Another Doubt I have is, is the engine rpm fluctuation during idle normal?. It just doesn't have a constant hum but keeps varying and doesn't sound smooth, like its got a missing in between. The rpm also fluctuates between 1000 to 1200. Should I get that checked?
I have the fluctuating idle rpm thing too, and it is perfectly normal unless it is affecting your acceleration.

Anyone aware of possible upgrades in 2018 model fz25 ??
There isn't any changes after recall they just changes the bolts as per Yamaha but in my case they just use locktigh liquid and tighten the same bolts again...no changes in bike...

People from Pune, can anyone tell of a good Yamaha showroom?
By good, I mean good customer service and lesser complaints.
Also, the best service center in Pune?

Once and for all i want to clear the myth everyone has that Yamaha has to replace bolts, gaskets and other stuff.

No, a complete no.. yamaha will only replace gasket if they are worn out during this Operation of tightening the bolts with loctite.

If your gaskets gets worn out they will click a picture of it and send it to Yamaha and get aclaim for that, if not then they will simply tighten the bolts by applying loctite on them.

This is being done because a user faced this issue the bolt fell into his engine, so in future no one else faces this issue this is being done, if you don't get your bolts tightened Yamaha will mail you a letter at your home.

Good luck to all, and please don't create any further myths, if u still want u can..

I spoke to India Yamaha customer care today, the guy confirmed the same. As per him about 10% of vehicles are affected out of the total being recalled which might require the gasket and O-ring to be replaced.

I received the letter from my dealer via Registered Post with Ack Due. This was after a call from them asking me to bring the bike tomorrow and also verifying my address. I guess Yamaha want to avoid any kind of litigation in future from ignorant owners.

                  Monarch Yamaha, Dhanakwadi branch.
Small service center but friendly people. Ask for head mechanic Sudheer ji, nice guy.

(You can mention that Prince(R15) referred them if that helps anyways)

                  Regards.

Done with recall. Quick and easy service at Ravinder Yamaha, Guwahati. Bolt retightened with Loctite glue and a black gasket was replaced. The engine feels less rattling now. No other difference observed. A dedicated service person has been alloted for the recall. Thanks Yamaha for taking care.

My experience at Paras Yamaha was not so pleasant, the technician proceeded to apply Loctite without checking the gasket and O-ring. He claimed that the only instruction he had was to apply Loctite and tighten the bolts again. I told them that I had spoken to customer care and they need to check O-ring and gasket as well, first they refused and then I told them I will call customer care in their presence. Then they opened and showed me the gasket and ring, thankfully they were intact.Such a simple job to assure a customer ,yet they failed.

Just check for oil Leakage. 2 people in the whatsapp group here reported the same. Checked mine and mine too has it. Have to again visit the service center . I just don't know how to manage bikes with the pathetic condition of the service centers here. I have run close to 200 kms after the bolt tightening and noticed it only now. I would like to know how far I can run with this kind of leakage?. Its a sunday tomorrow and no service center will be open here. And I have to travel 150 Kms tomorrow, back to where I work. It looks like a small leak and no drop in oil level, since the oil level was very slightly above the max mark after first service and its still nearly the same. I have run close to 2000 kms after first service oil change.

Don't worry about this. You can ride carefree. But just get it rectified. Few small drops of oil spilled during the opening of that part may get smeared across the head while you operate the bike.

Edit: Removed pics that got quoted.
