Yes that's another thing if they are not able to rectify problems. I'll write to Yamaha after second service if issue persists. Hopefully they'll helpOriginally posted by vsbharani View PostAlso the SVC guys are not used to the new bikes. Their 10 day training is not sufficient i feel

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I don't see any particular drop in performance, it still pulls cleanly when required barring the noise and vibes. Mileage end is holding up as well. And in general people say its a characteristic noise of this engine, and you should adjust the tappet only at the manual specified intervals. For now just continue riding in hopes that things will get better after a few thousand Km's more. If it doesn't then #move on. I don't have the time or patience to fight with the SVC or Yamaha to get it sorted out. Best bet would be try to find a good SVC even if its a bit far because if you can get a good well trained mechanic, he might just be able to sort out most of the issues (from past experiences).Originally posted by Shamanth Gowda View PostThat's why should never buy a new bike. Lesson learnt. Yes, with full face helmet tappet noise gets muted. But does this issue affect engine life or performance is my main concern. Or else I can live with that

what do you mean by you got a lemon? you always mention this... but I don't understand it bro? which lemon are u talking about?Originally posted by Joe29 View PostYes. Tappet noise started right from 550 kms. It used to irritate me a lot when I used my Vega helmet, because of which I used to feel hesitant pushing the bike to above 5k rpms even after crossing those many Km's. Now I use MT helmet which drowns it out and hence am able to live with it. It seems the current batches have all these issues resolved as one guy in the Fz 25 group here got a November manufactured model last week and he says its smooth as a typical Yamaha right from day one, both gearbox and engine. Even the Powerdrifts recent review tells the gearbox issue is resolved. I got a June manufactured bike inspite of buying in November
. And to top all this I have a loud chain noise which the SVC is clueless about. I know I shouldn't write off Yamaha just because I got a lemon, but I will most probably switch back to apache if I am able to save enough after this ones loan gets over

i bought the bike on August 27th and got a May,2017 manufactured one... my gears are not hard but they tend not to come out it feels like there's emptyness even if i press the grear shift... but if i move the clutch leaver slightly up or down... gear comes out...Originally posted by Joe29 View PostYes. secondly this Friday i went to svc he adjusted my clutch and made it hard... now grear comes down immediately... however if I'm pushing the bike hard i mean the rpm hard at low speed while clutch lever being pressed and at the same time i put a gear up... it definitely make loud noise... which i think is normal...
I've seen people saying that changing to motul oil solved the gear issue and reduced engine noise and also the vibration at 5k rpm... that's why i ordered motul 7100 10w40 from amazon... will use it on my second service currently I'm at 3580 km

Hehe, sorry bro. Lemon is a term used for defective products mainly in the automotive industry. You can search in a dictionary or google. To all out there, Has anyone heard of ECU updates being rolled out that makes the bike a bit more smoother and marginally improves performance??. Thats a message one guy had put up in the Fz25 group out here.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
The loose tappet is a ubiquitous thing in high torque engine, made for better heat dissipation. In India, owing to the naturally hot climate, the tappet is slightly more loose. Have you experienced any loss in power or weakness in any rev band? If no, you're fine. My bike is at 2900 kms and even though the tappet noise is present, i enjoy it's awesome ride more, everyday.Originally posted by Shamanth Gowda View PostThe tappet noise has become worse after 3300km. Starts at 5k rpm and intensifies through the rpm range making "Garr" noise. Didn't notice earlier cause of full face helmet. I had took the bike to svc after first service, they didn't rectify it and made it worse. Any ways to get the issue fixed? Please suggest

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Woah! How i disagree with you! The NS is a terrible, terrible bike to ride after 100. Horrible footpeg vibrations and very harsh engine.Originally posted by IamAditya View Postfirst service done.
Cruised at 100-105kmph for few minutes.
I feel ns200 is more refined than this bike at 100kph and upwards.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I really wonder about this particular issue. I do 45 kms of highway rides everyday, touch 120 kph everyday. Never have i felt the engine stressed, never have i faced vibrations. And i bought the bike last September. So i really, really wonder. It could be a production cycle defect though. Every cycle of production has a bell shaped curve in terms of output quality. May have been that.Originally posted by Joe29 View PostSame here. I don't miss my RTR 160 much from the Vibe perspective
. I was expecting it to become better with time. But with more people with more Km's on the ODO saying it is yet to change, I am sure I will ever feel the true Yamaha smoothness and that I got a lemon. The test ride bike felt pretty smooth and I took it only till 70 and didn't feel vibes. I never got to check how much it had run. But being a dedicated test bike, it would have been pretty much abused inspite of which it felt nice. Whereas mine starts becoming vibey, especially high frequency irritating vibes from the tank area right after I cross 65 to 70.Last edited by JyotishmanS; 12-24-2017, 01:58 PM.
