Yay!!!!! I was right.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View Post
Condition of my air filter. Opened myself. Seems dirty and humid also.
Quoting linkin park
Fire need space to burn (and air)
Bikes with bigger capacity need more air than regular 150 cc bikes. But air filter sizes remain same, when compared with 150 cc bikes.
So they get dirty much faster than regular 150 cc bikes.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Though your air filter is indeed smoked up from the looks of it, it isn't severe enough a problem to restrict airflow which can cause problems. Use compressed air gun and give it a waving patern to clean the dust, dust vertically, go along the pleats. It's humid because, some amount of oil is present in the airfilter due to blowby and the extremely humid air with high WV can indeed damp the filter.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View Post

Do not keep anything under the seat near the air intake that can restrict air flow such as RC book rolled in plastic bag or what not. Always make sure the intake is free from any restrictions.

The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

As per manual air filter shouldn't be cleaned by compressed air. Yamaha recommend replacement only at 15k kms interval. Dont know if filter could be damaged more by cleaning.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostThough your air filter is indeed smoked up from the looks of it, it isn't severe enough a problem to restrict airflow which can cause problems. Viscous air filters can’t be cleaned with compressed air. Regular paper filters can be cleaned. Not sure which type these FZ25 air filters are.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View PostAs per manual air filter shouldn't be cleaned by compressed air. On some bikes such as CBR, you have a warning note on the filter cover, clearly stating only to REPLACE and not to clean. But, guess what, if one knows how to reuse stuff, things can come a long time. Foam types can be reused by cleaning them thoroughly in solvents. Filter won't get damaged per se, as long as the air is just waved and the filter held at a distance from the air gun. Do not bring the tip of the gun so close where the tip of the gun touches the filter element. Keep the gun, two to three feet and gently provide a whiff, you can see dust coming out.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View PostAs per manual air filter shouldn't be cleaned by compressed air. If air filters are fully smoked up and have an unpleasant odor, then it's imperative to change them no matter what dusting or blowing one does. The core of the filters are gummed up and a new one is required. If it's just like what's in your case, some TLC can do the trick.
A tip though, clean AFs from the inside out meaning, air should NOT be blowed from where the air gets sucks in, the top of the filter part you see when you open the filter cover, instead from UNDERNEATH where filtered air is sucked in to the engine.
Cheers!

Yes, those stains you see on the filter box is oil, which is the result of blowby which is perfectly normal. The blowby is re-routed to the intake via the aif filter, that's why you have air filter drain hoses which drain in case there is excess oil collected.Originally posted by kris123456 View PostViscous air filters can’t be cleaned with compressed air. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi all,
This is my first post here.
I've added handle bar risers to my FZ25 and want to share the info here since some of us are looking for the same.
I booked my FZ25 in March but due some family emergency I couldn't take the delivery till April. Then was happy for two months and then the rains started and due to Pune road conditions and traffic we started car pool so my baby was just being used for 10km per week. And when I went on long ride in ghat section during the rains, for around 250km, by the time I reached home in the evening I observed that driving this baby for long rides is not easy(at least for me).
The elbow joints were paining due to the stretched position. So I started to look for alternatives/ modifications for the handle to make it a little more comfortable. Then after the rainy season, I came across these Handle Bar risers and ordered them. First approached the Yamaha Service Center and the guys there are not interested in trying to fit them and straight away refused saying that the cable length would not be sufficient.
Then I approached Slipstream performance guys in Pune. They did a good job in fitting them on the bike. The cables needed to be re-routed for the length to be sufficient. Now I'm enjoying the ride very much.
Now I'm planning to order these.

Brother, the M10 10 mm CNC mirror riser is not suitable for Yamaha bikes. It's written in product description.Originally posted by adityapinn View PostHi all,

Almost all fz25 has this its normal.Originally posted by JyotishmanS View PostOkay so this has crept up yesterday. Vibrations in the rear brake pedal. High enough to cause tingles in my foot. Can someone help?
you can attach any rubber mounting to the brake pedal to counter that.
