Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
It doesn't touch any other part. Scrap mudguard is borrowed from junk at a garage I know :-)Originally posted by ankit.traveller View PostDoesn't it touch with crash guard while turning handle? From where you got shine mud guard? Bought it?Last edited by bullfrog; 10-30-2018, 05:58 PM.

Thanks mate, did you drill the holes on mudguard yourself?Originally posted by bullfrog View PostDidn't expect that Yamaha would not have a easy fix for such an obvious problem. Regarding this issue, upon speaking to service centre, they were dismissive telling no one has complained. This shows that owners are ignorant of implication of oil cooler clogged with Mud and mostly Yamaha is lazy to fix it. Saves them from replacing rusted exhaust tubes. So decided to look at options and zeroed in on a fix borrowing a Honda part :-)
Trimmed front Mud guard of Honda Shine and installed. This works perfectly well. Exhaust down tube, Engine head, Oil cooler and O2 Sensor are all protected from the muck with this simple mod.

What is your next plan of action - have they agreed it's a defect and will replace under warranty?Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostAn update on my bike-I visited 3 SVCs, they were all of the opinion that the forks and handlebar are bent.

Unfortunately, they claimed that this will not come under warranty. 1300 to fix the bent fork. They continue to claim that I dropped the bike.Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostWhat is your next plan of action - have they agreed it's a defect and will replace under warranty?
Looks like this is going to be a long fight.

It's difficult to bend the fork tube by dropping the bike, usually the handlebar will be a write-off. Also, if the tube is bent, it is better to replace it than remove the bend. Write to Yamaha.Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostUnfortunately, they claimed that this will not come under warranty. 1300 to fix the bent fork. I'll try one last time with my Yamaha contact. If not, I'll write to Yamaha. Hopefully they won't ignore this.Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostIt's difficult to bend the fork tube by dropping the bike, usually the handlebar will be a write-off. Do not fix, strictly replace.Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostUnfortunately, they claimed that this will not come under warranty. 1300 to fix the bent fork. They continue to claim that I dropped the bike.

Safety and reliability trumps over money.
If the front end of the FZ25 is expensive you could try alternatives from other motorcycles, anyhow just make sure to replace damaged components, never attempt repairing rigid components.
If there's a bent in the forks then you should get a kickback when counter-steering.Originally posted by Shashank K R View Post@ashwinprakas @B7ACKTHORN @ashwanth.r

I'm pushing them for replacement. Fixing it isn't acceptable especially after my previous experiences with bent forks and the fact that it is a very new bike.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostDo not fix, strictly replace.

One good thing is that they FZ25 has relatively cheap spares since a lot of the parts are shared with the FZ16 and R15v3. Fork tubes cost around 1400 each, if nothing works out I'll have to spend from my pocket.
Will there be anything else to replace other than the fork tube? I can't see any other damage, no leaks, although I'll also check the triple tree.
Now that you mention it, I do feel a strange reluctance (a slight sensation pushing back) when I try to corner the bike (compared to my friend's bike).Last edited by Shashank K R; 11-01-2018, 11:57 AM.
