Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I'm not a highway or night rider but yeah sometimes I felt that the lighting is too bad even for the city rides.... Whenever a bike with yellow light passes it looks like my bike doesn't have any headlights that's why I adjust the beam make it as low as it's possible just for good lightning and yeah it helps a lot & better than factory setup....Originally posted by krishna6239 View Post

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Dear fellow riders,
After a few days of waiting, my baby is delivered in the evening
Rode it for around 40 km, the ride was beautiful.-Gear shifting isn't that hard as it was in case of few members (Note: I'm upgrading from Passion PRO, my definition of HARD might differ
)
-Baby's cry is perfectly fine (sound note)
-The ODO and Speedometer were disconnected(?!) and display reading was 0 km
I'm perfectly following the run-in period procedure but faced a LOT of heating issue from the engine. After driving for 10-15 km I could feel the heat through jeans, I was feeling guilty to drive further. After a break of 10-15 mins, I started it again and the same problem was still there.(Engine oil level is maintained perfectly)
Went back to service center again, according to mechanics this heating is perfectly fine and that won't damage the engine. But I'm not really convinced, I could feel a good amount of heat through jeans (evening time, atm temp ~30).
Is this issue really a negligible or it is serious, requesting your valuable opinions, please.
TIA

Congratulations for the bike I have the same colour bro and i love it....
1st thing install the crash guard as soon as possible and
2nd thing is the heating issue is normal after 1st service u wouldn't feel any heat..... My bikes 1st service is at 13 November and it became much smooth than new one so u enjoy the ride...... nothing to worry about it.....Last edited by B7ACKTHORN; 11-25-2017, 12:54 AM.

Being a showroom from a small town and due to lack of competition, the service quality over here is shitty. I opted for accessories package and paid the amount but at the time of installation they found out that they are stocked out
of accessories. Now I've to wait for crash guard, female footpeg and stock FZ25 mirror (current one is from some other FZ
)
One more thing to ask, will the heating issue will be minimised over the period or it'll be solved after 1st service only? For me it is getting intolerable, I'll really have to be careless (and perhaps shameless) to drive 1000 km with this issue.Last edited by raahul11; 11-25-2017, 12:14 AM.

After 1st service u can't feel that much heat so don't worry about it and its air and oil cooled engine so u feel a little amount of heat....Originally posted by raahul11 View PostThanks krishan!

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
A new engine on any vehicle, be it car, bike, any IC engine will heat due to the inherent friction between new parts that are being bedded in, more friction means more heat, which also means the engine is getting bedded in. Try to do highway runs with varied RPM, high, low and high for sometime and then medium and normal. This way, the engine frees itself up more and beds in well.Originally posted by raahul11 View PostThanks krishan!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

Try to change oil in first service even though manufacturers don’t recommend it.
This way you can flush out all debris created because of this friction. This also reduces additional debris buildup.
Congratulations on your new ride.

This confused me. I thought oil was changed in first service.Originally posted by kris123456 View PostIn addition to what VJ said,

Hmm.
Usually The main things that First service does is ,
Change Engine oil ,
Change Oil filter ,
Adjust Chain and Lubricate Chain ,
Change Air filter ,
And other Checks on Bike .
And Oil Changing is the most Important and inevitable thing to do .
Also Earlier I saw complaints about Headlight .
Yes , the white coloured led light throw is dull when a yellow light comes from the opposite.
But Otherwise With the bike on High beam’ for me is adequate, I have ridden my bike in pitch black areas where the roads are pretty bad, the headlight was wobbling ,So i had to control my speed and then it was alright.
Yes the light doesn’t illuminate the road ahead like the projector lamps in the Pulsar RS or KTM RC and Dominar . But i don’t think anyone needs that kind of illumination .
At least for me I just want to get descent illumination of the way ahead with a 150-160 degree throw to the sides .

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Just one small doubt. My bike has done 450 Kms now. The infamous tappet noise has started. I can just ignore it and continue riding till first service right. Or should I get it adjusted?. I hope it doesn't affect the break in.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi Bro,Originally posted by Abhi6481 View PostI am from Pune, and bought this beast 3 month ago. As per me following are the pro and cons ( Strictly based on my observation)
Pros:
1. Awesome powerful engine. Low end performance is terrific.
2. Super torque, so no need to change gear all the time in city traffic
3. Amazing milage ( Getting 38.8 kmpl in pune. I am travelling to most traffic loaded area in Pune Hinjewadi to Hadpsar still getting such milage)
4. Looks.. it looks beefy spectacular, and not flashy at all. ( Looks are subjective
)
5. Perfect ride and handling. Rear tyre is huge and stick to road like leech.
6. Suspension setup is so nice that you hardly get bump. Ride is smooth and comfortable.
Cons:
1. No 6th gear. Badly miss 6th gear on highway
2. Instrument cluster is too basic. Sometime I feel even fz16 has better console
3. Rear view mirror vibrates lots after 75kmph.. its almost unusable
4. Sometime my hand start paining in traffic while riding in traffic. Changed seating postion but still it hurts.
5. Headlight .. Yes it is weak. Brightness getting from stock headlight is not good.
But I am happy with my purchase, so there are hardly any big fault in this beast.. hope this helps !!
Congratulations on your Beast... How many KMS have you done on the bike and at what ratio? (City Traffic+Highway)
Regards,
Sai

Leave it as it is ,as for now.
My FZ 25 hasn’t had this issue but others have faced this issue and till the 1st service it should be not tampered with !
After 1st service the engine will be in its sweet spot and then ask the srvc guys to adjust the tappet.
There is nothing wrong in adjusting the tappet now but it may increase the heat build up !

Mine too is OK !!Originally posted by JyotishmanS View PostI don't understand the headlight 'issue'. Is there one as such? I mean, i do a 25 km highway ride every night and the headlight in full beam is pretty adequate.

You said it right. The high and low lights are assembled together and simultaneously go up and down. In my case the factory setting was pretty good, However, in first service the technician lifted it up. Later I tried myself and now the throw is sufficient for me. But I am not happy with the brightness, it fades away on oncoming traffic.Originally posted by krishan..... View PostMy only concern with headlight is that it shakes to much in uneven surfaces and even in plane surfaces it vibrates too much...... otherwise I'm okay with it..... but the high beam light isn't good it projects a very little area and when u adjust using that screw the low beam and high beam both get up or down simultaneously....means if u change the high beam the low beam automatically change...
