Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Great explanation. This is most probably the reason for the rattle, the weak-ish springs.Originally posted by slopegatri View Posti i agree it doesn't make sense when we have many other bikes which doesn't make this kind of noise. but there's literally nothing we can do about it.

that's the part where noise comes from, i think that before 5k rpm those compression springs ( #part 21) don't fully compress, and around 5-6k rpm, it moves between non fully compressed to fully compressed position within 1 revolution thus generating rattle noise. after 6k rpm it becomes fully compressed and that noise goes away. now Yamaha could use better springs there but if those doesn't compress enough in lower rpms, bike will vibrate a lot more. i could be totally wrong here but that's my theory behind the noise.
I've found a similar explanation on some forums for the XT250.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Unfortunately they didn't show us anything. engineer only said that the noise comes from balancer and that's how it's designed and there's nothing to worry about.Originally posted by burnoutdee View Posthttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNnkU39vLws&app=desktop

that video shows that the noise is coming even at idle, i believe that's not same as fz25's rattle noise. because here it comes at a specific rpm range on every single bike. YZ250F doesn't have same issue i think. engine is totally different. thanks for the video btw.Fz25 2018 (ABS retrofitted)

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
For rear it will be fine* as the rim is 4 inch wide, although it will lower the side wall by 8mm. for front it will change the tyre profile and handling will be a bit heavy. side wall will be 3mm lower than stock. overall seat height will decrease but grip and stability will improve.Originally posted by jass007 View PostPlanning to put Apollo Alpha H1, would the tyre upside be fine?Fz25 2018 (ABS retrofitted)

You're wrong about the front. I have put Michelin Pilot Street at the front and rear both, and handling couldn't have been better. The bike is just eager to tip.Originally posted by slopegatri View PostFor rear it will be fine* as the rim is 4 inch wide, although it will lower the side wall by 8mm. for front it will change the tyre profile and handling will be a bit heavy. side wall will be 3mm lower than stock. overall seat height will decrease but grip and stability will improve.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
That's strange, because literally everyone i know who upgraded front to 110/70 is saying front is now heavier than before although with better high speed stability.Originally posted by JyotishmanS View PostYou're wrong about the front. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Usually they people say, upsizing rear cause an issue, but I guess its a myth. Hopefully the Alpha H1 shouldn't be so heavy. One person in Nepal, had put Diablo Rosso II and powertronics, but the tyre didn't cause any drop or any issues apparently. Don't know how true it is, but I'm willing to give it a try.Originally posted by slopegatri View PostThat's strange, because literally everyone i know who upgraded front to 110/70 is saying front is now heavier than before although with better high speed stability.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Usually, upsizing rear never causes an issue, rather it improves the feel and stability. But it already has a 140/70 rear, which is wide enough for a 250 cc bike. It's not like you can blindly upsize and it'll reap benefits. Before upsizing you should consider does it loses grip on cornering or in other conditions? If yes then it makes sense to play around, get a sitter tyre like Michelin PSR or RevZ S.Originally posted by jass007 View PostUsually they people say, upsizing rear cause an issue, but I guess its a myth. I'm already using Michelin PSR 140 at the rear, want to try out if 150 section at the rear. But is it worth it?Originally posted by Zapps View PostUsually, upsizing rear never causes an issue, rather it improves the feel and stability. No, until you put a Diablo Rosso or something, which has far superior grip and much better profile for cornering.Originally posted by jass007 View PostI'm already using Michelin PSR 140 at the rear, want to try out if 150 section at the rear. But is it worth it?

Is it worth to upgrade to Alpha H1, cause that's what I'm planning to put, or stick to Michelin PSRs itself? Currently running PSR at 25th K kmsOriginally posted by JyotishmanS View PostNo, until you put a Diablo Rosso or something, which has far superior grip and much better profile for cornering.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
People who have put an Alpha has said that it doesn't inspire great confidence in the wet. MPSR is just brilliant in all conditions you know. If you upsize the rear, my best bet would be the Diablo Rosso II, and of course the Metz M5 Sportec. Downside is they won't last long as they soft compound.Originally posted by jass007 View PostIs it worth to upgrade to Alpha H1, cause that's what I'm planning to put, or stick to Michelin PSRs itself? Are there any alternatives to Michelin PSR? Any affordable ones?Originally posted by JyotishmanS View PostPeople who have put an Alpha has said that it doesn't inspire great confidence in the wet.
