It is simply out of curiosity! I'm not better than Yamaha designers, but I just want to know the science behind everything rather than just enjoying the application of it.Originally posted by krishan..... View Post

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I understand your feelings but, whatever we do we can't beat them because they also do their homework or jus like u said "science behind these" that's why, if the company says to use FS and you r trying or thinking to use SS no body stoping u its upto u , u can use it then you'll know which is better...that's the only way to find out...Originally posted by raahul11 View PostIt is simply out of curiosity! Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Yamaha has mineral oil too.Originally posted by raahul11 View PostDear fellow riders,
I was going through some studies on engine oils and found this article
Synthetic engine oil offers far superior lubrication as compared to conventional mineral-based oil. Mineral engine oil is almost entirely natural while synthetic oil is the product of chemical preparation ...
it has clearly mentioned, " Synthetic oil, with its superior lubricating properties, hinders the running-in process and is best used only after 10,000 – 15,000 km."
AFAIK, SVC replaces the mineral oil with synthetic one during 1st service. Isn't it quite early according to the article? Or are there any other theories behind it?
Is there any "semi-synthetic" option available as a midway, and how would it be?
Moderators and experienced people need your expertise here!
TIA!
They ask you to go for synthetic oil because they make 3X more on it. But manual says mineral oil.
Choose as you like. Should not be a very big deal.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
What you read is correct. Yamaha fs is not actual fs oil. Put any lable on it who will come to know. I feel its like mineral only because the oil didn't last any more than 2.5k. Its good till 2k only. 2nd service was after 4k but oil went very bad at 3k only. I got my service done at 4k odo. Now will be changing oil in 2-2.5k.Originally posted by raahul11 View PostDear fellow riders,

Company recommend to run for 5k. It won't stretch till that at all. Engine loves new engine oil. Change early and your engine will be happy.

Probably that's why motul fully synthetic oil 7100 didn't suit this bikeOriginally posted by paul.1911 View PostWhat you read is correct. Yamaha fs is not actual fs oil. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hey guys, Im struggling to choose between two bikes the RTR 200 and the second is FZ25. I love the design and dynamics the apache has to offer but I cant get over the torque this yamaha has to offer.
Long story short, Im planning to buy sometime in January 2018. And as everyone else I desire good quality in my first bike.
I have seen this on almost all FZ25s, the exhaust pipe connected to the engine head is always reddish brown. Like its gonna rust real bad. (See attached picture)
Since I stay close to the sea in Mumbai, Im worried about the metals on the bike catching rust too easily.(the wind is corrosive) I'd like to know from current owners if this actually could be a problem. Does your bike too have the reddish brown coat on the pipe? I have seen it in the showrooms it is supposed to be black in colour.
Cheers.

That is baked mud, not rust. Removable with some rubbing.Originally posted by a_shirke8 View Post

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Quality wise, value for money, refinement wise Apache is better bro. I'm not happy with the built Quality offer by yamaha on Fz25, the fit and finish of some parts is very very bad the front mudguard, headlight etc shakes a lot even when u accelerate it on double stand... But the looks of this bike is so better than Apache in my opinion...I don't like Apache front portion but I like the colours offered by TVS.......I wish Yamaha fz25 had that Matt grey colour...I love that colour...Originally posted by a_shirke8 View PostHey guys, Im struggling to choose between two bikes the RTR 200 and the second is FZ25. My bike doesn't have this reddish silencer pipe cause I didn't face the monsoon with it but yeah if u clean your bike time to time that may not be a problem....but these kind of silencer pipe material isn't long lasting...my friend have a old hornet and its silencer pipe is get rusty in just 2½ years ...😂😂😂

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
That was exactly my first assumption. But its weird that there is mud that high up the silencer pipe. And there are no signs of mud on the other parts close to it.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View PostThat is baked mud, not rust. Removable with some rubbing.
I just found it really weird. But I assume if you own the bike, you know better. I will confront the dealer with respect to this. Perhaps, the fazer250 will not face this mud issue.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Because front fender is high on rear side and tyre sprays all dirt and mud directly to pipe which get baked due to heat. I have removed baked mud many times with scothbrite and it becomes as good as new.Originally posted by a_shirke8 View PostThat was exactly my first assumption. Due to engine cowl fazer will not have this issue.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi Krishan, I agree with you the yamaha does seem to lack quality in the bike but its the motor that we're paying for and I'm sure you have no complains with respect to the engine, its just that good. I dont know why there are vibes in your bike maybe you should get this examined. Maybe tighten a few nuts.Originally posted by krishan..... The hornet has never been in my good books. While I'm no expert, the bike never felt right especially coming from honda's house. I'd prefer the Unicorn over the hornet. [emoji14]
I guess powder coating the pipe might help it get longer life but again the heat dissipation might be affected. Im not too sure if it will affect performance.
