Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Tappet sound ant coin rattling is hardly noticed if you're using a good quality helmet. It is a characteristic of the engine; so I ignore it and enjoy the torquey nature of the engine. You'll love the performance(as it is not affected at all due to tappet noise) and will learn to live with it if it occurs on your bike(I've completed close to 2500kms on odo and haven't noticed it yet.Originally posted by Ahmad2805 View PostHello to all Fz25 owners. This is my first post. I'm interested in buying Fz25, but reading throughout the pages one thing is pulling me off. i.e tappet sound and coin rattle sound. Earlier I had Karizma R (recently sold). I test drove one, liked it. Is the issue resolved in 2018 batches. Kindly suggest will it be a wise choice to buy this beast.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
It is not an issue to be honest. This is quite expected at 2 valve engine after running hot or spirited riding.Originally posted by Ahmad2805 View PostHello to all Fz25 owners. This is my first post. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Yes, the issue is resolved since Yamaha has made an official recall of the bikes (fz25 and fazer 25) manufactured in 2017 and is replacing the engine head bolts that were interrupting the cam chain in the engine after loosening.
Don't worry, before booking enquire the sales manager at the Yamaha showroom about the batch(2017 or 2018), if they are 2018 batch bikes, go ahead.
Hope this helped.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Part of the rattling sound was possible to the bolts loosening. Two bolts hold a breather plate maybe 1 or 1.5mm thick and quite wide. It has close clearance with the cam cover. So obviously when the bolts loosened it was vibrating. Mine were loose by a full turn at 8300km. Nothing much. Just apply thread locker and tighten. If taken to correct torque, it should never loosen again in my opinion.Last edited by Kirankarunan; 01-22-2018, 05:33 PM.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
In my bike, I have observed a new problem. Whenever the petrol goes into reserve the fuel indicator in the bike will blink but in my bike it won't and stay still in the last and will not show kilometers to empty as well. I always keep my one trip meter empty because of that a couple of times I filled the petrol. Twice I didn't reset and the tank got empty even then it will show one bar in the meter.
Left the bike in service center, and they said it's the sensor unit in the fuel pump is faulty and they told they will replace it under warranty. Also the service center person told similar kind of issue was seen in first batch of FZ 16V2.0 and Yamaha replaced the sensor in fuel pump.
If anyone facing such issue take it to the service center. In FZ 25 the sensor is integrated in the fuel pump and it's not a separate unit, so if it's faulty have to replace the entire pump.Yamaha RX100 (1993)

Want to be proved wrong, but I dont think this recall has anything to do with tappet sound.Originally posted by virusuman View PostYes, the issue is resolved since Yamaha has made an official recall of the bikes (fz25 and fazer 25) manufactured in 2017 and is replacing the engine head bolts that were interrupting the cam chain in the engine after loosening.

The recall was just to tighten the bolts. Tappets operate at different area.2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
The reason I posted this was many customers of FZ 25 complained about the rattling noise and that was because of the loosened bolts not the tappet noise.
I never wanted to prove anyone wrong
Plz don't feel that way.
If you think still this post didn't help, happy for any better suggestions from rest of the folks to get your bikes tappet issue resolved
Happy riding

Not pointing out at you. Just saying that recall is not related to tappet (or coin rattle which is same).Originally posted by virusuman View PostThe reason I posted this was many customers of FZ 25 complained about the rattling noise and that was because of the loosened bolts not the tappet noise.
