I would say every 6000 to 10000 kms depending on Fuel Quality and bike usage.

Fuel quality is good. Monthly riding is less than 1000kms.

Today, after filling petrol, the bike faced a peculiar problem. Bike starts but does not idle, it stops. I tried 4-5 times and the same result. I tried with acceleration and it started fine. After that I did not faced the issue. Is there something to check.

I've ridden my matte blue fz25 for approx 4300kms. I ride it mostly in the city premises. The bike vibrates a lot post 4k rpm. Speeds of above 80kmph feels so rough on this machine. I rarely do long rides. Recently I did a 250km ride and the experience was dissappointing. The engine was so noisy. It didn't even motivate me to push the bike to higher speeds. The noise from the engine really frustrates me. I clean and lube my chain regularly. What might be the problems? Also my second service at 5k kms is coming up. Thinking to service the bike before 5k. Even the gear shifts are on the harder side. What are the things to look into while going for 2nd service?
I bought the fz25 over the Mt15 for its sheer practicality. But now I'm having second thoughts whether I made the right decision. For now the level of satisfaction is quite low

If parked under sun it locks up. Have to open tank, swish it about and then start. Peculiar behaviour but that's how it is. Tank is sealed for emission purpose. Can turn upside down also no petrol will come out.

What type of noises you are hearing from the engine???
                      Which oil are you using?
Fz’s engine is a bit noisy no need to worry about it.

There is a rattling noise that comes out from the engine above 4k rpm. Post 4k the sound from the engine makes me hesitant to go to the higher rpms . I switched to motul 7100 10w40 at 2500 kms hoping that it would improve the performance. It's still performing better than yamalube though

Has anyone put the skid plate (below silencer) that will protect silencer from scraping bumps. I saw these photos in a fz25 Facebook group. It costs ₹435 as per the author. The bash plate from lluvia Coimbatore costs almost 3500 when compared to Yamaha skid plate. Any feedbacks. Click image for larger version

To the guys who own abs version. can you please tell me if speedometer shows any speed below 5 kmph or not ?

second, if the bike is in middle stand, and you turn front wheel by hand(might need to do this quickly to achieve more than 5 kmph) does it show any speed ?

and last, if the bike is in middle stand, and you start engine (in any gear ) does it show any speed ?

please i need to know this. thanks.

                                Hello friends,

Finally pulled the trigger and joined your ranks as the owner of an ABS FZ25. This was a carefully evaluated decision with choices between Jawa 42, Xpulse and FZ25. Had booking down on all three and spent ample time with them before making the call. All three were shortlisted for the following criteria:

                                - Must have FI and ABS
                                - Must be comfortable for my 5'10", Heavy-ish Indian middle aged man build.
                                - Must be in the 2L range and relatively easy to maintain
                                - Must have decent tank range (300km+)
                                - Must serve in city and highway

A short summary of pros and cons of each that led to my decision was as follows:

                                Jawa 42

                                + Classic looks
                                + Good engine
                                + Dual ABS

                                - Bike is smallish in person, seat not the most confortable
                                - Fit and Finish is not upto the mark, paint defects and ugly welds galore
                                - Anemic instrument cluster, didn't like the positioning and was hard to read for me
                                - Decreasing faith in Classic Legends as a company due to regular feed of bad news

                                Xpulse

+ Stands out in a crowd
                                + Smooth engine
                                + Cheap to maintain,Hero support
                                + Great handling

                                - Better for offroading, not the best commuter/adv
                                - Power is uninspiring, felt inadequate for highway
                                - Only single channel ABS

                                FZ25

+ Longest proven track record of the three
+ Good power and engine smoothness
                                + Proven tank range
+ Cheap to maintain and Yamaha reliability

                                - Dated looks

Ultimately I decided to ditch the looks factor that was pretty much the only comparative negative of the FZ25. And to tell the truth no amount of bike looks is going to make me attractive anyway . Then it was a straight shoot for power and reliability. Though the Jawa makes better power, the FZ25's proven reliability and the fact that it was more comfortable for me made it the winner. And that my brothers is how I joined your hallowed ranks.

Looking for useful accessory suggestions for touring. I feel I should get bar risers and saddle stays. I dont ride above 90-100 so wind blast not much issue. Anything else I can look at?
