The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place. It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.

Although I havent replaced the pads in my fz as I just bought it but according to past experience OEM pads are costly but provide good bite in dry as well as wet conditions whereas the local pads give ok bite in dry but useless in wet.

Absolutely correct. The wet grip on the brakes are phenomenal. The best I have ever found to be frank.

              OEM or aftermarket?
Better than R15 brakes? Honestly, R15 brakes are the best I have ever used in humble segment.
I love the progessive feeling of my P220's brakes though. Both 220 and R15 work brilliantly at the two end zones. [emoji23]
I loved FZ25's versatility. It can potter around like a grocery vehicle and give good feel as well when wanting to ride crazier than vegetable shopping.

But it seriously lack the ability to corner. I'm not complaining though as it's the only thing that saved my bike and taught the thieves a lesson.

OEM brake pads. Seriously, the best wet-braking I have found. Far better than the r15 or the p220.

I wish Yamaha provide bike tours like Royal Enfield. It is my dream too, to ride to Ladakh but don't dare to go alone or without back up vehicles.

There are many unofficial groups right? Like the one by pulsar owners (naked wolves, i think)

Is there anything for fz25 owners in Bangalore?

Hi am happy to report that cleaning out the fuel cap took take of my intermittent running issue. Rode it the sun with close to 4 litres or less and all good. This problem I only created. I had the habit of using chain lube spray in the keyhole. This worked well in my last bike and the lockset would last 100000km approx. In this bike, the oil along with dirt seems to block the fine passages in the cap.

                            Hehe.
Sometimes the problem would be small and could be due to our own tiny error. I'm glad you found the problem and resolved it.
For the lockset, I believe its the fuel tank lock, right? WD40 should come to rescue for that I suppose.

Problem was quite bad. Bike was just lagging and had poor throttle response and sometimes would cut out at low rpm. Yes, fuel tank lock. WD 40 might work. Haven't used for this. I think it's more of a loosening agent than lubricant.

My P220 manual says use WD40 for the switchgear in some intervals of servicing.
It could help actually. I've never tried to do anything with the fuel lock. I might need to do it as well.
