Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Got my RC and booklet for extended warranty today. The BHP figure is wrongly mentioned as 15 instead of 20. Anyone else with the same problem here?
Cheers!

Congratulations on the new bike! Unless one hears it in person, it's difficult to point the source of the sound for it could be anything you've mentioned. Just one more probable source - the tool kit, make sure the tool kit is sealed properly beneath the back seat.Originally posted by Vodoochile View PostBought my Fz25(black) last week, odometer reading shows 320 kms now. From the first time I lay eyes on this beauty I'm in love! The thing is I've constantly heard some metallic clanking noise in the rear when I go over bumps and potholes. I'm not sure where the clanking sound originated from. The suspension? The bearings? The drive chain clanging with the hugger and saree guard? I'm not sure. Anyone else experiencing this? Any recommendation?
Cheers!

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I've check the chain and it was obvious that it way too loose just by observation, so had it tighten up, not too tight of course, gave it a bit of play. And Voila! Gone are the clanking noise I've heard before!Originally posted by paul.1911 View PostCongratulations for your new bike.
Can't make any assumptions on the sound you are hearing. Would need to check. Check by yourself if tail part, mud fender or what else is tight. Check chain for the slack and also check the suspension by pushing down the bike with your hands on the main stand. Also check the rubber stopper arm of main stand. You may find something or else get it checked.
Update: One more thing, did you tighten your chain ever? If not then the chain is loose and causing sound. My bike chain was loose at 100km. I tighten it myself. Use the adjuster from both sides. Since the chain is new will surely get loose twice before first service.
I forgot to mention that before I tighten up the chain whenever I am in a "lower" gear and keeping a steady rpm - there is a "lurching", "tugging" that I feel. Thanks for the advise brother...thank you. This is my first bike so I'm a little bit naive.😀

RC book has power mentioned in KW not in HP. Noticed it on my Dominar as well.Originally posted by GandalfTheGrey View PostGot my RC and booklet for extended warranty today. The BHP figure is wrongly mentioned as 15 instead of 20. Anyone else with the same problem here?
15 KW = 20 bhp

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Chain cleaning is basically removal of old grease formed from the lubricant and dust settled in it.
This can be well cleaned by any degreaser like kerosene, diesel, isopropyl alcohol. Even kitchen degreaser is also good enough for light oils on the chain. The pourpose is to get rid of grease and dust. Hence soap water is also a good solvent. However water traces starts corroding the parts. Therefore petroleum cleaners are the best for cleaning chain.
Aerosol spray will also do the job, however the dust needs to be cleaned by clean cloth.
Don't forget to relubricate after any cleaning process.Avoid noise pollution. Avoid honking.

I would stay away with isopropyl alcohol as some says it damages rubber but not all rubber are affected by it. It can be affected with prolong use. There is no perfect answer, so better not use it. But sure enough stay away from acetone.Originally posted by mknaidu11 View PostChain cleaning is basically removal of old grease formed from the lubricant and dust settled in it.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Just out of curiosity, is it 600 or 6000 Kms? If it's 6000 then it's some serious mile crunching mate! Kudos to you. Also it would be great if you can share your experiences with the bike so far till hitting the 6k mark?Originally posted by swaranjit29 View PostJust completed 6000KM on my FZ25 and want to share few pics of my recent trip to Chakrata & Tiger Fall.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
After more than a month of being have purchased the LED Indicators. Today got time to fit them. Purchased from Amazon.
For ease of access, I removed the below section from rear.
Used existing rubber mounts from stock indicators as the LED mount was not wide enough to fit on to the frame.
LED indicators came with shorter length than the required. So had to do some patch work with spare wires that was already there with me.
It took more time than expected for first one as I had to do various checks. First indicator took almost 45 Mins, but rest three I could fit in 15 mins.
Looks good and kind of disappear into the body work. Bright enough for day light. Best part is, I can adjust the angle when ever required.

Next DIY with be setting up auxillary lamps for FZ25 in the same way I did for my 390 earlier. Good part is, no need for splicing the wires on FZ25.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
riazmomin those look really good! i want those too.
guys i am facing a problem. at really low speeds..1st or 2nd gear i hear squeaking noise from the rear wheel. the rear wheel disk and the brake pad rub each other and friction caused is making this noise. the service centre guy couldnt fix it. he had replaced the brake pads in the 1st service as he said it wore out. this must have been due to wrong wheel alignment as i hardly use my rear brake. could this be happening due to cheap and fake brake pads? would the mechanic in Yamaha do such a thing?

Lucky you at least you got the bike name printed perfectly. I own a cbr 250r but in rc book it's printed as cbr 150.Originally posted by GandalfTheGrey View PostGot my RC and booklet for extended warranty today. Info side I guess only address can be changed on rc book for which you have to submit form 33. Download the form and check whether if it has fields to enter the bike details. If it has then you can submit to the RTO officer and can make the changes.
But as far as traffic police concerned they will only see your name, photo that's all.Apache RTR 180 (The Valentine) 2012 - 2016

Really good looking one! Just curious to know, will this setup void any electrical warranty?Originally posted by riazmomin View PostAfter more than a month of being have purchased the LED Indicators. Today got time to fit them. Purchased from Amazon.
Nice trip mate. I myself am planning to visit Valparai soon. Did you carry the PUC certificate with you? I read that it's not necessary for bikes within 1 year of purchase but some say it's mandatory. Any idea on this?Originally posted by pitstop mechanic View PostMy first trip on my fz25

Oh! That'll be frustrating. Yeah you're right! Apparently only address can be changed. Anyway now that I'm informed the BHP figures are mentioned in KW and not in BHP, I'm relieved the entry in RC is correctOriginally posted by sstherockz View PostLucky you at least you got the bike name printed perfectly.
