Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I would like to give an update on the Masseters. Mileage has dropped down to 36km/pl from earlier 40km/pl.
Now this drop is justified. That's because I rip open the throttle more often now, as I have the confidence of the bike's stopping ability. Stops in a straight line, and is no longer a snake in tarmac. Acceleration- I'm not sure if it has reduced. It's supposed to as these tyres are sticky compared to stock tyres. In case it's reduced, its marginal, something I wouldn't have thought about at all if I didn't know that sticky tyres reduce acceleration. Moreover, I feel safer on the bike now than before.
I'd suggest all of you to get better tyres on this bike.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Need some help, had a small accident this morning because front wheel lockup before speedbreaker. thankfully nothing major happened to me (only pain in right wrist) because low speed and i was wearing full gears. but bike is kinda ruined. handle is bent, fork , exhaust and leg guard is also bent. lots of scratches on right side tank scoop and headlight.
just want to know if this will be covered under insurance or not? as accident happened because of my stupidity ? i don't have any experience on how to deal with insurance company.
thanks.Fz25 2018 (ABS retrofitted)

First of all, it's an accident. Stupid or not, accident is different from voluntarily crashing your bike. It's like falling from the train vs putting your hands on the railway track waiting for the train to run over you.Originally posted by slopegatri View PostNeed some help, had a small accident this morning because front wheel lockup before speedbreaker. thankfully nothing major happened to me (only pain in right wrist) because low speed and i was wearing full gears. but bike is kinda ruined. handle is bent, fork , exhaust and leg guard is also bent. lots of scratches on right side tank scoop and headlight.

Please don't tell the insurance company that it's your mistake. Just tell them you skidded when applying brake. Stick to that story.

Just Go to svc and inform its an accident.A surveyor will be allocated and after he checks the damage work will be started.Since no other vehicle is involved no need of fir and all.Just have a couple of fotos of incidents if u can.thats itOriginally posted by slopegatri View PostNeed some help, had a small accident this morning because front wheel lockup before speedbreaker. thankfully nothing major happened to me (only pain in right wrist) because low speed and i was wearing full gears. but bike is kinda ruined. handle is bent, fork , exhaust and leg guard is also bent. lots of scratches on right side tank scoop and headlight.

but in 12years and 50k kms of riding. this the first time i have fell down like this ( never had a single accident, not even minor). as i'm always very careful. that's why something like this is stupid to me.Originally posted by leech View PostFirst of all, it's an accident. Hey ashwanth.r, sorry for the late reply, how's the GSOriginally posted by ashwanth.r View PostShanx, did they/you finally replace the forks/handebar/T ?
?
Unfortunately I haven't been able to find the time to visit the SVC. I'm planning to go down there sometime next week.
But after the adjustment the SVC did roughly a month ago, it has a mind of its own. Sometimes it feels correctly aligned while other times it reverts to how it was before. I noticed that it feels normal (correctly aligned) with a pillion at all times.
Definitely something weird about the suspension on some FZ25s. Either the triple clamps have some kind of defect which leaves them unable to firmly clamp the forks, or the fork tubes themselves have some bend.Last edited by Shashank K R; 12-11-2018, 12:49 PM.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Had a similar stupid accident, i was not careful enough and applied front brake at 30 Kmph, fell down to the right side and we (bike and myself) skidded for 2-3 meters.Originally posted by slopegatri View PostNeed some help, had a small accident this morning because front wheel lockup before speedbreaker. thankfully nothing major happened to me (only pain in right wrist) because low speed and i was wearing full gears. but bike is kinda ruined. handle is bent, fork , exhaust and leg guard is also bent. lots of scratches on right side tank scoop and headlight.

thanks.
Damage:
1. Scratches on brake lever, handle weight, Tank extension, front number plate and exhaust muffler.
2. bent handle bar.
got the handle bar changed (Rs 550 inclusive of all) fork alignment was all right. i dint claim insurance. though you should, if the amount is higher and yes it is covered under insurance.

literally exact same thing happened to me. although on my bike the fork alignment is not right and exhaust touches the rear axle bolt.Originally posted by Abhilash831989 View PostHad a similar stupid accident, i was not careful enough and applied front brake at 30 Kmph, fell down to the right side and we (bike and myself) skidded for 2-3 meters.

It's okay, I thought you must have been busy. Less said about my GS, the betterOriginally posted by Shashank K R View Posthow's the GS

. Both my bro's Activa and GS lying in the parking lot untouched for the last 2-3 years. I will be transitioning to a non-Jap next year, mostly an old school Bajaj.
I tried searching the internet for fork/triple tree problems in the Brazilian FZ250 - didn't find any - hope it's only a vendor-supply-quality issue and not a design inadequacy.
