Go to the Yamaha website and check their section on 'yamalube' ,you will be enlightened about many things.

            Aren't you sure?

And if YAMAHA has issued this, then how long we have to wait to get it replaced?

            Explain further please.

Its for sure. I saw the notice on the service centers Noticeboard. But its applicable only for a certain batch of motorcycles and you have to check that with your SVC manager to see if your bike belongs to that batch. Then you will get it replaced for free and should sort out gear issues I believe.

I have one query. A new issue that I face now is very high chain noise after first service. The SVC folks are clueless as to what is causing the noise and just adjusted, cleaned and lubed the chain and gave. It went quite for sometime and is back with a bang. I am worried my chain and sprocket will wear out pretty soon and since it is not covered under warranty will be screwed. No drop in performance though. My luck is pretty bad with Yamaha I guess. Might have got a lemon or the SVC screwed my bike. The gear is the same from day 1 without showing any signs of getting smoother inspite of adjusting the gear lever, clutch or even after oil change during first service. Bike is very rough and has a lot of vibes. But I have ridden a butter smooth Fz25, so really sad I was unlucky to get a bad one.

Every manufacturer will boast about their products. What matters is real world performance. I don't see ppl praising yamalube over other brands. My bike has vibration post 5k rpm so thought oil might be the issue. Hence want to try other oil to know if that's the cause.

Yamalube which i have used in my R3 is fully synthetic, it’s not a mineral oil. Out of 27k kms done, i have used yamalube for 17k kms. Cost per litre is ₹420/-. For fz25 there’s different oil as said by svc.

Other two brands I have used is motul 7100 and shell advance ultra. All three oils are good only thing with yamalube is that it gets rough sooner as compared to shell and motul.

                    4 Stroke Motor Oil
                    API Service SL Fully Synthetic
                    Mineral, Jaso MA
                    SAE 10W40

This is what they have in description for fz25 oil. You can see fully synthetic mineral and not proper FS oil. That's what I meant.

i thought i would not comment about this.. but you made my point clear...

every manufacturer does research about the type.of oil there engine require... they don't want there customers coming everytime to svc for no reason.... yamalube is perfect for fz25 in my opinion

Been following this thread for some time now.
Considering FZ25 as my next bike.
Just had a couple of queries though. Help from the fellow owners is appreciated.

                                1) "Coin rattling sound"- So many owners have complained about some coin rattling sound. Also, I've read that it has been rectified by Yamaha in the newer versions. Anyone who has recently bought the bike can throw some light if the suspected sound is rectified or not.
                                2) Headlight and electrical- Yes, the headlight is kind of poor. It might not affect in the city but affects on the highway at night. I tour whenever I can and it might include some unintentional night riding. Adding auxiliary lights will void the electricals warranty, but I can let go the warranty for my own safety and convenience. Now, I've read that the alternator is kind of weak in FZ25 and cannot handle extra lights with ease. Also, FZ25 only has a single fuse. Would it be a problem as adding extra lights would be a necessity for me if I buy this bike. (I have not much knowledge about electrical so experts can throw some light.)
                                3) The odometer and ABS- People say that their calculator looks better than the FZ25 odo. But I don't really care as long as it shows the speed and RPM. ABS would have been great on the bike. But I can live without ABS as I've been riding a heavy and non-ABS bike for about 35000 kms now (RE Thunderbird).

Those are the issues which I need to clarify before making a decision.
Also, if there are any other small/big unsaid issues which I should know as a prospective buyer, I'd like to hear them.
Hello, I bought this the bike 15 days back and have completed 650 kms.

Break in limit is 4500 rpm for first 500kms and 6000 rpm for next 500 kms (ref: Bike manual. It says to avoid prolonged use above particular limits)
Had a morning ride to Kasara Ghat from Nashik (100 kms), as the ODO has passed 500 I touched 6k a couple of times and achieved 90-95kmph.
                                Few
                                1. So far I haven't faced any issues with the bike. Gear shifting is smooth(which was a problem with few owners in run-in period).

                                2. Talking about coin rattling, my bikes soundnote is changing over a period of time(feels more matured than earlier) but no signs of coin rattling so far and hopefully won't appear in near future.

                                3. Headlights is a major issue, the intensity of it is a major drawback. SVC here in Nashik are themselves installing the fog lamps and it won't void your warranty for sure as long as your stock wirings are not cut. I've not yet studied the of electricals so can't comment on the capacity and capability of the system.

Few Tips (Gyan): take a good care of the machine in the break-in, this is where most of the issues are born from. Strictly avoid sudden acceleration and deceleration, be gentle. Don't ride at constant RPM, keep varying it. 4.5k and 6k are not 'limits', you can go +500 but just to teach your engine (avoid prolonged use, don't do it multiple times. feel the health and then take a decision)

                                Hope this helps!
