Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Regarding the headlamp vibration, I have fitted a Pulsar AS200 windshield in hopes of less wind blast. Which did not happen. But the headlamp does not vibrate at all as it is fastened by two more screws.Originally posted by praks1704 View PostGuys anyone has done any mods for the headlight assembly vibration issue. About the KTM LED indicators, I have heard that without interfering with the wiring, it is not possible or even if it is done, the blinking of the lights will be slower. Members, please correct me if I am wrong.
Thank you.

Hi Raja Ji,Originally posted by Rajathrajk View Post
We have change this unit to install adjustable lever
To that unit and a button (which helps to start when bike is in gear) all these cost 200rs

Lever cost 800rs
And labour charge 100re
So total 1100rs
Need some clarity on above mods.
1. Link or name of the levers.
2. That clutch lever holder belongs to which model.
3. Whether both brake and clutch lever holders need to change?
TIA

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
While on the way back to Bengaluru from Kukke Subramanya, my bike suddenly refused to start. The display used to restart everytime I attempted to start the bike, and the starter made a click sound when the button was pressed. Classic battery problem. For some 5-6kms prior to this, I could feel some loss in power - the bike was struggling to build speed and I was finding it hard to cross 60-70kmph.
I called Arunay (who had gone ahead and stopped to wait for us) to inform him of the situation. He suspected the battery, and so I started removing the seat, panels to check. Everything seemed fine - the terminals were tight, fuse was fine, etc. Luckily managed to push start with the help of a samaritan. I somehow managed to reach home after a thunderstorm, the bike needed 4 more push starts on the way back though (one time due to my carelessness - seeing the Nelamangala underpass, I was overjoyed and decided to stop for a minute. Left the clutch by mistake after coming to a halt).
The next day, I checked the open circuit voltage, it was just 11.6V. I tried charging the battery at home, but it wouldn't retain charge. Not wanting to go through warranty shenanigans, I replaced it with an Amaron BTZ7 (Beta Pro Rider 6Ah), which costed 1300 with buyback and chitchat discount. Luckily no problems with the charging, measured 14.5V when the bike was running.
My bike has done only 10k kms, and is only 9 months old. Not sure what caused it, but I've found similar posts on xbhp and other forums regarding the battery dying much faster than expected.
Mods, please remove the links if inappropriate.
Vibrations are there in the bike, although they're not at irritable levels. You maybe a bit sensitive to vibrations, as you're coming from bikes like the 220, ZMR and Unicorn which are relatively vibe free. I owned a Unicorn 160 and Gixxer prior to this, and still use my father's 25 year old CD100. All of them feel like electric bikes compared to this one. Can't really compare the refinement of a big single with a much smaller single.Originally posted by karthik99 View PostGuys, I have been FZ25 owner since December 2018 and it has been disappointing and awful experience.
Have been suffering from worst vibrations even under seat, foot pegs, Handle bars at as low as 4K RPM.
Also, suspension has been too stiff injuring my back. Visited the SVC multiple times and even tried Escalating with no success.
This has been nth bike and very bad experience. Please help in restoring Japanese feel for the bike which has done 1800 KMS.
Also, 1800kms is way too less to judge the vibrations on the bike.
The rear suspension is a bit stiff, but adequate to handle potholes and bad roads (ride one of the Honda 160s, you'll change your mind about the stiffness). You can adjust it to be softer, though the bike may bottom out on rogue humps.
To be honest, there is hardly any difference between these oils, mostly minor differences such as slightly smoother shifts. This is mainly due to the relatively low compression, and crude (somewhat agricultural) engine. Yamalube is good enough.Originally posted by truelypulsarian View PostShell AX7 is also very good alternative.
Also try LIQUIMOLY oils they are the best oils from germany.Last edited by Shashank K R; 06-04-2019, 03:19 AM.

Yeah, the suspension on HONDA's 160cc lineup is too hard. I think it's the hardest in 150cc class in india !Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostWhile on the way back to Bengaluru from Kukke Subramanya, my bike suddenly refused to start. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
First, check your chain condition. Whether it's too dirty or too tight. Next, check if for some reason, your swingarm bushings and shaft is dry or loose. If yes, tighten them after greasing. Third, check if everything from torque to greasing of your coneset is fine. If not, do it to spec. Suspension stiffness you can easily adjust.Originally posted by karthik99 View PostGuys, I have been FZ25 owner since December 2018 and it has been disappointing and awful experience.

And yeah, above everything, give it time. Post 5000 kms, bike will be smoother, post 10000 kms, you'll have nothing to complain about.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
This is Karthik here and hereby I introduce my FZ 25 - Dark matt blue ABS
My first riding impressions are
1. very hard to shift gears; service center guys are telling it will improve based on more usage
2. the front seat to be loose and need to be tightened
3. the front light assembly seem to be loose and the service center mentioned thats normal
Would like to hear from owners who have taken recent delivery of their bikes if they have also noticed such issues and did it get resolvedLast edited by Karthik; 06-04-2019, 11:39 AM.

Congratulations on the bike. You have bought the most sensible quarter litre in India as of now. Regarding your impressions, here is my experience:Originally posted by Karthik View PostThis is Karthik here and hereby I introduce my FZ 25 - Dark matt blue ABS

1. Hard gear shifts will go away. Be particular about in first service and ask them to adjust gear lever play and gear chamber pressure (if needed). This problem will certainly go away with more miles. At 20700 odd kms, I hardly feel the notches of my gears.
2. I hope tightening the seat has solved the issue.
3. If your front light assembly is not causing visibility issues, then a slightly loose headlight is the norm for the fz25. I haven't faced any issues pertaining to it yet, and I haven't tightened it too.
Wish you happy miles.

Thanks JyotishmanS. I got the bike delivered yesterday, so will go to the service center to get the seat tightened. Looking forward to make memories with my new compadre.Originally posted by JyotishmanS View PostCongratulations on the bike. You have bought the most sensible quarter litre in India as of now. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi, Currently I am facing this Beep sound issue after a Water wash. It has been a day now the sound is still present from the time the ignition is ON and through out the ride. What should I do? Will it vanish by itself? or shall I try parking my bike under sun for a while and check?Originally posted by GandalfTheGrey View PostI too faced this issue twice. Both of the times it was immediately after water wash. The beep stayed for a couple of hours and vanished once the bike was dry. So I'm not sure whether it's related to water seeping somewhere inside, any chance your bike was completely drenched in rain or did you wash the bike recently?
Cheers!
Should I visit SVC for this? How long did the sound persisted for you?
Thanks..

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Yes, its quite troublesome when the battery just dies. I am terrible at electricals but perhaps a volt indicator or volt meter is a useful addition to this bike if being used away from city limits often. Jump starting it is painful as one needs to get the fuel pump going unlike a carb bike.Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostWhile on the way back to Bengaluru from Kukke Subramanya, my bike suddenly refused to start.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Here is the Supplementary Service manual for fz/fazer25 abs versions. it will be helpful with troubleshooting abs related issues. also this cleared my doubts about retrofitting abs to my bike. will soon start working on it.
also if anyone owns d390/dom400 can you please measure the brake hose length from abs unit to rear caliper? it will be very helpful for me. thanks.Last edited by slopegatri; 06-04-2019, 08:06 PM.Fz25 2018 (ABS retrofitted)

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Yeah there's almost 110-120 changes and additions to parts for abs. rear (Nissin) and front (Bybre) caliper is same as before, front master cylinder is now made by Nissin instead of Bybre. abs unit is by Bosch.Originally posted by Kirankarunan View PostWow so many additional components. 3 fuses only for ABS related.
