Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I am facing a similar situation. There is a very slight wobble and feeling of uneasiness on rare occasions of cornering or uneven roads. But other than that I rode it at 100kmph and it seems stable enough.Originally posted by Kirankarunan View PostHi according to the factory shouldn't attempt to straighten it. Do you experience pulling to the side or unstable behavior while braking ? Otherwise leave it be is my opinion
The service center guy told the same, that when I go to change my fork oil, he can straighten it out.
So is replacement a better option?. It isn't really bothersome, and the bike remains stable even under hard braking conditions. Confused!

This seems to be another problem. Some others here experienced similar and had some work done on the coneset from what I remember. One person here had the entire front assembly changed.Originally posted by Joe29 View PostI am facing a similar situation. If I can save up, I will most probably replace the forks rather than try to straighten it out.Originally posted by Kirankarunan View PostThis seems to be another problem. I had a nasty pothole experience and also once the bike fell sideways due to improper application of the side stand.
But I noticed this wobble only on a recent long trip and once the service center told about the bend, I confirmed that those incidents had an impact on the bike.
We have Fz16s with the same issue in xbhp threads itself. One of the members had mentioned that in spite of the beefy 43mm, Yamahas forks are prone to bending.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
My experience with it has been when I opened the fork for replacing the oil seal the sliding area was scratched a bit. The oil was very dust laden. Yamaha has given a service interval of every 10000km to change the fork oil. I didn't notice or do it. At 17000 the seal went. I ride in very dusty areas in Bangalore all the time. Construction dust is very sharp than usual mud I feel. But still not sure how so much dust went into the oil. Even noticed on the good fork also while draining. I saw another new FZ in traffic and realized the rear brake fluid on mine has also discolored. Should change it.Originally posted by Joe29 View PostIf I will most probably replace the forks.

Why the hell did I even buy this bike(only thing good in the FZ25 is the comfort and initial acceleration) [emoji58]

The fork tubes and T seem to be cheap, my friend recently got a quote for them, 1800 for the T and ~1300 each for the fork tubes.Originally posted by Joe29 View PostIf I can save up, I will most probably replace the forks rather than try to straighten it out.
You should have bought another R15, plain and simpleOriginally posted by Ashish Tirkey View Post
. For city commutes and relaxed highway jaunts this one is good. Completely different characters.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Bike looks stunning. Great choice of tyres as well (pilot street radials), one simple question, is the 110 front tyre a direct fit? Also what's the difference (if any) other than grip levels from the front tyre?Originally posted by Richustanly View PostGot my 4th service done. Bike is performing excellently. Installed windshield, back rest for pillion, handle bar raiser and upgraded both tyres.

Every bike from splendor to h2r is bound to have some niggles. You can either cry about it or make sure you do best to fix/avoid them. I have covered 10k kms on mixed conditions and there is no bending/cracking anywhere. Or else sell it get R15 or any other motorcycle you want.Originally posted by Ashish Tirkey View PostWhy the hell did I even buy this bike(only thing good in the FZ25 is the comfort and initial acceleration) [emoji58]

1- you didn't follow the manufacturer recommended change interval, should have done that.Originally posted by Kirankarunan View PostMy experience with it has been when I opened the fork for replacing the oil seal the sliding area was scratched a bit. 2- this is not an atv, highly dusty conditions (like yours) is bound to hurt the wear and tear parts.
P.S. Don't quote the entire picture set. Remove all pics before quotingLast edited by B7ACKTHORN; 09-24-2018, 11:19 AM.

I already own a R15 since 2012 and it still feels better built to this day.....build quality of the newer bikes isn't as good as it used to be a few years agoOriginally posted by Amrit.Singh View PostBike looks stunning. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Is the wobble at the front or the rear? Observe carefully if it's the rear tyre tramlining or if there's rear tyre wander. Also, what's your odo reading? If it's above 10000, and if your wobble is coming from the rear, it's time to clean and grease your swingarm/suspension/axle bushings and brackets.Originally posted by Joe29 View PostI am facing a similar situation. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
My comment was not meant to sound like a complaint. Just sharing my experiences. I think for what I paid in its segment it's best value for money. Some things are really cool that even in such conditions, the chain doesn't wear abnormally. Overall happy with it :-)Originally posted by Amrit.Singh View Post1- you didn't follow the manufacturer recommended change interval, should have done that.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Did you check for any rust pits in the exhaust, it seems your O2 sensor mount mouth seems to have taken a good amount of rust pitting. Rust pitting over time will make small holes on the surface and cause it to break like powder. I'd have definitely pushed them to replace the entire pipe for peace of mind. Any idea what paint they used on the exhaust?Originally posted by Dinesh.P View PostFew batches of the bike are facing this issue and yamaha has authorised few service center for the job and its free of cost they need one complete day for the paint to dry up ... last week only I did mine .
Sorry i dont have the photo after painting but its not a top notch job but decent job
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

I was not sure about upsizing the tyre because of the opinions by fellow bikers against upsizing (even though they never used the tyre [emoji19]). Stock front tyre is not good so I took the chance. It’s worth the risk bike is more stable at higher speeds, improved the braking and handling.Last edited by Richustanly; 09-24-2018, 11:42 AM.
