All was done at 1300km odo...now I am at 8200 odo
Sharing an info i got to know,

On fz25 we have hydraulic tappets like Royal Enfield, so the sound is completely normal, just ignore.
The Aprilia SR150 too has this kind of sound, it too has hydraulic tappets.

Good for you, that's what I said - there are better options out there for everyone.

For me, Motul 5100 SS turned my (now sold) 2009 model FZ16 into a tractor.

      Regards.

Hi.. After reading your previous posts, I too have this tappet noise which starts from 4k rpm and intensifies at 5k rpm and makes "Garr" noise. After 5k the engine sounds harsh but tappet noise reduces . Are you experiencing same issue even after head replacement? My odo is 3100 and I have been to svc twice to get the issue sorted out but no luck.
Can I ask for head replacement as you did or just live with the issue? Thanks

Noises are not technically issue actually in fz25 engine, it just irritates your senses. Even after head replacement there was no gain in quietness of engine. Better try to live with that. BTW I am satisfied with the performance of this engine. Perfect combo of mielage + power.

head replacement? Why would you need to change the head? There are some peculiar noises from the engine once it warms up, but nothing that sounds very serious! My FZ25 came with the clutch cable adjusted incorrectly and hence the gear shifting was hard and whimsical.

After adjusting the cable adjuster ( right side of the engine where the clutch cable passes near the engine block) the gear shifting improved considerably.

hey, I've ordered Motul 7100 10w40 from amazon.in for my fz 25 the package says an import date of April, 2017 while the manufacturing date is 13th March,2017.

Now my question is i would be using the same oil for my fz 25 in next service which would probably be by next 1500 kilometres or January end 2018 i.e. next month.

will the oil be expire by that time? how much shelf life does motul 7100 has?

Please advise... also as of now only 1 bottle has arrived the other one is yet to come... maybe that would be of different date... i can use them both together right? [emoji14]

Yeah I replaced unnecessarily in warranty. At that time (April) coin rattling noise was strange to everyone, even for service engineer also. But now its a known characteristics of this engine.

7100 will last for max 4000km. Fz25 needs 1.45 litre of oil with oil filter change. Without oil filter change 1.35 litre.

please read my question again bro...i was asking about shelf life not running life...

shelf life means it's packed in container
