Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello FZ owners,
Before I talk about my buying experience of my first bike FZ 25. Let me introduce myself a bit, I previously owned HH CD Dawn which was brought by my parents for my elder brother who rode till 40k and then handed over to me in 2008. I had lot of problems with this bike as it was abused badly by my brother, having no job at that time was very difficult for me to repair this, also i had no knowledge about almost anything. I then somehow came to know about xbhp in 2012, then started learning about the bike.
I then rebuild my whole bike from everything and restore gradually from scrap to new showroom condition. You can see some of my DIY's on my signature. I usually stayed mostly on Splendor/Passion thread so only know about the members out there and few from outside. Well i love long rides and exploring the world. I did a ride from Mumbai to Delhi in that CD Dawn in two days total 1400 kms with all my belongings. I actually relocated my job from Mumbai to Delhi and few rides to Chandigarh and other places as well. In total done 1.20lacs kms till now. Well these were old memories and bit about me.. let me come to the point..
I had been waiting from a long time to buy my own new bike until I stumble upon FZ25. Other bikes were on my mind was HX250, R15v3 & RS200. R15 v3 was my choice but had to wait for it which i could not. Also the seating position was a concern so i choose to go with FZ when I went to showroom to have a look.
I bought on 16th from Setco Yamaha Delhi (someone here mentioned this name who inquired about the price by calling them). My buying experience was awesome, the manager was helpful, didn't took much long time. I also took extended warranty for 777 which i did mistake i think. I didn't even test drive the bike before buying, i just took it as i heard very good about the bike and also i had no other choice.. well here are the pics...

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Even with the rear tyre hugger, the bike makes a huge mess of itself on the entire rear side, except the pillion seat.. So be wary..Originally posted by hemanta View Postyes..did it myself
Really need to get a better tyre hugger fitted, I am too lazy to wash the bike often.. One evening of rain in Chennai ruined the entire rear side of the bike :/

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I'm on running period. Though manual says a limit of 4500 i didn't went more than 4000, kept under it @ 55kph max 60. But didn't see vibrated at that rpm. If i make too late then i may loose the chance of getting it replace. At least i will make them aware of it.Originally posted by Mani_K View PostOn hindsight don't just ask them yet, the OEM RVM on our FZ25 vibrates after 70kmph/4500 rpm.
May be this one from the FZ16 will perform good for you???

The bike doesn't look good with hugger. It looks more sexy without it. I'm too thinking to remove it. Does it still make a mess under seat on dry conditions?Originally posted by ramdante View PostEven with the rear tyre hugger, the bike makes a huge mess of itself on the entire rear side, except the pillion seat.. Vibration starts at higher rev' s, I don't own one but my test ride experience taught me this. But the RVM in that bike was differentOriginally posted by paul.1911 View PostI'm on running period. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
A short update on my FZ25.
Left the bike for getting the tappet noise fixed, but it was diagnosed to be an issue with the play in crankcase and my bike has been sitting at Walters Yamaha, Chennai for the last couple of weeks. The part is yet to be shipped by Yamaha! The issue was mainly with the oil supply that was not consistent around various RPMs, I am yet to fully understand this issue and write it in detail!
Really disappointed with this issue as the usual Yamaha reliability has been missing with the FZ25. I have done about 200KM on the bike, too early for a failure!
It might be a better idea to get the tappet noise checked earlier than your first service. There are couple more bikes that the dealer mentioned to be having this issue with some other dealer in Chennai.Last edited by anachronix; 06-19-2017, 12:16 PM.The fact that no one understands you doesn't mean you're an artist.
