Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
about brakes: bite and feedback from brakes are 2 different things. brakes with good bite tend to shed speed instantly as you squeez it. brakes with good feedback let you know if wheel is locking up.Originally posted by paradoxr9019 View PostHi guys...
.
Fyi I have booked the fz25 but my mind is still on the Ktm.
On with the questions now..
1. How are the brakes? Heard they are spongy.. is there any feedback at all?
2. How Good are the headlights?
Yes, there are posts from before.
There were few posts saying that the throw has improved after adjustment. Can they be used if you're out for a night ride?
3. I was just thinking.. since most of the components are same as the fzs, could there be a way to retrofit the fzs head lamp assy and convert it to 3500-4000 lumen after market led?
4. I also heard that there is a flat spot sub 3k rpm.. is it true?
Sorry about the long post..
The dilemma is eating me from the inside😅
Thanks in advance
this bike has amazing feedback but little bite. have you used bike with drum breaks? those breaks are super progressive, have the best feedback. but bite is lacking. and you tend to stop a bit further ahead from where you applied brakes. these brakes are similar in character except stopping power is much higher cause its disk. so you will stop much closer compared to drum brakes.
for fueling under 3k rpm, i had no complaints.

How about the headlamp does it have a usable throw during night time?

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Without leg guard, its not possible to register the bike in Maharashtra and Rajasthan, my experience (Except some sports bike like R15). So, show room needs to provide the same prior to delivery of the bike. Helmet if you have one than you need not you get from showroom. Seat cover, body cover, manual you may take delivery at later date.Originally posted by PDEBANSHI View Postwilling to buy fz25 but my nearest showroom does not provide any accessories with it not even a leg guard. they says its not available.

The problem I faced with headlight is while taking curves we cannot see the sides.only the front road is visible.for eg.if you are taking a left-hand curve ,ur left side will be barely lit up.light spread is very lowOriginally posted by paradoxr9019 View PostThanks for your reply..

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Took my MK-|| for a ride in the night yesterday in some heavy rains to enjoy the ride and also see how this bike performs .
Very pleased with the amount of grip and confidence this bike inspires . Never did I skid and was doing a healthy 60-80 kmph .
Cleaned the bike today and I realised how big this bike is !
Happy riding

Is this before the first service ?Originally posted by Rajathrajk View PostYesterday I went to show tappet noise to SVC they said it will appear when engine gets heat. Is it true ?
Am scared to get it fixed because I felt SVC people are not trained Upton level
If yes .. not a problem because the engine is still setting in and tappet noise is common .
If it's post first service and the issue still persists , try a different SVC and get it rectified

But view is very good, no blind spots right behind me. Now to hunt for a new pair. RTR mirrors don't extend out as wide as these. Although they are higher placed than the stock Yamaha. They would be an improvement too I assume. Also will check for KTM 2017. Am open to suggestions too. Thanks!

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
LEDs will have narrow throw of light, unlike normal bulbs as used earlier. That is the reason why you are left with narrow beam, cant see turnings.Originally posted by Vinu Pillai View PostThe problem I faced with headlight is while taking curves we cannot see the sides.only the front road is visible.for eg.if you are taking a left-hand curve ,ur left side will be barely lit up.light spread is very lowAvoid noise pollution. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Please take a test ride on a bike with adjusted lights. It's a full assembly. Can't just change bulb. The LEDs are mounted on a plate. Light is reflected and not directly shining. I tried it in heavy rain too and it works well.Originally posted by krishnab4u View PostI wish to upgrade from cbr150 to fz25. I have read the ownership experiences. Headlight is a big let down. Has anybody changed the bulb?

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I'm just an inch short of 6 feet and planning to wait about 60 more days before I decide to pick up a car again (also will try the back strengthening exercise as suggested by others before)Originally posted by ramdante View PostI am still thinking you might need to adjust your position a little bit, or may e try adjusting the handlebar position too. I am 6' and face aboslutely no pains in the back
I checked with the SVC and they seemed to have no clue. So have to try an external bike accessories shop for that.Originally posted by xdocx View PostI did have problems in seat...increased the seat foam by 4 inch..now almost similar to pillion height...cost only 300..made by local shop..Now long ride is comfortable
Post 1500 kms on Odo - update:
The gears are just SUPER CLUNKY (making me miss the lesser effort of a heel and toe shifter) and didn't get better after first service followed by a couple of visits to SVC. The clutch play has been adjusted so much that the action now requires just about an inch of clutch release, to control the power delivery (like many of us had on the RX100)
Now the Yamaha Area Service Manager wants to have a look at it because this seems specific to my bike alone.
🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
I did expect some issues being an early adopter of a new model, however it still stings when they occur.
I lost my cool and went on a ranting spree at that Yamaha tech over the phone (lethargic to another level with zero customer care!) about everything from headlights being inadequate on highways at night, to the vibes creeping in at above 70 kmph.
