Bro is there any problem of tyres touching the tyre fenders? Have you upgraded the rear tyre too? If yes, do we have to remove the tyre hugger? Thanks in advance..

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
It will perfectly fit in without any modification. Yes changed my rear tyre to MSR 140/70 But its same as stock dimension. I don't think you have to remove tyre hugger for 150/60 tyres.Originally posted by Anubhab View PostBro is there any problem of tyres touching the tyre fenders? Have you upgraded the rear tyre too? Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello guys.
I'm a new member here.
I need a little bit of advise from you guys.
I'm interested in buying the FZ25 and I need your suggestion if I should go ahead with the purchase or would like to know if there are any apparent issues with the bike in general due to which I should avoid the purchase (or issues I should know and expect when I buy the machine)
It'd be a huge help from you guys if you can help me out with the suggestions.
I'm currently torn between the FZ25 and Suzuki Gixxer SF FI ABS.

The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place. It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.

I was, but my budget does not allow me to spend more than 1.5 Lakhs right now.Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostNot considering Jawa now?
Nice bike tbh, liked the Jawa 42 more than the classic frankly. But 1.55Lakhs Ex showroom is a little out of budget for me.
Hence the two options in my first comment.

I have hit about 600kms on my odo and here are some things (pros and cons mixed)Originally posted by Boymarvel View PostHello guys.

I'm currently torn between the FZ25 and Suzuki Gixxer SF FI ABS.
1. It's a high displacement bike and gives a good mileage. I ride in city areas, traffic congestion is heavy here but I am getting 35kmpl of mileage.
2. Downshifting is fine but upshifting feels little harsh on this bike.
2. Headlamp is LED but with the stock settings, headlamp has let me down. The throw is very near of high beam. Even if you increase the throw, the headlamp is not satisfactory.
3. The engine feels very smooth, it reaches to cruising speed without any difficulty.
4. I saw many people complaining about brakes but I have found it good. ABS on this bike would have been better (which will increase its cost) but without ABS also, it's okay.
5. The bike is very light and handling is good.
Till now I am happy that I bought this bike [emoji2]

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Well, of course most owners will wholeheartedly recommend the bike. Most of us love this bike and we know it has some flaws. But we forget about the flaws when we start riding.Originally posted by Boymarvel View PostGreat, so I'm assuming you recommend buying this bike
That was all cliche, but seriously, a test ride will help you decide better. The FZ25 is a relaxed (I would say it's a bit lazy) bike with an addictive torque curve. You won't find the same torque in the Gixxer. But, the Gixxer is a much better handler (IMO). I can compare them, since I've owned a gixxer in the past.
But here's what you should expect (or consider)-
1. FZ25 - The headlight is not that great
Gixxer - same, but you can upgrade the bulb.
2. FZ25 - Brakes are a bit spongy, but they're good enough.
Gixxer - same
3. Engine noise -
FZ25 - This is the most important bit (and yes, this is normal behavior). There will be "tappet" noise when hot and there may be a rattling sound from the engine head (or "coin rattle") at certain RPMs. Basically, apart from the amazing exhaust note, the engine sounds pretty agricultural (or even crude to some). It's not everyone's cup of tea.
Gixxer - bassy exhaust note, can't really hear the engine. But yes, there is some tappet noise when hot.
4. FZ25 - Handling is a bit lazy
Gixxer - very nimble and sporty handling
5. FZ25 - In very heavy traffic, FE is around 30-34kmpl. It's possible to get 40+, but it'll be really boring to ride the bike like that. On an average, you can expect 34-36kmpl.
Gixxer - you can expect around 50kmpl on careful riding. I rarely got above 43kmpl.
6. FZ25 - Torque, torque and more torque. Very torquey bike, even when shifting at 4-4.5k RPM. The engine is very smooth (relatively. It will never be as smooth as a 150cc bike, the 150s feel like electric bikes
) between 2.5-5.5k and between 6k-7.5k RPM.
Gixxer - enough power for the city, but lacks that hard torque. Nevertheless, it's fun to use that power. Very rev friendly.
7. FZ25 - Between 5.5-6k RPM, there are a lot of vibrations from the handlebar, pegs and tank. The mirrors become blurry. But, this vibration reduces by at least 80% by the time you clock 8-10k kms.
Gixxer - very very smooth engine. No such vibrations.
8. Gearshifts -
FZ25 - Downshifting is hard without rev matching. Upshifting is quite smooth.
Gixxer - quite hard for most owners, though on mine gearshifts were really smooth.Last edited by Shashank K R; 11-16-2018, 01:37 AM.

Thanks a lot Shashank, that was extremely helpful. Especially that Engine noise bit. I'll keep that in mind.Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostWell, of course most owners will wholeheartedly recommend the bike. Most of us love this bike and we know it has some flaws. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello Friends,
Bought FZ25 on 05th Nov, on the occasion of Dhanteras.
Let me give a short intro about me.
I am Nishesh from Delhi, an xBhp member since 2013. I bought HH CBZ Xtreme in 2012 and have clocked nearly 1 Lakh KMs till date.
I was looking for a worthy upgrade, and after lots of search zeroed upon this bike
Hoping to contribute to this thread as well as seek help/suggestions in future.
