can the owners of 2019 fz25 confirm if the hard gear shift is present or not?
You'll never face hard gear shifts after about 2000 kms. For me, at 19700+ kms, sometimes I don't even feel the gear shifting.

      Hey Guys,

Sorry for the OT here. I'm a proud Dominar owner since 2+ years. Now I'm planning to downgrade to a FZ25 due to lack of touring off lately. The last long-ride was at least over a year ago. I'm using the Dominar for daily office commutes and the route which I take is filled with lot of traffic. Will the FZ25 be a good replacement to the current Dominar that I own?

Emphatically yes. I think all other aspects of the Dominar are brilliant except it's weight. And with regards to traffic handling, the fz25 is sheer delight, probably the best.

There is no better street fighter than the FZ25 within 1.6 L on road. Go for it eyes closed, it may feel a underpowered coming from a Dominar, but the lightweight makes up for it and is a delight riding in the city.

My 2019 FZ25 ABS was serviced this Sunday (700kms).

            1. Engine Oil (2 ltrs)- 710
            2. Oil Filter- 175
            3. Carbon Care- 100
            4. Engine Care- 160 (they put some liquid in the engine for better performance apparently)
            5. Chain Lube and Clean- 200
            6. Brake & Lock Care- 80
            7. Tank Pad- 200
            8. Seat Cover- 425
            9. Leg Guard- 990
            Total- Rs. 3040

Here are some changes I felt post first service.

Before the service, the bike would reach 18kmph at the first gear by 4k rpm and I would shift to second , now it shifts to second at 21kmph.

The engine is more smooth, a few vibrations that were present, they're gone.

I did not face any hard gear shift issues, so I cant say whether the shifts have become smoother or not.

The service experience would have been good, had I not noticed a blatant lie that the service centre told to another FZ-25 customer (Sidharth Autos, Sohna Road, Gurgaon).

They gave him the bike after service, stating that full service (it was 4th) is done, he pointed out that the engine oil was not changed. After a couple of kia/nahi kia and when the customer put his foot down, the guy went inside and and came back with the story that the engine oil tank has been topped up, not replaced due to some 'miscommunication' within themselves. The customer lost it and angrily said that he will complain of the same to Yamaha. They started saying they were sorry and will waive off the labour charges in the next service. I promptly asked to have my engine oil checked, thankfully the pin showed clear oil.

So I would not get my bike serviced here next time, but the issue is that in Gurgaon, all Yamaha dealers are owned by Sidharth Autos, so maybe will have to go to Delhi for a peaceful service experience. Anyone knows any honest service centre in near Gurgaon?
Also, my bike is Dark Matt Blue Color, is there anything that I need to do to take care of the body? I know the coating etc. that are used for gloss body colors, not sure about the Matt ones, any advise would be appreciated.

Hello, I'm currently in Delhi. Have got my 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th service done in Delhi. I've tried three of them. And I found the one in Kirti Nagar to be the best. It's called Delhi Scooters. You could also try the one in Rajouri garden, by the same name, delhi scooters.
But you'll need to be present there, at least the first time you get it serviced. They are particular about customers. If they see that you're serious about your bike's maintenance, they won't think of cheating you. If they see that you aren't experienced, and you leave the bike there and go at least the first time, they may try to cheat.
Yamaha leases out dealerships and SVCs to third parties, so the motive of the third party of to make money, and the easiest way is to cheat customers. If you have noticed any wrong doing, contact Yamaha India and they will provide a solution to you. It has happened to me and Yamaha India has helped me out.

If it's bouncing a lot, it's probably soft right? Anyway you can do it in SVC. A particular tool is required I don't know the name of it. I got mine set at the hardest setting. It's bad over bad roads but I knew that would be the case.

To the Bangalore FZ25 owners, Can you please suggest me which is the most reliable showroom/service centre for the FZ25? I plan to purchase within 2 weeks.

Don't fall for the carbon care and engine care treatments. They are just meant to increase the billing and have no effect on a new engine. Wouldn't be in the list of tasks required by tvs as part of the free services. The list is in the manual service wise. Going through this forum itself would have been knowledge enough to avoid unnecessary and a scapegoat expense.

Once every other 10k kms, get a flush from Amazon for 110 odd, pour it in yourself and get the oil changed 10 mins later.

Now, I am at 12.2k, still running with the same sprocket, waiting for the next service. So, should I be changing the entire chain/sprocket set or can the front sprocket alone can be changed?
"burst accelerate" do you do this very often? this damages the lifespan of chain sprocket. 11.5 is too early. Mostly it lasted like 20-22k for most people except manufacturing fault. Open the front sprocket cover with 8mm T socket and check if sprocket have teeth and the side wall is in good condition. If side wall is damaged then check the rear wheel alignment from both sides in the adjuster. Does teeth taken the U like shape? Replace the front sprocket only. I did it at 19k and clocked 25 without any issue. Maintain proper lubrication.

^ An interesting way the chain on this bike signals replacement is the prescence of vibrations on the handle bar at mid rpm. Mine is due at 25000km. Think could have lasted more if lubricated more often.

Yes, I did quite often. which is quite tempting in this motorcycle, so couldn't control that. Already checked the front sprocket, and the teeths are all blunt and worn out (more like the U shape). So, I guess in the upcoming service, I will ask them to replace the front sprocket alone.

Btw, is cable (clutch/accel/brake) replacement necessary for the 14-15k service? If so, has anyone tried the P220 steel braided cables? Does it help/improve? The front brakes have got way too spongy these days.

No need to change clutch and accelerator cable but keep clutch cable below rider seat as it has broke on me twice.
I know someone using rs200 steel braided hose for 1200 and re350 master cylinder 1850 works like a charm.
