Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Thank you for replying. That issue I am okay with as it doesn't happen often. Maybe less than 5 times in total ownership so far. This is another issue that it starts fine. But in running after a while it happens. Only started happening recently. Petrol bunk all same. Does someone know how the emission control works ? Any valve that can get choked in the FI system? I know in cars that can happen.Originally posted by riazmomin View Post

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
They are all same I think. Some 200 or 400 each. I am using Fiero mirrors that stick out a little further. But the RTR ones are convexed at the outer part. Have to buy left and right ones as the thread is different on both.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View PostWhich rtr ? 160/180/200?Last edited by Kirankarunan; 04-16-2018, 08:20 PM.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I recently went to one of the Yamaha showrooms in Bangalore to get a quote. They have quoted a on road pricce of 149,882 and an extra 2.8k for 'accessories'
The break up of accessories include:
1.2k - Crash guard
600 - Teflon Coating
550 - Seat cover
110 - Hand grips
90 - Indicator buzzer
150 - N/P (I forgot what this was)
I am thinking of only opting for crash guard. Were you guys given a similar costing for accessories which was over and above the on road price?
also, i am planning to get the bike through financing, should i go ahead with the yamaha financing quotes or should i also look around for other 3rd party financing companies?

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
It happens to me as well, just above half a tank of fuel engine chocks and gasps for fuel. Happens only when i ride in 2nd gear at constant rpm below 3k (traffic situation). My bike is pretty new just done 4k km but issue occured from first fill. Informed service center and they couldnt find any reason. Checked twice in FI station but nothing turned up.Originally posted by Kirankarunan View PostI have an annoying problem that's cropped up the last 500km. The engine misses and turns off sometimes. All is well once the fuel cap is opened. It used to happen occasionally when starting from parking but now happens when riding fast in the afternoon sun. It feels like it's gasping for fuel or air. Happens when the tank has close to 4 litres or less. Simple answer is keep it filled above it. But I like the extra range that this bike offers me on a full tank. Fewer trips to the bunk is welcome.
Since this has cropped up only recently, something has changed. Bike is at 12300km. I don't want to go the SVC and experiment. Otherwise excellent machine. Mileage performance all better and better. Close to Unicorn smoothness running about town at speeds 35-55. Does anyone have this as a known issue ? If yes what's the fix ?

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Yeah, the pricing sounds about right, just a tad bit higher. But whats with the on-road price? Almost 1.5L in Bangalore!Originally posted by LostRider View PostI recently went to one of the Yamaha showrooms in Bangalore to get a quote. In Pune, FZ25 costs about 1.37L(negotiations and Paytm kinda thing separately).Originally posted by LostRider View PostI recently went to one of the Yamaha showrooms in Bangalore to get a quote. They have quoted a on road pricce of 149,882 and an extra 2.8k for 'accessories'

I'm guessing Bangalore prices are bloated by a lot, could be the heavy road taxes. Ask them for cost break-up.
Go for crash guard but even that looks expensive.Regards,

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
In karnataka road tax is 18 percent for bikes above 1 lakh ex showroom. Hence price is 12k more compared to other states. I bought my fz in September for 1.49k with crash guard, skid plate and tank pad.Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostIn Pune, FZ25 costs about 1.37L(negotiations and Paytm kinda thing separately).

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Sorry I am yet to face such a problem. Regarding svc, I'd suggest you to stick with Yamaha unless they are providing a bad experience. If you want to go to a mechanic, please make sure he is experienced in Yamaha bikes and every part installed on the bike should be genuine. Never compromise on the quality of the parts. Also, so try shell ultra fully synthetic 10w40 engine oil. You'll be pleasantly surprised by the results.Originally posted by Kirankarunan View PostI have an annoying problem that's cropped up the last 500km. The engine misses and turns off sometimes. P.S I have a question of my own, has the bike gotten smoother overall? I mean the gearbox and engine?

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi thanks for the reply. I am okay with the current SVC. Just not okay with mechanics digging about without knowing what they are looking for. Regarding smoothness yes I feel overall much much better than where it was at 5 or 7000km. I am happy with the Yamalube oil. Thanks for the suggestion but since it's working not messing with it.Originally posted by Amrit.Singh View PostSorry

The engine is a gem. I set the valves to spec at 10000km. It was very slightly off. The clearance upper and lower limit is only 20 micron. About the thickness of a thin hair! It seemed to rev a little smoother and sounded quieter. Not sure if it was the adjustment or the engine settling in. For my use I need reliability more than anything. Used for commuting only.

Thanks for the reply ! Yes this is pretty much my issue also. For me it clearly started only 500km back. Otherwise no problem. I feel something is blocked. The fuel cap I blew out. But not confident of working on the FI unit. At least if I know what the problem is can do something.Originally posted by Harrisoncool View PostIt happens to me as well, just above half a tank of fuel engine chocks and gasps for fuel. They are same for all TVS bikes except 310rr.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View PostWhich rtr ? 160/180/200?
Apart from Crash gaurd, you dont need any other accessories. Teflon is marketing gimmick. It does not work on plastic bikes!Originally posted by LostRider View PostI recently went to one of the Yamaha showrooms in Bangalore to get a quote. Get your fuel injector nozzle cleaned or replaced. Also replace your air filter ASAP. Check oil filter health too.Originally posted by Kirankarunan View PostI have an annoying problem that's cropped up the last 500km. The engine misses and turns off sometimes. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Thanks. The air filter oil filter was replaced 2500km back. Spark plug condition was excellent when i checked recently. Injector cleaner was used in the same service. They use a cleaning liquid and add to petrol tank. Opening cleaning not sure if in recommended procedure at only so many km. But thanks for replying :-)Originally posted by JyotishmanS View PostGet your fuel injector nozzle cleaned or replaced. Also replace your air filter ASAP. Check oil filter health too.

Cleaning liquid? May be that's the reason of the bike coughing up!!Originally posted by Kirankarunan View PostThanks. The air filter oil filter was replaced 2500km back. From what I understand, these additives clog more than do good. Get fresh fuel from a reputed fuel station or get some premium fuel for a full tank run. That should help.Regards,
