Best maintenance guide is given at one of most unexpected places.

Its in owners manual/maintenance guide you get with the bike. If you learn all stuff given in that, its more than enough. Handy if you are going on a long trip and had serviced your bike some time ago.

Its only for maintenance and adjustment though. Nothing about replacing any parts is described. Thats job of service technician, as per your bike manufacturer.

Oh, for that, gear oil is best...

The company specs use of grease for the stands and clutch lever but for my use find it gets gritty. Forgot the company adviced lube interval. One important note is for the front brake lever don't use oil or normal grease. Only silicon grease once in 10000km.
In fact, most of the moving parts have silicone based lubricant as the recommended variety.

Hi am not sure about that. The user manual and service manual give good information. Most user serviceable stuff is with lithium soap based grease from what I understood.

Is it just me or what guys. Been using shell ax7 semisynthetic till 10000.liked it. Used shell ultra fully synthetic. And I am not at all liking the way the bike is behaving. Now at 11700 kms and oil is already super thin and the vibes are more. Will extend it till 12000 and bye bye shell ultra. I also think semi synthetic is best for this bike . How to check synthetic oil if its burnt or not? P.s.i use shell because no yamalube sporty in my country.

That's strange, my bike performed really good with shell advance ultra FS oil. you should be able to find yamalube in showroom where you bought the bike from.

Its hard to digest to me as well haha. And ya I live in Nepal and the showroom guys here only have yamalube mineral (throughout all the service in Nepal)and they even recommend that for the r3 and also most don't tell costumers to change oil at 2500 since it's mineral....they use mineral for 5000.

Maybe try ordering it from Delhi or some place close to you. Since 5000km interval, 4 bottles will last you 10k km. Around once a year might have to order. Or write to Yamaha. Am very happy with Yamalube FS. Working well for me.

No idea about price of front one, but should be available separately in svc.

That's strange, because i asked about rear sprocket in local svc, and it's available separately. costs 450-480 something.

although they do try to sell full set. but it's upto you.
