I also chatted with him about 'Cloudtail' seller in Amazon. He said at times cloud tail sells cheaper than the cost price for the dealer. How does he do it? He had no idea.
I'm going to ask Shell if this cloud tail is a genuine reseller. I have my doubts. This dealer too said cloud tail had no link with Shell.

    How's the Ax7?
I'm going to rishikesh soon. So will give an update about how the oil is performing!
Tomorrow I'm also going to get the fork oil replaced. I'll be using Motul Techno synthetic (semi synthetic) fork oil 10w. And I'm going to take the risk and add bit of 20w Motul fork oil. Anyone interested in why I'm doing this can message me. It's a long explanation.
Cloudtail itself is Amazon's officially unofficial seller (a subsidiary kinda arrangement, due to govt regulations etc..). Like how WSretail was flipkart's benami . Cloudtail iirc was a tie up between amazon and infy cofounder narayan murthy's company 'catamaran ventures'
They sell genuine oils so don't worry. Sometimes they have oil that's a year old (nothing wrong with it, oil is usually good for atleast 2yrs in a sealed bottle) and might also be getting a lower price from a distributor etc.. and hence lower prices. Big guns, big money.. take advantage of the prices. I've been buying oil's only from amazon since a couple of years.. saves me close to 200~300 bucks at each service.
I don't think they are 'official' dealers of any brand of oil.. just like some local shops who get their supplies from a local distributor and resell.

The oils from Shell & Motul are good, aint going to break anything and are safe to use. What causes issues is irregular oil changes and neglected maintenance. no oil is going to undo the damage that's already been done. Stick to recommended grade, or maybe one higher (e.g. w30 to w40) and you should be fine.

Today I noticed my front discs slipping and checking further, I saw the front right shock's seals are broken and leaking. Thinking of changing the oil now, so could you share what you have in mind with respect to mixing. I think many would appreciate the information, if you post it here.
And btw, would you know what's the capacity of oil needed for the shocks and if its 10w by default?

Hi does anyone know how to repair scratches on the plastic back panel on the left side and on pillion grab rail? Is there a way to repair? If not, how much will it cost to replace them?

Hi, I am planning to buy the FZ25. What are all the issues which I need to be careful about? Has Yamaha solved the Headlight issue of the FZ? Has the illumination improved and has the vibrations lessened of the headlight? My general usage will be in the city and occasional highway rides. Should I go for the FZ25 or should I look for other options? My main concern is the headlight.

If you will ride in the city mostly, then don't bother about the headlight. It's powerful enough to be comfortable in the city. And vibrations on the headlight will only be felt on consistently uneven roads. No way is the headlight a deal breaker.

Instead of mixing 20w oil with 10w why don't youget a 15 w fork oil from castrol/motul.It will reduce the nose dive and give a consistent performance as well. And remember to fill exactly 469ml of oil for each fork.

9k kms and so no actual issues on the bike , except the lighting is low and ita illegal to use aux lights in kerala.

My high beam gone kaput yesterday. Bike had peen parked in open area and it rained yesterday. After rains got over, just when I started bike there was smoke/fumes formed in HL unit and immediately high beam gone, though high beam indicator in console is glowing but LED in reflector not glowing.
I feel rain water seeped inside reflector. Bike is one year old and in last year rain also I used to park in open but usually cover it. This time it was first heavy rainfall of season and I was not able to cover bike.
This quality not expected from Yamaha.Click image for larger version

Is there a way to install R15's gearbox into Fz25? We can all agree that not having a 6th gear is one of the major cons of this bike, along with the rear tyre and if R15 gearbox is a direct fit, it would help the bike to great a extent.

                                That not how gearboxes work.
Not possible unless Yamaha wants to do it.
