My odo is at 3k as of now.
I have done short weekend Rides only till now.
And i am planning to do long rides also after my 12th class.(i am in 12th class[emoji5])

Bike has been quite good till now. There are always some pros and some cons in every bike. This bike also has. Here i am mentioning some cons only:-

          1. Headlight shakes on uneven roads.
          2. Lower Gears are hard .
          3. Vibration at 5.2k rpm.

And last, Yamaha gave welded Exhaust/muffler, Whereas in KTM/Dominar you can remove exhaust/muffler by just opening nuts. Anyone knows why?
Heard Yamaha has worked on the head lights and clutch in order to ensure smooth shifting.
Regarding the exhaust in a mass production it would be cost efficient and requires less man hours than a normal exhaust with slip on.
Yamaha has kept cost low in every possible way just to price it competitive.

P.S. Dinesh, kindly remove all pics before quoting posts with pictures. Helps in readability for mobile users and PC users. Thanks.

Long story short, Im planning to buy sometime in January 2018. And as everyone else I desire good quality in my first bike.

I have seen this on almost all FZ25s, the exhaust pipe connected to the engine head is always reddish brown. Like its gonna rust real bad. (See attached picture)

Since I stay close to the sea in Mumbai, Im worried about the metals on the bike catching rust too easily.(the wind is corrosive) I'd like to know from current owners if this actually could be a problem. Does your bike too have the reddish brown coat on the pipe? I have seen it in the showrooms it is supposed to be black in colour.

              Cheers.
My personal suggestion would be to have a look at what KTM also offers for a little bit more price than Yamaha.

No doubt that the Duke 200 will be slightly costlier, but I bet, you will definitely have a bigger smile on your face when you ride that entry level beast from KTM.

The most important advantages of a KTM over TVS Apache 200/ Yamaha F25 are numerous:
              1. Faster and quicker
              2. Looks killer, grabs more eyes for sure
              3. Great performance
              4. Bosch fuel injection system
              5. WP suspension, both front and rear
              6. Sounds crazy [emoji12]
              7. Loves to rev hard, trust me, it stays happy even when revving at 11k rpm!
              8. The list goes on and on and on...

All these are my experience of owning a 200 for 1.5 years. Last month I upgraded to a Duke 250.

Once you own a KTM, you will never want to switch to other brands.

              Just give a try!

              Wish you good luck[emoji4]

              • Facing some brake issue after service

So I had given my vehicle for service about 4 days ago and after service my back break seems to have lost 80% of its original stopping power and the front about 25%? Is this something that is common?

I have tried to apply a couple of sudden breaks hoping that it would come back to normal and also have let it dry completely.

Is something wrong with the brakes? Do I take it back to the SVC and get it checked?

Also, after how kms would be ideal to change engine oil? And should I switch to Motul or continue with Yamalube? I have completed about 4000 kms.

Rub disk rotor with cotton cloth soaked with soapy water or microfiber cloth for some time, svc polish guys usually polish rotor also due to which brake slips. Ride carefully. After rubbing 2-3 occasions and some ride it will be alright.

Ideally engine oil should be changed max at 3500km though yamaha recommend 5000km. Wait for 10000km to settle down engine components then shift to high quality FS oil brand change.

Hello guys.. its been a week since i bought my fz25. I always ride it below 4k rpm and also maintain the speed limit. Two days back i rode the bike in rain ( i had to). After riding it in rain there is some burning smell coming from below.
What is the reason of the same??

What work? You mean adjusting the throw angle?

Although the headlight beam in the epic appears bright, so I'm a little curious as to whether Yamaha changed something to improve the intensity of the beam. Anyone else feel this? Or is it just the pitch black area, making the appear bright in pics?

I bought the bike 15 days ago. I don't know the intensity of problem old users are facing but I'm not satisfied with the lights. The pictures are taken in black and thus looks pretty bright. Headlights feels dim even if a single bike with halogen come from opposite side.

Talking about the spread, the area of illumination is quite low IMO, it's difficult to judge entering in the road and potholes.

I'm in a dilemma whether to install aux fog lamps or not and what will be the effect on battery performance, as the running of the bike is very less in my case.

If daily day run is very less then don't install aux setup as it will put load on battery as well as charging circuit.
