SVC and could not get my chain noise fixed and set to correct slack. Every setting they made gave came with an issue (stiff ride, heavy chain noise starting from 30 kmph to mention a few.... and also hard gearshifts, especially while downshifting). Tried a few mechanics – nothing improved. Finally my dad and me took the issue in our hands and voila..... fixed it!!Originally posted by Absoluthavoc View PostBut how do I tell for sure? The SVCs tend to keep the chain tight because the chain will get loose anyway and if they keep it at the correct slack, people will come to correct the slack every now and then and those guys are too lazy to adjust it every time. But this tight chain will cause the chain and sprockets to wear out too quickly. Hard downshifts may be due to improper chain slack, especially if the issue popped up recently or after a service.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
The Masseters (front and rear) are now 400+ kms old. Good grip. Less skidding of rear tyres as compared to stock Zappers. And the best part is that the bike leans into corners now.
Anyone in Delhi NCR here interested in Sunday morning rides do message me.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Company recommended interval is 15000km once to change. I run in dusty conditions and so 10000km once change it. Can't clean this type. Once in 5000km can take out and gently tap it. Otherwise change.Originally posted by rajan_coolrock00 View PostIs there any way to clean Air filter?
SVC guy changed mine at the first servicing

If you're finding the current position uncomfortable, I suggest that you spend some more time and clock some more kms. Initially even I found the position of rear foot-peg awkward, blame it on the comfort that I had on my old Unicorn, but I got accustomed after clocking more kms. Now I don't have any complaints.
Cheers!
