I had a small Update aswell. Went to another Service center and it seems Yamaha has issued a Dealer Service Action for replacing the clutch hub assembly for all bikes reporting hard gear shifts. Another thing he told was that the rear sprocket bushing or something related to that also has to be replaced for the chain noise to change because alignment can't be corrected with the current set. This also an advisory from Yamaha. Only thing is getting stock of the spares is a huge task and wait .
I haven't faced chain noise as yet. It seems your SVCs are bad, period. My gear got smoothened after opening of gearbox.

It is very irritating. I don't revv bike now above 4.5k rpm just because of these irritating vibrations.
If anyone have solution, please help.

I have also tried rubber handle bar grips, but this didn't help.
I think the vibrations in the 4 to 5k rpm range is there to stay. There aren't any vibrations till about 7k/120 kph though.

I fail to understand the fetish with top speed. Was riding on the Guwahati-Nagaon highway today and people from Assam will vouch as this road stretch being world-class. Even there, riding above 125kph is taxing at best. In everyday life, even the dominar doesn't seem to come close in traffic handling. Did the much desired 142 kph though. Bike doesn't go beyond that on plain stretches. Touched 145 kph for a while, but was assisted by a mild slope.

                    Hello all.
Been following this thread for some time now.
Considering FZ25 as my next bike.
Just had a couple of queries though. Help from the fellow owners is appreciated.

                    1) "Coin rattling sound"- So many owners have complained about some coin rattling sound. Also, I've read that it has been rectified by Yamaha in the newer versions. Anyone who has recently bought the bike can throw some light if the suspected sound is rectified or not.
                    2) Headlight and electrical- Yes, the headlight is kind of poor. It might not affect in the city but affects on the highway at night. I tour whenever I can and it might include some unintentional night riding. Adding auxiliary lights will void the electricals warranty, but I can let go the warranty for my own safety and convenience. Now, I've read that the alternator is kind of weak in FZ25 and cannot handle extra lights with ease. Also, FZ25 only has a single fuse. Would it be a problem as adding extra lights would be a necessity for me if I buy this bike. (I have not much knowledge about electrical so experts can throw some light.)
                    3) The odometer and ABS- People say that their calculator looks better than the FZ25 odo. But I don't really care as long as it shows the speed and RPM. ABS would have been great on the bike. But I can live without ABS as I've been riding a heavy and non-ABS bike for about 35000 kms now (RE Thunderbird).

Those are the issues which I need to clarify before making a decision.
Also, if there are any other small/big unsaid issues which I should know as a prospective buyer, I'd like to hear them.

I too have the same issue. Odo is 2600. The vibration is strong and I can feel it under seat and footpegs too. The mirrors become useless past 80kmph coz of this vibration. And it's smooth till 90 to 95 in my case. After that the vibration persists. Bought yamaha thinking it'll be smooth till 100kmph but very dissapointed. Have been to svc twice for this issue. They are not able to rectify it. Planning to change oil to fully synthetic from shell after 10000 km . Motul oil has issue with this engine. Also I keep the speed at 85 to 90 which is 5.4 to 6k rpm for Smooth experience since I commute only in highway. That's how I'm living with this issue

When I got my first service done that's what they put in the bike. Yamalube sporty premium FS. They also told they use same oil in R3. But it's just a mineral oil. Other brands FS oil costs from 800 to 1200 for a litre . Yamalube FS costs 280 for a litre? Yamaha thinks ppl are fool and don't have basic knowledge of oil and engine. I owned a gixxer before and was using motul 7100 10w40 FS. It's an great oil for that bike. But as per owners in this forum motul causes oil seal break so want to try shell ax7 SS or shell ultra FS.

Bro how can they give good quality FS for such a low cost? That's my point here. This is a 250 cc engine and we need a proper FS oil not some shit FS oil that costs 340. KTM duke 200 uses motul 7100 and that costs around 800. I know how good that oil is.
