    Hello guys,
Bought an fz25 abs Matt blue couple days ago, done around 300 KM's on the bike. I recently did a mileage check(full tank- full tank method) on the bike, it came around 28.5kmpl. I'am aware that the engine parts being new, the friction between them is more and mileage is usually less initially. . I have not crossed the 4-4.5k rpm and subsequently not crossed 65kmph speed. My commute too doesn't have that much traffic. But is it at as low as 28-29kmpl in the initial 500 KM's or so?

Purpose of the group is to have a owners only group and to help each other sorting out issues that we deal with FZ 25. We are not keeping it wide open to restrict non FZ 25 related discussions.

I did the 3rd free service. They forgot to connect the tube from fuel pump to engine. I ride the bike completely unaware of this. Rear tyre got sprayed up with petrol. Skidding on the light raining city road. Very scary experience. Bike was getting stalled and somehow i reached home, when most of the fuel got exhausted. A pool of petrol! What a lackadaisical work done by Yamaha Service. Yamaha mobile team came to home and fixed the fuel pipe. But, what a careless attitude.

Guys, when do we check FI? I see that they test and generate a health card of FI. But, it involves red lining engine. Mine is only 9000kms ran. Please advise.

Does FZ25 uses OBD 2 interface?
Can anyone recommend me cheap and good OBD scanner for this bike?? Do I need to buy extra adapter?

They would have cleaned the fuel injector and made the mistake while putting it back. That connector is tricky the first time. It seems like it's connected. Even when idling. Only if you rise the engine it pops off. This is if installed wrong. Fuel on a hot engine is unsafe.

Regarding FI check it gives bunch of data to check if everything is operating in spec. I think it's advised every service. The cool thing about this bike is it's possible to check things with a multimeter also if you have the service manual. Guess it's good to do. But I haven't felt the need to. After initial negative service experiences I work on the bike myself.

Fuel efficiency got reduced to 31kmpl as per mid screen. During the free service, i complained about a tick tick sound, probably from the tappets. They said it was not from tappets, but from some cover on the engine head which got loosened (tappet cover?) . So, they grinded and fixed the cover with glue. They promised didn't touched valves or rocker arms. That is also why they removed tank and goofed up the fuel pipe. I experienced missing and stalling last time when fuel was leaking. No facility at sub dealer for Fi engine check up. Will show to main dealer service to check fi.

Does anyone have any idea on how to connect OBD2 16 pins to the bike?

My bike was in the rain for a day. It's been 4 days after that but my indicator switch has a small lag when switching it for the left indicator.

The right indicator is working perfectly, the left is like there is some loose contact, and at times I have to touch it again lightly to initiate contact after pushing it to the left.

Is it due to issues caused by water going in or something and can be fixed or should I replace the entire switch assembly. Will I get warranty for the same?

Also some times bike gives jerk, as if the fuel presssure is low, or engine is not getting enough fuel. Only once it happened that i was at a speed of 80 kmph and while running engine stalled. I tried giving it self while running but bike won't start, after cranking 4 to 5 times bike started. I took the bike at service center the mechanic there told me that it's the problem of fuel pump. He checked the pressure but at that time pressure was fine. He just cleaned the fuel pump and injector and put it back again and told me that again if i face similar issue then i have to replace the fuel pump. And unfortunately i am still facing the issue. Though bike is not giving any jerks but bike is stalling in slow moving traffics and on idle.

My bike is just one year old, do fuel pump comes under warranty??

If I buy new fuel pump will i get warranty for the fuel pump??

I am really fedup of my bike its been one year and i have almost spend 15k on it.

I hope your idle is set at 1500rpm.

what's the battery voltage ? if its lower than 12.8v, charge it. and check starter relay if it is working or not. and tell svc to do full system diagnostic, if there's any electrical issue it will show up.

Have you done any electrical modifications? if so, remove all those and claim warranty for fuel pump etc. i hope you haven't cut any wiring. otherwise kiss- goodbye to warranty.
