Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Did service engineer of yamaha confirmed this play in crankcase?Originally posted by anachronix View PostA short update on my FZ25.
Left the bike for getting the tappet noise fixed, but it was diagnosed to be an issue with the play in crankcase and my bike has been sitting at Walters Yamaha, Chennai for the last couple of weeks. The part is yet to be shipped by Yamaha! The issue was mainly with the oil supply that was not consistent around various RPMs, I am yet to fully understand this issue and write it in detail!
Really disappointed with this issue as the usual Yamaha reliability has been missing with the FZ25. I have done about 200KM on the bike, too early for a failure!
It might be a better idea to get the tappet noise checked earlier than your first service. There are couple more bikes that the dealer mentioned to be having this issue with some other dealer in Chennai.

Yeah, spoke to the technicians who mentioned about technicians from Yamaha who had visited the bike and confirmed that there is an issue.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View PostDid service engineer of yamaha confirmed this play in crankcase? The fact that no one understands you doesn't mean you're an artist.

i think after 2 to 3 services gears will get easier than now[emoji4]Originally posted by manish197 View PostI had booked my bike on the 26th of January and got it delivered to me on the 2nd of March. In Bangalore, OTR came out to 1.44L. PDI and TR procedure took about half a day.
Of all the 3 colours available, I personally liked the White one. It looked Cleaner and bigger than the other colours.
I have ridden it for 80 odd Kms so far I love almost everything thing about it. As of now, I do not like the gearbox. It seems that it has a mind of its own. It is very hard and very difficult to find neutral. The mirrors could also be better as the field of view is not that good compared to my gladiator. Posting a few pics.

It would be good bike for touring. Comfy stance, refined and smooth engine and good tank range.Originally posted by z0rr0_333 View PostAnd do you think it's a good bike for touring? numa97 this is why i got it removed. also looks much much better without it. i am willing to wash the undersides after every ride in the rain as of now.Originally posted by ramdante View PostEven with the rear tyre hugger, the bike makes a huge mess of itself on the entire rear side, except the pillion seat.. So be wary..
Really need to get a better tyre hugger fitted, I am too lazy to wash the bike often.. One evening of rain in Chennai ruined the entire rear side of the bike :/

How did it actually sound like and was it really loud/bad?Originally posted by anachronix View PostA short update on my FZ25.

My ride makes some tapet noise as well, especially after the engine gets heated.. Informed about the same, but I believe it was probably ignored during 1st service, as I still get it on and off.. Not sure whether it's normal or not..

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
i am planning a few modifications. so need your suggestions. doing it just for visual enhancement.
1. paint the suspension forks black
2. put silver adjustable levers + silver tyre rim stickers OR orange adjustable levers + orange tyre rim stickers.
i am leaning towards silver cause of this bike below

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Its like the tappet noise and the noise is quite high when the engine is hot. That ignorance during the first service happened with me as well from the dealer! I was not convinced with the noise to be normal and insisted on getting it checked again.
From what I spoke to the technician, the cause of the issue is with the oil pump that is not working as expected with the oil circulation in the bike. This is what I heard from the mechanic, I am still not able to fully understand the issue as I get a new story every other time I ask them about it. Planning to visit them tomorrow when the part arrives and see whats going on in it.
I would suggest, get it checked and don't wait for the next service.
